I saw the title and I thought cool. Then I see that Hannah Stoddard is in it and I immediately click on to the video. I always enjoy hearing her perspective.

Hannah - your testimony at the end filled me with so much fire. I will be one of the thousands who will defend Joseph Smith!

This message came right on time. I started visiting the church and I haven't read the book of Mormon yet.

This is a really important subject. Thanks Jacob and Hannah. I agree wholeheartedly that we need to be very discerning in these last days. Efforts abound to diminish the name, role, character and testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith. We need to ensure we do not fall prey to this devious trap of our enemy. When Moroni said to Joseph that his name would be had for both good and evil among all nations, kindreds, tongues and people, it is evident that this prophecy would even apply - perhaps especially - to those inside the Church. I have found that those who are loyal to Joseph's special call are sustained by the Lord in very significant ways. Joseph was - and is - a prophets Prophet. We need to comprehend the greatness of the restoration that came through him. It is an astonishing work. The spirit of prophecy and revelation attends those who come to know for themselves that Joseph is the choice Seer - the Messiah Ben Joseph prophesied of. I hope we will share this message in clear and undiluted ways - our salvation depends upon us receiving the word through Joseph because this is how we demonstrate that we receive Christ in our day. The people in the time of Moses could not accept Jehovah and at the same time denounce Moses. To accept the messenger is to accept the Master than sent him. I have so much more I could say on this. I love Joseph and I love the Lord that commissioned him! Keep up the great work.

I really enjoyed listening. Thanks to both of you for providing it. We live in very uncertain and trying times and Satan is doing his best to trick us into becoming non-believers because he knows what's coming and that his time is almost up. Therefore, we have to be strong by holding on to the iron rod and following the prophet's guidance in all things as we continue to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, and he was foreordained to fulfill the great mission of gathering Israel and bringing us closer to the teachings of our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son, our loving Savior. I look forward to the day when I can look brother Joseph in the eyes and thank him for everything he went through and did to make the gospel possible, and I know he continues this work on the other side with Hyrum, Father Smith, and the others that he served with during his short time here on earth, and I leave this testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

This presentation was invaluable to me, I have received a testimony of Joseph Smith really for the first time which is very powerful and awe-inspiring and I understand now so much better just exactly what he accomplished and what his mission was, it really is miraculous. I really have probably never heard of Messiah Ben Joseph until now (maybe one mention sometime somewhere), but all these things you discuss about verses and what they mean, and Joseph and who you really can't escape finding out that he was if you spend any time reading his own words, and the fact that his own blessings haven't all been fulfilled yet, and the Rough Stone Rolling book lacking the Spirit, and the thought and feeling coming to me just in the last month or so about standing up for him, and the work I put in and my own experiences of being given a testimony of him several times over several years, and seeing specific acquaintances specifically stating their opposition to Joseph Smith and my feeling absolutely called upon and totally prepared to defend him forever now based on one mention on their side haha...all of this is familiar and timely for me, and I'm so thankful that you covered it all! I so love being on the same page with people, unity and Zion and all of that is so real and necessary and so many people hate it for whatever reasons and just don't understand it. I'll tell you one person, out of all people I've ever heard, who is on record as standing up for Joseph Smith is Elder Neil L. Andersen; if anyone in the world is not going to back down from his understanding of all of this and loyalty to it, it's him. I've learned a lot from him about it. Anyway, as Hannah said, it's always time to pray, and ask the Lord how else I can be part of this. I've been pondering and coming back to some scriptures since I was 13 and never really talked about them with my family or anything, although we talk about everything gospel all the time. Where are our thousands? And I've said for years whenever I finally get to have some kids of my own, I don't know about any other sons yet, but my first son is going to be Joseph; and I will definitely work to teach my kids to be part of the thousands. I just stumbled on this podcast tonight and it's fun that I actually know Hannah.

Everything that Hannah and Jacob have said about Joseph being the Messiah Ben Joseph dove to ails perfectly with my studies. This is so important as the voices in the world and some within the Church are trashing Joseph. I don’t know why I was given a believing heart but when I heard the lessons from the missionaries at 16 yrs old, I knew that they were telling me the truth. I felt the truth. And when they talked about Joseph Smith being a prophet, I figured that if God could talk to men in ancient times, why couldn’t God talk to a man in modern times?! I have since learned so much about Joseph from the records of those who knew him best, and about God keeping His ancient appointed times even today and so much more. I can’t wait to meet Joseph! I hope to be there at the meeting at Adam-Indian-Ahman!! Glory to God and his Son, our Redeemer and Savior!!

This is one more outstanding program What you said about Joseph is what I said when the Missionaries asked if I thought Joseph was a prophet. I was at a Baptist college in Louisiana when I was Baptized. I really am So glad you did this with Hannah. It touched me in a deep way. I definitely want to read her books. I also have a returned missionary who has left his temple covenants and the church bc of what he read online.

I agree 100% with what you said at this first about Stoddard’s research into their books. I have read them, and people should read them to open their eyes and see things as they really are, especially in areas about Church history. I cannot believe how much this has been suppressed. Others who talk about much less in our church get way more views. I'm so grateful I came across this! I never realized how little I knew about any of this!! I hate the demoralizing of Joseph Smith and the outright attack so many have put out there, both in and out of the church! I recently discovered that I'm a descendent of both Joseph and Hyrum Smith and of John the Beloved. My Patriarchal Blessing was very interesting. A 4 page one with so much, and I know that I have much more I need to do in this life to help establish the Kingdom of God and find the tribes of Israel. But where do I start? What can I do to help? And, can I just share that I strongly feel that Joseph and Jesus were not just close brothers, but best friends and Joseph promised Jesus that he would do anything and everything that the Savior would need done to help bring His kingdom on earth and be the one who stands by his side in the last days when Jesus comes again.

1:35:10 I had a dream that President Nelson came to me and called me to the Middle East on a mission. When I woke up, I pondered on the dream and realized that the Lord wanted me to study about the Middle East culture and religions and since then I have joined a few groups that have helped me learn about Judaism and Islam. It is very interesting what I am finding. I hope I may use this knowledge to help God’s children some day.

Thank you for your thoughtful discussion. This is something I will need to study more. I seem to remember Ben Joseph referred to by a new Jewish convert in My visit to LA this summer who was baptized after many years of marriage to a faithful Latter-day Saint. Both were highly intelligent. They brought up their family in both faith traditions.

Every year for four years Moroni came and spent the day teaching Joseph, Joseph knew much more than we think, or give him credit, for knowing… just read Joseph Smith scientist to see the tiny bit he taught about the Universe that he understood…

The previous patriarch in our stake came and spoke to the youth in my ward and mentioned that patriarchs are given a small handbook when they are set apart. Jesus is our High Priest; He is the reigning Priest over the house of God. The entirety of the believer's life can only be lived in the light of the priesthood of Christ. The Priesthood is the perfection of mediation and Jesus is our great Priest and mediator. He is sufficient, He is all we need, nothing more.

Bednar is the Davidic servant (one of the four Messiahs, or annointed ones) of the last days before the King of Righteousness appears to the whole world. From talking about patriarchs. I don’t know if this is any help. My patriarch, talking with him before he gave me my patriarchal blessing, he said the office of patriarch or the duty of the patriarch will eventually fall on the father. Meaning it will be the father who will bestow patriarchal blessings on their children. Not a patriarch who is called in the stake that we have today.

Remember in the Garden of Eden there were two tress. One of eternal life the other the tree of knowledge of good and evil. That is the root of the two messiahs.

I appreciate what you are trying to accomplish. It is important to understand what J.S. Accomplished. This is a great work regarding the salvation of man. No one c,an even imagine the great work that he was responsible for. But he didn’t do the work gevin to messiah Ben joseph. So you would require that work to be done by a immortal being or reserected being. God has never used a reurected being to accomplish a work reserved for a mortal being. The greatest work done is the work done by messiah Ben David. If his is the greatest work and it was required to be done by a God with ability to die. Didnnt Christ say in the Book of Mormon say There was no greater Prophet that Isaiah? Maybe that was because Joseph was in the future and hasn't prophesied yet?

Interesting discussion. I think there is an error in Hannah's interpretation though. She is correct that Messiah Ben Joseph is Joseph Smith, but Messiah Ben David is not Jesus. He is the Davidic Servant identified in Isaiah and elsewhere. He is likely to be the same character referred to as the One Mighty and Strong in D&C 85.

Our current prophet will always be our best source of truth and safety.

Messiah ben Joseph has nothing whatsoever to do with the prophet Joseph Smith. LDS should never make the mistake in assuming it does.

Messiah ben Joseph is Yeshua first coming because its patterned after Joseph of Egypt.

I just hate the church can't keep there story strate, can't keep there ordinances the same, if it's a revalation of God. Then why go back and forth with things. Just look at the garments. They went from full coverage. And joseph saying that they can't be modified for it was from the lord. Then as soon as he died. They changed the length, then the material, then they went to shoulder straps. The current church is so far from what joseph taught its a shame.

I have never seen any prophet receive as much attention to himself as Joseph Smith. Every prophet and apostle in the bible declared the one true Messiah/Jesus, AND THEN THEY GET OUT OF THE WAY. Except for Joseph Smith, he keeps getting exalted.... almost sounds like satan.

Joseph Smith was a man and the worship of him by the Cult of Joseph Smith Foundation is Very Very concerning. She acts like it helped her family. I would not go that far. She is horrible to her mother and lived as a surrogate spouse to her father. Very very disturbing family cult. More and more of her followers leave the church than she realizes.
