Man kann im Grunde nicht in Worte fassen, was dieser Mann in seinem Leben er- und durchlebt hat. Für mich, da kann es keinen Zweifel geben, der beste Bergsteiger für alle Zeiten. Er ging in die Berge, um zu überleben. Für uns Normalos völlig sinnlos, für ihn die größte Sinngebung seines Lebens.

Sadly, the clunky closed caption that RU-vid provides makes reading the text such a chore that watching with any enjoyment is impossible for this particular film. But thanks anyway. I enjoy most of your videos I watch.

Man I'm glad I speak German lol, otherwise this would not really be watchable. For something like this you need to put a little effort into the subtitles and the translation. If community captions were still a thing I'd consider doing it myself, but alas, it doesn't work like that anymore.

should be this ean according to my quick research: 4009750216422. Director and writer is listed in the description of the video. It looks like the dvd version is also German only.

Schöne Doku. Leider ist der Ton völlig daneben, oft ist die Musik zu laut zum Gesprochenen. Und an einigen Stellen fehlte der Ton völlig.

Genau. Schade um die sicher sehr interessante Doku. An vielen Stellen ist der Musikhintergrund derart penetrant so dass man den gesprochenen Text nur schlecht versteht. Ich habe mir das nur knapp 25 min angetan.

Seems like a good documentary, but imposssible to watch with the subtitles.. and I need it in English and you just get confused and distracted from the content. Not adding subtitles integrated in the movie when theres an foreignn language makes it an easy thumbs down, sorry!
