Given Tom is a judge I'd imagine he sees these decks more often at events. I don't think he's dismissing other potential decks, just going by decks that make often.
I spend so many hours reading the results and attempting to find the results. Occassionally miss a few or see a few too late after production. it happens.
The problem With branded is not the deck it’s the players who play it .. a lot of them are thrash . And tbh the ycs events it won was a year ago if you exclude 3v3 events the decks gets worse the better it gets
Pretending like dragon link with bystials can’t play through most decks is criminal. Even through nib, ash, droll, etc I can still at least make seals and probably get regained on board no matter what happens.
literally gave them an honorable mention, because I couldn't cover them, I saw their results a bit late otherwise I probably wouldve swapped Lab with their spot for a spotlight, but that goes to show how much stuff is going on right now.
I’d also throw Gozen Match against VS since if they’re not running any backrow hate or can’t out it with Pantera or Cesar, they’re gonna struggle. Also for Branded, Retaliating C deserves an honorable mention because it’s a decent substitute in case you don’t have ash in your hand
@@ninjadandy9166 not quite. retaliating can stop the gimmick lock from happening, alpha is good (I’ve tried it) but it’s effectively a brick in that scenario. Granted retaliating can also be a brick; it does work against Purrely, SHS, Runick and Spright to name a few.
Branded is still fragile IMO. Can play through a lot more but also dies to very same things it did before. In addition to Bystials, floodgates, bagooska, and more
Its won a few nationals in the past couple months and taken 1st at a few regionals, and that’s without expulsion. You can also set up full board without even needing to resolve branded fusion thanks to quem. I wouldn’t let your guard down against it.
What would probably be the best cards to side against dragon link w/ bystials; I'm having a hard time against the match up whenever they go first. For more context, I wanna play rikka sunavalon on my next locals.
Honorable mention to rikka and Dragon link. I was gunna cover d link, but they came in a little late for me. When going thru results WCQ France was the one that had DLINK performance.
Oh just don't open with spells/ traps then the eradicator play won't matter. Look we all want a red reboot, but sometimes we just can't have it. NOR do we have gamma... so yah if they sack that play u eat it with a smile.
Honestly this format is weird. Vanquish soul is really good because it's counter's are different then the rest of the meta. Yea books are good but doesn't work with link up, imperm is good but tag out can happen and like you said with the ash thing. Yes some things hurt them but it's a slap than cry like ash branded fusion (for now).

VS doing well is gonna set a horrible precedent with these side sets moving forward. Komoney will keep pulling this rarity spread bullsht cause there wasnt any real backlash, we like takin it in the bum apparently
Did we just completely forget that Runick is still a deck? Lab and Branded can not be Tier 1; once they have a big enough target on their back they perform significantly worse.
The only runick deck that makes top cut in most events is a spright varient so he just put it under "spright" metioning runick as well as the other versions, listen before typing ;D
I mean you get puppet locked in the draw phase…there’s nothing you can do. Ohh, and I’m laughing at belle, crow, and any Bystial that tries to stop it while I have merc in hand. When duality gets here it’ll make it all the more easier 😊
@@devindavis7303 now try to stop a person properly using a bystial during the end phases and then u negate then they use it again on their own turn and they can very easily bystial the puppet before u get access to merc
Idk what it is distorting the color of your face, maybe the lighting and shadow from the mic, but it is very distracting in the video. Just wanted to mention it makes your face look orange and white at times
