Learn how to best generate a mesh for SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation CFD. This video covers global automatic and manual refinement, how to create refinement plots, how to specify local mesh refinements by component or region, the importance of "disable solid component", channel refinement, solid / fluid / partial cell refinement, as well as balancing the relationship between total cell count and runtime.

One of the Great Channels I known in YT featuring Solidworks software's capabilities. Wish you could create a Flow Simulation of a Hydrokinetic turbine blade's Hydrodynamic performances

would have been good to see you spend more time on solution adaptive refinement, because it is extremely effective and, in many cases, eliminates the need for all other types of refinement. it's the least-hassle way to get good results. in fact i would start with that, and then discuss the rest.

Hi. I'd like to see the video about meshing near-solid wall regions in laminar and turbulent regimes. That's about boundary layer problem and mesh at near wall regions can significantly affect the results. You can also tell us about wall function technique 2SWF used in SW Flow Sim.. TY in advance!)

there was a "Wall Thickness" option in old Solidworks, why they removed this feature?

Great video! I found trimmed cell in my mesh, does it impact my simulation result? Thank you!

Presence of trimmed or irregular cell is an indicator that the mesh may not be adequately conforming to the geometry in one or more areas. It could impact results if it's occurring in an area of interest. You should be able to visualize where the trimmed cells are using a Mesh plot. Another thing to try is to do a regular cut plot with the Mesh overlay, and check and uncheck "Use CAD Geometry" - this will visualize the difference between the computational domain as meshed and the CAD model. At high levels of refinement this difference should be minor.
