as much as i love ozil, i dont think he is fit enough for arsenal anymore. he just isnt of the same caliber anymore because of he's age. he is way past he's prime. its time for us to move on from him. i am no big fan of the board at all but this decision i can get behind

Don't you see that in his style of football, he doesn't run as much as other players, but his ball runs for him! Look at all the beautiful goals scored over the past 4-5 years, Ozil is involved in all of them! Ozil is the missing puzzle, the one that we need so Auba and Laca can go crazy again! Look at the balls he is giving! Look at those missed chances form Iwobi, Auba, and a lot of them! Over the years you may lose on physics, but you never lose on talent! Talent is always there! His vision and passes will be there even when he is 90! Learn what football is about!

with partey and xhaka/ceballos behind him he has freedom to create chances. I understand people don't like his defensive work rate but that's because he's a natural #10 made for creating and building opportunities

@@MrHarule its ugly but it works, Mikel said it himself, beautiful football isn't a priority anymore. We all loved the beautiful Wenger ball but the team had to move on or get stuck at the past like we did for about a whole decade. Also, in his latest games (at least the most recent ones), he actually was not as lazy as people percepts him as and was running a lot. Mikel wanted 110% commitment from his players and for numerous time he expressed he was ready to give his all. So, i dont think his work rate was the problem but we could only speculate, the people at the training grounds would know better...

Ozil covered more ground that most of his teammate if you check the stats, Ozil is a world class player, if you think running around making tackles are the type of playmaker Arsenal need then you are clueless about football, KDB, David silva, even the great Bergkamp they don't play that way. There are reasons why Mourinho starts Ozil over other players in RM, and don't forget Ozil was in the first 11 for Germany too. He can take out defenders with his vision, passing or simple intelligent touch, his positioning creates space for other attackers too. Of course Ozil has his weaknesses, but it is up to the manager to get the best out of his players and play to their strength. So sad to see how the fans and board treated Ozil.

I'd love to see that. Partey to win the ball in defensive areas then pass straight out to Ozil to create the chances. He has very little defensive work rate, but that's fine for an attacking creator, managers should be able to setup the team around him - just hope Arteta sees this now we've got Partey and he puts Ozil back in the team

I think Arteta always recognize Ozil qualities as creative midfielder and want to play him out. We build this current team arguably to cover him doing most of the defensive work. But all of these political issues around the club and ozil makes him singled out from the team. Hes been training with the rest of the squad and give supportive comments for his teammates too. Its not Arteta decisions to leave out Ozil and sadly looking at the current situation, we might not see Ozil plays for Arsenal again. Heartbreaking.

Whatever u said not gonna happen. You will never see ozil playing wearing arsenal shirt. The board and the manager don't want ozil at the club. They don't want ozil to play for the club doesn't matter how good he is.

@@humayunkabir5837 I agree there's no hope now they even purposely left the squad inflated after the window to justify dropping him from the squad...they're desperate to get rid of him, sad really because it has nothing to do with football. He was ruined under Emery...didn't adjust well to his tactics nor did the squad to be fair...but they choose to scapegoat him after that and he was in and out of the squad until Arteta arrived. The 18 months under Emery really set the club back...in hindsight who knows what would've happened if we signed Mikel after Wenger left, we'd probably be having a completely different conversation.

@@Muzzy3112 Mesut has always been a player for whom his manager's support meant a lot. Between him and Wenger there was always a deep and mutual respect and admiration. Apart from that, even when he didn't play well, he created more chances than most of the other players together.

@@antoinedoinell Didn't he make almost all of the Arsenal's forwards better by creating chances after chances for them? Whenever he plays we play more beautiful football as a team which is testament that he did make the team better. It's not Ozil's fault that they missed their chances.

Unfortunately Partey came to late we should have bought him 4 years ago when Ozil and Sanchez were at the peak of there powers. Same story with Aubameyang. We would be competing in champions league if Ozil, Auba, Laca, Partey, Santi, Sanchez, and Pepe were on the same team.

Ramsey is a reason why Arsenal played beautiful football in long time, Ozil was only tip of the iceberg. Ramsey is a master of Wengerball. Ramsey and Cazorla are better players than Ozil.
