Following a global outage affecting Facebook and Instagram on Tuesday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg saw his net worth plummet by nearly $3 billion in a single day.
"The widespread outage affecting Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger proved to be a significant financial setback for Meta. According to Dan Ives, managing director at New York’s Wedbush Securities, Mark Zuckerberg incurred an estimated loss of approximately $3 billion in revenue on Tuesday morning alone, as the platforms remained inaccessible worldwide. Additionally, Meta's share price initially dipped by 1.5 percent upon the influx of issue reports around 10am ET, further exacerbating the company's financial challenges. As the situation unfolded, the share price continued to decline, reaching a total drop of 1.6 percent."
