In this video I return to a site with over 200 years of history, looking for more 1800's treasure!
I find some awesome old coins and relics from when this site was a busy berry farm and orchard back in the 1800's and early 1900's. From the amount of horse tac I found, it's clear just how important horses were before machinery and tractors took over!
Join me on the hunt!

Second from the right in your wind up looked like part of a handle off a Stanley block plane. Great lot of finds. The bullet casing is similar to .22 calibure rat shot. The end of which is bent over the same as your find. Cheers John

Thanks for the info John - always appreciated! It’s a great old site, and just yesterday one of my detecting buddies found another 10 or so coins from the early 1800’s, including a gold rush token (copper half penny size). It’s a site that just keeps on giving!

Great relics Steve! Good depth. Think I've seen those lock escutcheons described as being off a leather satchel bag or similar.

Thanks mate. You could well be right with that escutcheon. I thought it was an old copper coin when I saw the edge of it!

Yep - it’s good fun, but challenging to find them over such a large area!

Always love your finds and filming Steve. Very informative. May I ask what brand is your hand digger, please. Thank you!

That hand digger is a $40 eBay job, believe it or not. I don’t think you can buy that particular digger any more unfortunately, or I’d buy a spare. I’d recommend any hand digger you buy have the goose neck step in it (as it’s easier to push down on than a straight handle), as well as serrated edges.

303 blank ww2 probably still live, has cordite strings in it.

Likely used to scare birds off the orchard? I’d love to know the full story!

Nice hunt! If you don't mind me asking, what digger are you using.

Cant remember the name but you can get them at minersden for around $35-$38. I have one. They are great and not as bulky as the red handled tyger digger.
