Due to many unresolved traumas , my Mother has become obsessively controlling and very manipulative. She loves me very much and unfortunately if I stand my ground, she then exerts more excessive manipulation. I love her dearly but it has gotten so bad that I had to distance myself from her because of how much she was hurting me. When I came out to her as a lesbian, her world collapsed and she tried to “straighten me out”. The verbal and emotional abuse she inflicted on me was horrific. So horrific that I walked away.
