@@Defensive_Wounds You say that.... But there are very few bands that do this... Normally there is a peak and then a decline. Age def limits what you can do as well
Technical superiority over most bands , poly rhythms , played perfectly . In a nut shell , brutal as fuck , beautiful lyrics , almost ethereal cathedral like lead work. Perfect hybrid of technology and musicianship. Amazing band . Would recommend catch 33 👍
love your Meshuggah journey. you guys are picking some strange ones, which awesome. a lot of reactions are the same songs over and over. Pravus? who does that? keep it up.
First time experiencing a new song drop by Meshuggah, this song is so good. Some Meshuggah fans will say this is nothing special, pretty basic for Meshuggah. But come on man, this song has so much energy, the production is top notch, have had this one my playlist since it dropped. Game Over!!
I like that perspective! Fan since '02 here and they are doing some new things. They're constantly evolving but still want to sound like "Meshuggah." Something like "Bleed" was sudden because of the 32nd kick hertas throughout most of the song. For the rest though they like to sneak changes that seem subtle at first but become total groove changers. It's weird right?
@@rosswoodland6449 Yes and I hate to be that guy but after so many years of listening, you get used to it being based on 4/4, where the 1 is easy to find because, 80% of the time, the snare is hitting on the common backbeat, 2 and 4. It's the odd-time riffs that are hard to figure out/predict. When the snare starts syncopating with the riff (not on 2 and 4) that's when I get lost. Sometimes they'll abruptly chop the end of a odd note grouping so that after 16 bars the beginning of the riff resolves back on the 1 and sometimes they'll let it play through...Love it! Haha!
The thing about Meshuggah that catches me every time is that, even with all the unbelievably heavy guitars, vocals, drums, production, you name it.. Every single one of their songs are so intensely meditative.. If you take a second and just sit and listen to what's going on.. It puts you in some kind of trance.. Regardless of how heavy it is.. I have yet to come across a band that achieves the same affect for me.. For that.. They have the top spot in my list of undeniable Gods..
@@strawspulledatrandom. Your opinion. I am also talking about the title track and not the whole album. I think the whole album isn't their best but middle of the road.
I’ve been a Meshuggah fan since 1995, and y’all had the same reaction I did when this dropped. Fucking goosebumps. BTW all their eerie sounds that sound like synth are actually guitars, as far as I know. Enjoy continuing down this rabbit hole. Check out their song Future Breed Machine if you want to see where they came from nearly 30 years ago. Their mark on metal, and even music in general, cannot be overstated. They are a group of consummate professionals that continue to push the boundaries of sounds. They’re the band that made 8 string guitars the norm and they’re the band that made jazz such a huge part of their sound without actually sounding like jazz. I love your reactions. Have a good evening.
I saw them in Bristol last month. One of the best gigs I have been to. It was incredibly loud. Can't believe they are in their 50s and are still incredible live.
This song immediately rocketed to the top of my favorite Meshuggah track joining Future Breed Machine, I Am Colossus, New Millennium Cyanide Christ, and Qualms of Reality. They are the kings of djent. This song came out of the gate and shoved it in your face the entire time. Great reaction!!
Meshuggah is one of the very few bands where I can still remember the first time I heard them. I was at an FYE sampling metal albums on one of their listening stations and picked up Destroy, Erase, Improve. I was hooked right from the start so I bought it immediately. After listening to it all that evening I found out that Chaosphere had just released so I went back the next day and bought that one, too. It's been an amazing ride ever since.
It's so refreshing to see people enjoying the mesh with sweet delight.. listen to straws pulled at random. Check it out. So Trance like. Verociously Brilliant!
MESHUGGAH =AMAZINGLY GOD LIKE MESHUGGAH =BEST METAL BAND MESHUGGAH =PERSONAL GODS OF METAL MESHUGGAH =LIFE WITH OUT THEM WOULD SUCK MESHUGGAH =UNSTOPPABLE
Massive fan of Meshuggah, and you two! Seen them live several times, with Stockholm 2017 as my goat show. Totally controlled chaos.. Keep the Mesh reactions coming! Cant go wrong with Obzen, Nothing (Remastered..), None-EP and I.. Cheers This new song slaps, the Thord is back
That "one part" in Violent Sleep of Reason... Obliterates Dancers... Not hating.. I'm a huge fucking fan, have been since Destroy Erase Improve.. But fuck.. That "PART" in Violent Sleep of Reason just kills everything in metal.. Every fucking thing.. For reference.. I'm talkimg about the part that follows the words: "Sacrifice of guiltless souls for our own deliverance"... That shit melts galaxies..
Something about this single made me extremely hopeful for the new record, I feel like this was much better than anything off their last album and this is just one single. The guitar (and bass drum) breaks in the verse are like tiny air bubbles you get while drowning in a dark abyss of djent. AND THE OUTRO IS PURE MADNESS. They absolutely smashed this one.
Love your fist reaction and becoming inlighted by Meshuggah music complexity...special, first video Demiurge...welcome and i suggest Obzen my favourite or new Ligature Marks.....they kick from beggining more and more till the end
Love your reactions. I have been a Meshuggah fan for a long time. Back in the day, mostly my fellow musician friends listened. I recommend you check out the song future breed machine from the album destry erase improve. I still often listen to that track to this day.
Oh, I should know your names at this point... but I could literally see her doing mental math, while his brain was frozen/face melted somewhere before the solo
do Bleed of them, do Bleed, from their 2008 album, Obzen. combination of 8 string guitars, and a pretty unpredictable drummer, with those vocals and unearthly bass, creating something they call Djent, yeah, they are a unique band, in every way
You should return to this song and react to the video. You will not be disappointed, and if you've seen it, you should review it. The video is an entirely new level to this song.
There is Heavy and then there is MESHUGGAH!!! Check out Rational Gaze or their “Nothing” album.. listen to to the blue cover one with 8 string guitars. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Speaking of Sweden check out Vildhjarta!! Pleaseeee!!! They’re a Meshuggah but sing in Swedish! 1000% worth checking out if you want to feel like your being pulled between a White and Black Hole in and out of existence. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Vildhjarta - Passage Noir Vildhjarta - Vagabond Vildhjarta - När de du älskar kommer tillbaka från de döda (it’s a mouthful but incredible song)
@@VergaHumeante I did when I flossed my teeth with your wife's pubic hair. Lol but no I get it. Meshuggah is not my favorite band, but very close to it.
