The rak baseboards 19007 and 19003 have a max battery charging current of 350mA, the solar input wires should be big enough as to not get too hot.👍 If you want a higher charging current, maybe try a tp4056 module attached directly to the battery.
Be careful with wireless chargers, check yours for RF interferences, you can use an SDR to check it, my Baseus wireless charger spams quite a lot when plugged.
This is excellent advice ! I actually have a video in the pipeline about this. Will publish it soon. My worst noise generator is a charger for larger LiPO4 batteries. This wipes out almost every HF receiver in my home when I switch it on.
yes, the heltec has the esp32 chip which is very power hungry compared to the nRF52840 chip which is preferred for reapters, routers and probably stealth nodes too.
The board is a RAK WisBlock which has two IPEX connectors - one each for BT and LoRa. They also supply the board with two suitable flat strip antennas which I used here.
Umm, about the power consumption? I'm regularly getting 4+ whole days off Heltec v3's with 2000mah battery, either as router or repeater. The battery isn't much bigger than the board.
