The Iron freehold collapse happened when the leadership(including me) left stoneworks and gave the pieces to Vulmire, before their collapse. This spiraled into a sudden warring states period which was reunited under a new name. The Hegemony of Montrium. (I came back to stoneworks)
Ok, so here is basically an overview: for many months, market55 was the most profitable store in rathnir, how long, well, i joined in late august and the store was still popular at that point, so yeah, it had maintained popularity to the point where its owner became the richest person on the server. Originally it was doing fine as a store, but when the server updated in October which removed the la spawn command among other changes, the store’s geographic location at almost the dead centre of the map made it somewhat more popular and at this point, the owner started a program to expand his territory in order to make it difficult for anyone else to compete. However, things started to go haywire, as lets just say, i can kinda trace the leadup to the incident all the way down to an event in late October known as the grand gathering, an election in the nearby state of carn, which at that point was a part of aldovir, which saw myself and drach competing for the caeronate, the official seat of carns leadership, which due to a severe lack of preparation on my behalf (and the fact that for me it was night and i was kinda depriving myself of sleep irl) lead to drach scoring a landslide victory, however, although he had beaten me during it, it would be the leadup to this where, following my running mate who had a similar viewpoint to my own switching sides during the leadup, he (drach) kinda decided to go with my plans to restore the sate and to upgrade the transport network, and it would be this that turned carn from neglected backwater to key player in the span of a few months, however, the state would face several challenges, such as the amount of ruins, sironian terrorists, a few large scale projects that needed some work on, and an incident where the former minister of defence was removed for attempting to conspire and replaced by another. However, a major test would occur in December At this point, due to a chain of events spanning months, the empire of Aldovir declared war on solea audal, which split in 2 shortly afterwards, yet its southern half, yimmu audal still began to war us. Due to our state being literally at the border, we knew we had to defend against a possible invasion from either our north or our east, especially when they set up a fort. However the tides turned when we managed to best them in 3 out of 4 successive battles, even capturing their fort twice during the war, however, a ceasefire occurred and plans were made to launch an invasion of our own, which would have a group deny them access to market55 but then, peace talks occurred between our 2 nations and the war ended with aldovir winning a total of 2 towns, none of which included the fort, the site of pretty much all clashes during the war. It would be afterwards where things became interesting The 2 empires merged to form the empire of astyllea just a week later, with the goal of brotherhood between the fractured halves of this empire being restored. However, it had been figured that the market had somewhat benefited from the war, allowing it to expand its territory to include massive chunks of astyllean territory, denying the empire from using land that it rightfully owned. This combined with the market exploiting others and being a hotbed for bandit activity, meant that it was becoming detrimental to any new players, as well as several old players as well. The owner of said market was also using his massive wealth, which at this point was now twice that of the second richest person on the server, to attempt to forge problematic alliances in order to nationalise territory he only nominally owned. It would be this that would be the straw that broke the camels back. In February drach made the announcement that the market was to be nationalised. The incident had begun. A strike force primarily from astyllea and its allies stormed the area in order to take down the market, declaring that it needed to go down. I was currently in my town minding my own business when suddenly i got the announcement and upon heading there to investigate, i joined in. We battled shoppers, customers, independent bandits, mobs and a storeowner who wouldnt open his door even after i made 6 requests for it to be opened. After an hour, the strike force had won completing every objective it had, except capturing the storeowner due to the annoying doors, which put up a better fight than anyone else defending the market. Afterwards, lets just say that the market was denounced by basically everyone in the span of a few days. Nowadays, the market has pretty much closed, with plans to replace it with the 0,0 mall, a shopping complex where the wealth would go to many shopowners rather than a single man, something that is currently underway. Funds are being headed by the state of carn and once complete, the original store is to be shut down, yet its former owner is allowed to have his own stall in the new mall, however, with supervision in order to prevent him from doing anything funny with his store again. Thats basically the story of the incident, from prologue to epilogue basically.
What would you say is the stronest nation in Eldham and Rathnir? and which of those two is the strongest in all of stoneworks? (I personally think Uldarash)
hiring mercs for wars is all good and fun until the Otherside gets backed into a corner and is scared look at merconis v onothukan, it may scare the shit out of the other side but if you don't win the first battle or don't have the money to spend on for more mercs after the first battel the war is already over. the first battle is always the biggest if you can't keep up the merc numbers then it's rip.
