It's one thing a metal detectorist finds something phenomenal, it's another it can be shared with landowner and friends, but it's a whole other level that it is shared with FLO, news and the public which is a dream in and of itself that your find is shared with the general public! What a treat that is! It's a win-win-win-win. Congratulations guys!

They should apply the same rules for Belgium and France. They are sleeping here ! UK is the best place for Metal Detecting for sure, everything go smooth and well for detectorists when they find something. Congrats fellas ;-)

Great finds pity they do t have emergency numbers for flo and museum etc then there wouldn't be any criticism

People live nowadays to criticise people these fellows may not have done it perfectly and by the book but it was reported they were careful not to break etc, note it was a bank holiday they were took by suprise and imo they did alright. Not the proper way but it is what it is. Well done to em i say.

@@joeblacklock7339 we was in the same situation, we handed in the Roman licking dog hoard within 2 day ,not that we had to because it was not under TT ,but low and behold we got a slanderous write up from the head of the BM ,but our FLO said we did the right thing as there was dog walkers around when we found it

Sir it looks like you dropped your gold ring 10 years ago and I've just happened to find it on your property, this is now a historical find and must be confiscated. Please understand we are the experts and you must abide by our rules, you may get it back in say.... 50 years

Congrats. Too bad it wasn't a U. S. find where the history of the coins could be continued rather than stopped at a possible display. . Shows it's all about location . Get out and hunt and don't spend too much time trying to learn what all your detector is capable of.
