Thank you for telling us that story in the beginning. It may seem like a small gesture to some but that was huge for the man that was down on his luck.
This was the biggest Hip-Hop/R&B collar at the time. That might be the remix beat and vocals over the original video. Then Nas feat. Lauryn Hill “If I Ruled the World” dropped and was another huge collab.
I just truly appreciate u mbd.. I think ive seen the comment and I hate to say overly dramatic shit but it's not overly dramatic.. this is legit one way to bring ppl 2gether.. you've found your way on how to do it ❤... and "let's talk".. I agree 100 percent, dialogue and interaction is how we end all the bullshit racial and socioeconomic shit in this country
Love the story MBD!! Always good to spread some positivity, God bless 🙏🏼 Edit: Also, pleaseee do some more Mary J. Blige if you can, she’s the queen of hip-hop/R&B
Mary J Blige is a legend. She is so amazing. Have you heard fellow Wu Tang member Ghostface Killah’s song called All That I Got Is You? It features Mary J Blige. In my humble opinion, it’s a much better song that this. And that is saying a lot because this Method Man song right here is legendary. If you haven’t heard it, I highly suggest you check it out.
Staytus, you make a good point. Meth and Mary is, in my opinion, the purest Hip Hop Love song ever because its adult and real, from a guys prospective. Its cross cultural. Its hard to believe that there would be a person who can't relate regardless of social class. Ghost and Mary, is real and great on a WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL! And unless its someone who grew up with a silver spoon, I don't know how the emotions of 'All that I got is you' doesn't hit home. Personally, I hate debating those 2 songs because the impact of both is incredible. Metal head, if you would considered doing another Mary J/rap combo song, consider that one. I, like most could see how All I Need hit an emotional connection with you and how you knew it would with your wife. All that I got is You, might have her in tears. Its an incredible song.
I have to be honest, I had been purposely watching reacts from white ppl trying out hip hop just to see your thoughts and if you see this from our point of view in Hope's it would make you see us in a way in contrast to how the media displays us. Thankfully, I have been impressed with a few reacts and have subscribed to them. But, you my man hold a great twist. Your sense of non judgemental listening is amazing. And your empathy and understanding are real. Best react channel and this is my first time watching. I know I'll be binge watching your reacts. Keep going bro!
Thanks for the share.. I was lookin forward to the reaction but after whatching the story I had to pause to respond.. Ive seen things like this as well.. Ive been on the viewing side the giving side and the recieving side.. So many people would say this is something that doesnt exist so that they dont feel obligated to live up to that type of good.. Thanks again for using youre platform to showcase the true good in the world
@@The987654321Boom The version you are thinking of is not the album version. The version you are thinking of is the (Puff Daddy Mix). The album version has a more grimy beat and Mary J. Blige is not featured on it. The version that Dirty is reacting to is called (The Razor Sharp Remix). It and the album version are produced by RZA.
Thank you brother. I fucking love Method Man!! there's a really stupid Adam Sandler movie on Netflix called The cobbler that method Man is in. Keep in mind I say "stupid" but I love stupid movies
You should do the Puffy remix of this song, It's more complimentary to the vocals, nicer and MJB has more parts. If you love Mary J. Blige's voice check out her cover of Sweet Thing.....
@@edgarordaz6054 I believe Method Man didn't want to sound "soft" at the time. I believe the Meth wrote this to his wife and didn't want to release the song at all but was talked into releasing this version instead but Diddy, Puff Daddy at the time, re-released the other version which was the original version? Idk I don't remember the whole story lol I think Puffy was also trying to push MJB more into the public too. But MJB's "Sweet Thang" will always be my jam!!!
Words can't really describe how big this song was to hip hop youngsters in the 90's. It would be unusual for someone not to pretty much know every lyric to this song.
"I gotta imagine this was very very popular" quite an understatement, but you're absolutely right. I imagine this was "our song" for every 8th grade couple in 1995 (or maybe just me?). This song was played ennnndlessly at every middle school graduation party/pool party/whatever else that summer. One of those timeless songs that takes you right back to a super specific time in your life. Meth never disappoints on record or on screen, but this is beyond special. After hearing him on 36 Chambers I could never imagine him doing a freakin duet, but this is perfection. If you don't know the backstory, he fought the idea tooth and nail until Lyor Cohen acquiesced to his demand for either 50k or a car (accounts differ). Forever indebted to Lyor's shameless bribery !
Thank for doing these videos.. they’re my new shit lol. Btw being such a fan of method man I hope you get to meet him in person one day.. he’s the coolest fucking human being ever period

Sadly, u are right. I was in the military in the early 2000s. I saw many things as I traveled the world. The only thing that was reported on the news was fear mongering, who to fight, and who to vote 4. Not once did I see the news report the average citizen, going out his or her way to help another person in need. You would think it never happens. I've seen news shows focus on asking their host about someone's dirty history, while the guest is trying to focus on the humanitarian efforts of his or her church and community.
Mary did a remake of "Stairway to Heaven" with Travis Barker, Orianthi and Randy Jackson. I think it was called the people's project or something along those lines. Also redid "One" with U2. I'm going to see her and Nas this coming Saturday. He's someone you should give a try. My favorite lyricist.
Check rza, shaquille o neal, method man no hooks the sickest beat one of the best hip hop flows they all went out rza and meth were rapin harder then in any other song you will thank me
Please PLEASE listen to the song by DMX-Angel...it saved my life twice..also I’ve been following you since under 200 subs since the beginning so I have a good feeling you will absolutely cherish and love this song as much as I do..god bless
Great story. Just an observation, what did their complexion have to do with that? You mentioned the couple was dark complected. I'm not bashing you. I'm curious because I've observed other white people do the same. I asked one of them afterwards & he didn't realize he said it.
I had the exact same reaction to that statement. Not being critical; just curious as to why that detail seemed pertinent to the story. Moreover though, sharing these kinds of interactions on your platform mean a lot!
I believe Black Americans go to church more than any other ethnic group in the U.S. Black people are economically suppressed group, but _heavily_ believe in charity & I think that mentality comes from the church.
Theres another version of it with a different beat, it was the most popular one. Check it out its deffinatly good and in my opinion better than this version.
