In this episode I"m metal detecting an 1839 church site with the Garrett Ace 400 for 2 days between storms. I gained this 1800s church site from my sons friend. While detecting 1800s church I realize the home was bulldozed and the crumbled asphalt driveway is everywhere. But this girl detector toughs it out and scores! I believe that was the 3rd one last year. I haven't found a large cent at that site yet but it would be cool to find a coin that confirms the printed history.

I couldn't have hit the like button fast enough. We are so cut from the same cloth it isn't even close to being funny. I use a simple, entry level machine, tells me just what I want to know. I know it well and I hate change. Your persistence is proof to the pudding. Thrilled to death you found that Indian. Thanks for the video Deej. Great job.

Thank you so much Garnet. That was one of the reasons why I wanted to start making videos. I didn't feel that there were enough videos for the ace 400 entry level machine. As far as I'm concerned if it's in the ground you will find it with the ace 400 eventually depending on soil conditions. As with any machine no matter what the cost, if it's in the ground if you don't find it one day you'll probably find it another. No site is ever really hunted out

Brass plated copper I think. I don't have an electrolysis setup so I soaked it in vinegar to get the rust off and now it looks copper color

What's the best coin hunting machine. The ace400 or the t2+...?

Ace 400 for coins up to 6 inches deep and the T2+ for coins deeper than 6 inches in heavy iron. Now the T2+ has no trouble with shallow coins. I just have much more experience with the Ace 400. In group hunts I experienced more interference with the T2+ near Equinox machines. Ear piercing interference that changing frequency had no effect. Ace 400 is lighter than T2+ which is helpful as I wear a back brace.

How is the best way to find maps, any kind of info on the area you might live I'm asking because I want to learn about history and find things in the ground that support the info.

Some maps are online, some are available at local historical societies and the oldest you'll find at state libraries. I will be working on a video showing the process soon. There's never any guarantee that targets pulled from the ground will validate the history. But if it's there we must know exactly what our machines are telling us, to be able find what might really be hidden there.
