The first levels music struck a chord with me. Its starts depressing as you fight amongst the remnants of earth and then as you fight back with our last weapon hope shines through.
I love how the bosses also use the weird molecule like particles to their advantage, and they are not something that just benefits the player like other games
for an old game im amazed by the quality of this game,it has different feels from the other shoot em up games.The world and the lore seems connected with elder beings rather than some alien,this entity connected with human existence itself
Lots of the ideas in G Darius are in this game but its like a 'rough version'. Its cool to see what Taito could do with just some rudimentary scaling FX
...Or maybe they were huge fans of Stanley Kubrick and Pink Floyd. I mean, the second stage of this game is literally named after a lyric in "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond"(!)
You know, I think this game was indeed inspired by that movie. Why else would this game's "story" and atmosphere become increasingly surreal and psychedelic up to the end?
Xbox and PC got the Saturn version through the S-Tribute line by City Connection. Switch and PS4 were supposed to get that version too but they were cancelled because Switch and PS4 had the pre-existing ACA version
