In this chapter of my existing CD collection, I’m talking about the JUDAS PRIEST albums which I own. Not describing the music in detail so much, but just giving my thoughts on the albums. Once again, I couldn’t do a ranking, because I don’t own all of the albums. Having said that, JUDAS PRIEST are one of.my favorite bands of all time, and alongside Iron Maiden, they are THE quintessential pure heavy metal band, in my opinion! What are your favorite Priest albums??

(I didn’t include links with this video, because these albums are so well-known and easy to find), and you probably already own them anyway! :D)

Hi James!!! Nice Priest collection, hope you can get more of their stuff (studio/live)..... when it comes to heavy metal i think they as a band were the first to "create" the look (leather, studs) and classic sound in the late 70's/early 80's, that has to be recognized..... however later Maiden became a bigger and popular band. I still miss also a couple of their studio cds, the ones with Ripper, the first two and the last one. Also had the chance to see them a couple of times live and Halford too (--> the cover of his live album was taken here!!!) cheers and be well

The first Judas Priest album I ever heard was Screaming for Vengeance. I bought the record when I was 14 back in 1987. I still have that very copy and play it regularly. Painkiller is my favorite Judas Priest but Screaming For Vengeance is a close 2nd. I still have my original copy of Turbo on CD but it is missing the front cover. I am with you on Turbo, my favorite tracks are Turbo Lover, Out In The Cold, Reckless and Parental Guidance. Ram It Down is a stone classic IMO, Blood Red Skies is my favorite track on that one. I used to have that Essential CD years ago but gave it to my brother since I own every JP album. Great great video!

Thanks a lot, Steve! It's good to hear from someone who appreciates 'Turbo' and 'Ram It Down'. Cool stories about when you discovered the band, too! 'Screaming for Vengeance' is a killer album, so it's great that it played an integral role in your discovery of the band. It's their best album, at least for me! Thanks for watching!

Ram It Down is still a patchy album for me but I enjoy it more now than used too. Painkiller is a beast, my favourite album of theirs. Turbo is great and is hated on because they jumped on the Glam Metal train, Locked Is a beast of a song. Great video mate

Thanks, mate! Yes, I still don't understand that accusation with 'Turbo', because while sounding a bit more commercial, it doesn't sound glammy...they just had the glammy look for that album! But anyway, it's the music that matters, and most of the music on that album is awesome, in my opinion! Yes, 'Locked In' is a sick song, haha! 'Ram It Down' is a major grower of an album, for sure! And yes, 'Painkiller' is a stone cold classic! Thanks for watching!

Nice Judas Priest collection, James! I don't have a lot of Judas Priest albums in my collection as well.

Many years ago I saw two garage bands called "Nudist Priest" and "ZZ Topless". I bought Judas Priest "British Steel" and AC/DC "Back In Black" on the same day in late summer 1980. I was going into my Senior Year of High School. I believe British Steel is the first "proper" Heavy Metal album. Many bands altered their sound after British Steel, most notably, Saxon. On another note, I like Halford's solo material quite a lot. I wish the Ripper Owens era would have been named something else. Good music, but not Halford.

Cool stories, and it's great that these memories are a big part of music nostalgia! Yes, I agree, 'British Steel' was the first full-blown heavy metal record, in my opinion! I also like the Ripper Owens material (including K.K's PRIEST!), along with the Halford solo material and FIGHT! Thanks a lot for watching!

Not the biggest Priest fan here, but the ultimate Best-Of-Comp should be Metal Works from 93.

Thanks for the tip! Is that a Priest compilation, or a general metal compilation?
