Hi! This message is for my RU-vid subscribers. Really, I just wanted to briefly introduce myself before I started posting more videos. My name is Leila Hanaumi (shows sign name). I'm Deaf. I live in the U.S., in Texas. Really, I first started posting my video content on Instagram, about three years ago. At the time, I had a baby (now I have two). But at the time, I just had one baby. I was feeling overwhelmed with... My lifestyle as a mom, a wife, while also working. So I was trying to figure out how to prioritize better, how to live a quality life.
I decided to start with waking up early, which is what led me to start that account on IG, @todayiawaken. You know, every single day you wake up and it's about what you do with your day. How do you start your day? All of that.
I've been posting weekly videos on there all this time. I always did want to set up a RU-vid channel as well. But it's a lot of work to do and I hadn't figured out the right time. Until about a few months ago, when the Deaf community was discussing the topic of "Deaf Elitism". I went ahead and did a vlog, and then people asked if it could be on RU-vid. People have different preferences and some said signed too fast and wanted to be able to slow it down. The cool thing about RU-vid is that you can control the video speed. I realized that made sense. So I posted the videos on RU-vid for the sake of that specific discussion.
To my surprise, some of you commented to let me know that you're subscribing from another country. Wow, that's cool! Nice to meet you! I'm happy you're here. So, yeah, I do want to start posting on RU-vid, too. I haven't quite figured out- I do post on my Instagram regularly, so you can follow me there if you're interested in that kind of content.
It occurred to me that I had posted a series of long videos related to vision boards, roadmaps, passion planner, that type of thing. I'd like to post these here on RU-vid, but I'm just thinking of some of you who may have subscribed because you're interested in topics related to Deaf Elitism, Deaf community, etc. Then suddenly I'm posting totally different topics related to life motivation? Like, uhh? Which is why I felt like I should introduce myself first and let you know what I usually vlog about. Just so you're aware.
Okay, so, I'm going to start posting, those are old videos from last year. I was pregnant with my second at the time. So, this is just a hello! This is me. I will be posting those old videos.
For more regular postings, Instagram's best. I hope to really invest in RU-vid because I do see a lot of potential here. This is a good platform for viewing videos, obviously. Timing is everything, so we'll see how things go. But in the meantime, say hi! It's nice to meet you. If there are any topics you'd like to see me cover, let me know.
