Really cool song, why the hell wasn't it included on all versions of Chaosphere? Would have been a really sweet change of pace for album. And why isn't it at least on the Reloaded version, or Rare Trax? Would be really nice...
How I wish Meshuggah return to some of this dreamy-jazz like stuff in between his technical low-tone dissonant polyrythim grooves (blah, blah, Extreme, blah... Djent). The best way can I describe it, is like the calm before the storm or like the eye of an hurricane you know.
Agreed, it's a pity they didn't put this on chaosphere as a "calm after the storm" song, they should have cut "elastic" at 6:00 minutes and then put this song as the last.
@@Slayyyer84 I saw an interview where Haake said it felt weird to have this, "breathing" song after the extreme onslaught that was chaosphere. I think it would have worked but I can also see his point and what they were trying to go for.
they were absolutely godly back then, still are, but in a different way.. i wish we could somehow see what would happen if they kept developing music similar to DEI and chaosphere.. but thats not how music works.. I love koloss though ive gotta say, favourite album from meshuggah since chaosphere
we know how they developed DEI and chaosphere...nothing came about:)and by the way...some stuff in this song here...is very similar and is quite obvious from the track called transfixion ,of the destroy erase improve album
@jabadubadiu98 or it could mean a drift into nothing...the instant or gradual negation of anything into nothing. or an indecribable quality, essence or entity still possible to be experienced but not able to be comprehended logically or compartmentalized in any way...
@dickyp1 Ugh. I have no idea why I said LHL. I actually meant "I Can't Remember." After listening again, ICR and Unanything sound similar, but definitely not the same. LHL was on my mind for some reason. Oh and there was no need to be rude bout AIC's music with "kill me and get it over with." :/
@Mappersmusic but then you've labeled it silent and it something. unanything, something absent of all and any descriptions, characteristics, labels...even nothing is different unanything because then you've given it a quality: being nothing. The genius of meshuggah.
@Andragon90 ok, i definately hear it in the intro, then it turns into blues.....some AIC songs make me feel that way, the ones that drag, the ones that are pessimistic and whining, the ones that i know only took 5 minutes to put together... low tolerance for that stuff...not rude, honest...
@DiscoRByrno Just because someone is a legend, does not mean that legendary status is deserved... Leo Tolstoy is a legend of Russian literature and "War and Peace" is shit, no matter, what anyone else says... Dostoevsky is a legend who deserves that status, "Crime and Punishment" was awesome. Slayer have their awesome parts and their bad parts. The awesome ones happened to be extremely important at that time in metal, so they became legends. They're a good band, but not a godly one.
@Andragon90 how do you hear alice in chains in this?? the chord structures are nothing alike....LHL is 'root to dominant 7' ...2 chords going back and forth like a depressed pendulum on the verge of death...kill me and get it over with... Unanything uses diminished structure with major 3rd added in the solos for color....the color of sound....theory...learn theory...open your ears...and pay attention to what you're hearing from a theoretical stand point, the two songs are polar opposites...
it was supposed to be right before Elastic, would've been a nice breather right before one final onslaught on the ears, guess they wanted Chaosphere to solely be chaos though
@schmorganic lol? Theres people all over the planet exterminating* as your say the whales. and Japanese scientists have also worked with many nations scientists to save species like Bluefin Tuna.
