Meta Quest 3 Update v66 Brings Possible New Features 

Imagine going to work with no pants because you had your virtual pants on

I wish I could screen share my phone to the quest 3 and have there like a virtual phone.

I'm hoping V66 fixes the Wifi 6E connection issues on the Quest Pro and Quest 3 (constant disconnects) that was introduced in V64 and still happens in V65.

Having avatars available on quest that look like the quality of the characters in The Seventh Guest would be cool

Still waiting to put my photos and videos around my house with digital frames.. And digital arts..

Since v64, they have taken away the "Show mixed reality objects" option, and still hadn't came back for v66....Please bring it back!!!

Didn’t the original oculus rift and the rift 2 have a watch that showed the time ? Also original quest homes had clocks and the clock would always show the correct time based on the internet connection. They should be able to bring this back pretty easy.

Here's a radical idea... maybe Meta could bring back the very useful feature that they decided to remove with the V64 update for no apparent reason. Namely, the toggle option for "Show mixed reality objects" in the 'Space setup' menu. By removing it, they've now made the Quest far more hazardous to use for people who are using it with restricted space. It also makes mapping out a room with objects and furniture completely redundant now. There is a thread highlighting this very issue on the official Meta forum that was started in March and is now 7 pages long, the last time I checked. With more and more users gradually coming forward stating that this is a real issue for them too. Then you just have Meta helpdesk bots spewing generic responses, asking users to report the problem. I've reported this issue twice via the headset; naturally, there is no response or resolution.

The adaptive brightness is much needed. Especially if you're watching movies in Bigscreen or VrChat. Even some other apps and mixed reality would benefit from it also. I wish you could control the settings yourself though like you can with a TV.

Maybe they will bring brightness that mirrors the sun, so we are instantly blinded when we put on the headset.

So what happens in the games where you have a watch or wrist thing like Star Wars galaxy’s end.

Lots of useless features - we'd need more SPATIAL stuff instead, like placing apps and windows on a certain location in the room. Using more apps parallel at the same time, better hand tracking without hands and arms dancing around all the time, and - MOST IMPORTANT - a better battery management.

I love how mega releases a new Quest update monthly, it’s a great pace to keep them ahead of others. Makes me think, Apple going to need a new strategy other then yearly updates with small revision in between

Wow funny. No news whatsoever on if version 66 is going to fix the scope storage problem. Seems like meta really just doesn't give a s*** about the modding community. Well that's okay cuz people also won't give a s*** about their stupid ass headsets and they'll lose a ton of revenue from people not buying their newer headsets and selling their current ones. I'm going to f****** laugh the day I find out that meta is going bankrupt due to lack of sales from their headsets having scope storage never fixed the day that happens. I'm just going to tell people I told you so

How about fixing the Notification panel and WiFi Connectivity issues which have been present since v64/v63

Could you cover some of the obvious defects that this headset has? Recently the 2 mm diameter 1 inch long plastic bar that our straps go through on the forehead section of the headset just broke off. Literally just went to Velcro on my head and the plastic piece broke off on both ends. Quest three act like this is some unknown issue but if you Google it a lot of people have had this happen. The problem is is that the headset is no longer usable at all. At all! Any headset that has a strap that needs to go through that cannot be used. I have three additional headstraps and None of them will work now.have you heard of this happening and quest three is trying to put it off like it’s the user abusing the headset which is not true. I’m trying to get this fixed right now and I’m still under warranty.

I think a wrist display would be better. Like we have in some games. It would be very useful if the VR Headset ever replaced the phone.

The AI assistant is interesting. Since Llama is basically download open source and there's no way you can run inference on the quest with the current models, Meta will need to host it, which I don't think they have done so far. Maybe Llama 4 or some kind of Llama 3 nano ?

Hey there! Thanks, as always. A little request that I think would make a huge difference for many of us (and many of your fellow VR RU-vidrs already do) is to create timestamps, so some of us that are looking for certain topics and not others can skip to the sections in which we are most interested. Not a huge deal, but I do find myself doing this for most other youtubers, as it's a time saver and wonderful convenience. Lately, almost everyone I am following on this subject matter is doing it, and it saves me a lot of time or effort. I am realizing how much I prefer this over having to skip through the video for something I just might be interested in hearing. It's this or just narrow it down to a few VR youtubers, and yet, I want to support you all with my thumbs up and comments. Thanks for the consideration, and keep up the great work! :)
