Messy Home Office Makeover, Getting Ready For Autumn!

This week, I made over my messy home office/craft room. I am getting ready for Autumn and being at home more. I wanted to give my home office a makeover and use the space better. I added more Ikea Kallax Storage and I also hacked the Ikea Alex unit in last week's video, I will link to it below.
I painted the walls using Colourtrend wall paint in the shade "Aged Vellum".

I discovered your channel a few weeks ago. I love it. My Mom is hooked too. I love this makeover. I work full time at home. I have a handmade e-commerce business. It has taken me years to start making enough money to live on and feel so blessed I am finally there. I have a space in the garage to do my "dirty" work like painting etc, but most of my work involves sewing. I sew in my dining room and it has been looking less and less like a dining room with the addition of my heat press and office equipment. Last week I decided to go all out and retire the room as my dining room and turn it into my office/creative space to work. I am so excited to get it finished!!! Thanks for this video. PS. I LOVED your travel video to Bruges. I was so excited watching it. I love to travel and have been to Bruges twice. I am so in love with that city and cannot wait to be able to travel abroad again.

I just retired Jan 1, 2021. Stumbled into your video tonight, 1-26-2021. I’m actually in process of changing up the craft room. Just got new bookcases and desks so a friend or two can come quilt with me. Love your videos. So cheerful, love your hacks, really informative, you are very creative, and Blondie is sweet. Binging the past videos tonight so I can see what other goodies I can get ideas from you. I have to say you are very right, not going to a job everyday means I’ve had to change my routine and set aside time to do things that need doing, crafting and me time. Be well.

Your craft/office looks really good, a great creative place to work. I also think it was a great idea to make the smaller room your guest room. It’s great having people visit, you want them to feel comfortable but not so comfortable that they don’t want to leave😏

Love that green and it goes so well with the paper, which is super pretty. It's lovely that your office looks out onto the garden too. There's nothing better than looking at nature when creating. It's very inspiring. I love the idea of that hack, you're thinking of doing. Us crafters can never have enough storage, that's for sure. I'm trying to sort my things out too. I bought myself a labelling gun. Even doing that is helping me to sort everything out from putting dry foods in jars to my cubes of crafting supplies. Kathleen here...what about putting the chest of narrow drawers bettwen the kalax shelves and putting a framed cork board above the chest of drawers. Leaving the corner for a plant. love your mirror...you could even put the mirror between the kalax.

Your room looks gorgeous 🤩🤩🤩. I’m using the kallax range to reorganise my craft stuff. It’s been badly organised and stored in a gorgeous bureau and dresser I up cycled, but its grown so big so it got temporarily moved to the loft to allow me to reconsider my options. I did consider crafting from the loft but I’ve a huge landing so I’ve started to redecorate and redress that space. Looking forward to your ikea storage hack 💞💞💞. LOVE!!! I love my Kallax/Alex in my studio. I have a Hemnes dresser and they are amazing. I would check weight, mine got bowed in a storage unit when moving, movers piled my boxes of scrapbooks on top of it and the weight was a bit much! SO HAPPY you kept that GORGEOUS wallpaper!! Cheeky thumbs up! A beautiful day here in Michigan!

Your office space/craft looks stunning and peaceful. I have a garden flatlet which over looks the swimming pool, my son suggested that I change it into my sewing room. I already have a sewing room but because of Chilli-Pip, my cat, and my husband (all his charity work files and computers) I can never sew in peace. Your office would definitely inspire me to be more creative. I have a room which serves as my office, craft room, sewing space and altogether laboratory. The problem is, when I get started on a project I create quite a mess. So messy that I can't concentrate and it creates a creative block. But, if I clean my space than I don't feel like being creative for fear that I'll make a mess! The cycle is endless. Being creative is hard work at times ... but your space is lovely. xoxo

I think the wall paper ties in with the paint colour, it looks great. I don't work from home but I'm currently re-vamping my spare room that I use as my dressing room. It keeps becoming a dumping ground so I need to get it organised again because it is actually my favourite and most used room xxx

What a good idea, and such a beautiful room to get your creative juices flowing, you can look out.onto your lovely garden too. I store my fabric in my Kalax unit, no doors on it, just the fabrics folded around foam board and standing up so I can see it, if I store it out of sight I forget what I’ve got. Looking forward to seeing if you get that Hemnes and do the hack. x

Love your space, but love all of your space....a nice cozy cottage vibe. Me. I move a lot so, for me, I bead and have organized all my beads in pouches and stored in a roll-a-way buggy...Not moving anytime soon...but when it does happen again...I will be ready. Cheers! Glad to see your doing well. I was thinking you should build kinda of wooden canopy in your backyard to do all that wood stuff. Totally agree,why keep a guest room large and use a small room for your craft room. Guests don’t stay long and only need a bed to sleep in and somewhere to put a bit of clothes. I only have a 2 bed so my guest room is my craft room but I just have a sofa chair as I don’t really have couples,stay,it’s,only usually a friend. They will only usually be staying one night maybe 2 so I’m not keeping a room empty just for the odd guest
