I cannot afford a decent metal detector I've been on SSDI now almost 20 yrs and I am (i am 63 now) barely making ends meet. I just like watching other people doing stuff like that.

Man, that huge ring looked sooo good! Hey I really hope you find something that will knock your socks off buddy. It's what we ALL hope for in the end isn't it? But you know like you said man the sights sometimes are worth more than a days finds, it was gorgeous down there and those rocks WOW.

Super clear water, sand that doesn't throw up a bunch of silt when you sift through it...makes me want to visit Lake Tahoe! With my latest build, a small work-class ROV. I swim like a rock...lol! Dual 9-dof manipulators, 30x40x60" (size of a big chest freezer). Air-conditioned cabin on pontoon boat with 14' square control room, and 10x14 moon pool. Bathroom, kitchen, barbecue grill. Doubt i'll be able to dive to the 1,640' depth of the lake though.
I had found a 20 dollar bill And a key in Indian creek over here with some friends and that's what inspired me to scuba dive all the time I love it i want to scuba dive right now you people are lucky you live by big lakes I don't that was on vacation
Man, looks like where I used to dive off of Cape Cod. Some of the rocks where about 50 to 60ft high though. I dove for "gold" lobster meat though back in the 80's and 90's then. Great video makes me want to do a little diving here in Florida looking for gold and silver. Going to the Caribbean in December and I'm bringing the CTX but can't go to deep. Thats what she said lol. HH brotha. PS Where was your dive flag? I work for PADI lol. Just busting your balls.

Great video and some great finds. How much did that big silver ring weigh? I'm a diver also and it always scares me when people go diving alone. Just be very careful. Also I didn't see any fish are there not any fish in that lake?. Anyway great video.
25.6 Grams of Silver ! ................... I saw a few big ones down there ! ......................... You are right Gem, I'm no supposed dive alone but my dive partner did not make it so I took a risk ............. +Ed The Beach Hunter I was in the US Navy & I got thru swimming by doing just what was needed. We had to either swim the length of pool & back or float on our back kicking to propel ourself & jump off side of the deep end and comeback up & they would grab our arm when we got to the top. That was in 1972. I don't know what the requirements are now. I have been married since I finished my 3 yr tour & came home & not reenlist at my dads encouragement due to my moms health, which was not that bad. They wanted help at their recently bought pizza shop. I have 2 great boys ages 33 & 35. But I still wish I had stayed in and traveled more. I did get to Japan. As far as hunting - all the money we had saved up for teeth on the bottom due to chemo destroying my teeth & the money for my detector we gave to our oldest to keep he & wife from losing everything & could file bankruptcy as they have their 1st child due in November so I doubt I will get my dreamed of Garrett 400. I have everything but the
+Christie Willey - 400 detector and the padded can case. Mom died 3 yrs ago this month after battling several falls hitting her head each time. The firs that started the chain of events not from her back was she got off the chair lift before it reached the bottom and stepped into air, hitting her head very hard o front door doorknob and falling and landing about 25 ft away from original step into air on same side of her head. She had several falls after so her Braine just could never heal completely. She had massive stroke and died after a 17 month bale. Now dad, 80 yrs old has had 2 ER heart surgeries and they are saying he also has Fibrosis & is on O2. Oh well such is life. If I don't e the detector I will just sell off the the rest of the goodies that go with it I bought piece by piece. I recently balanced on edge of tub putting all my weight on the edge of my ribs on the right side & either broke or cracked several. Have to see Dr, but takes several weeks to,get in.

Hi Ed,There's nothing like finding gold under water.When I was in Punta Cana,there was a local Dominican guy in the sea every day,he finds 5 rings a day.I bought a diamond ring off him cheap £40 pounds.It was small with 5 diamonds 25 points rose gold 14k.I just sold it.keep going bud,good work!

I noticed you fanning the soft sand. 2 things. 1) I have a chicken fry basket (round) I've used when diving ** you scoop it into sand by hand just like your tall scoop, it sifts itself . Sells for $5.99 at any hardware store. I have it corded with a spring loaded squeezey to my wrist, so I can let it dangle when not in hand. 2) where do you get your sand scoop with long handle? I'm by Chicago & I have no shops close by. I'd have to order one. Its very nice.

Lake Tahoe is so deep. Connects with Pyramid Lake north of Reno. Both are sooooo beautiful!! Did you know the Navy uses that area for submarine training. Lived in Reno for about 2 years and loved the lakes....

Ive got to get scuba certified, but when I do, you wont have to hunt it alone again, im down! My friend I detect with has a lung condition and cant scuba, which sucks, otherwise I would have already done that. But if you go often, hit me up, Ill hunt with you!

I've done this in New Hampshire lakes. I end up with piles of aluminum cans/chairs, fishing crap, and old beer pulls/tops/cans. Are you pulling a float ball for safety? I didn't see one on the footage.

Okay it might have improved now but, try putting the GoPro somewhere else, maybe on your arm, or somewhere else (not on your head that gets in the way with the mask) Just somewhere else and don't use a bad editing software that can have a big impact on quality, try sony vegas pro 1080p 60fps

cool vid........ I did a dry lake in denver 1 yr, they drained it to get rid of the goose crap that killed off all the fish lol. I found 15.50 dollars in an hour 7 rings 12 knives and 12 sun glasses, in coins i had 2 walker halfs silver war nickles and mercury dimes. Was alot of fun
you were SO right, lol. that ring was totally fake! after i seen it cleaned up it had rust. it was stamped 14k, and .585, which is a overkill red flag. bummer. anyway, headed to a dry lake to find the real deal! or maybe some raw gold. happy hunting! i sent my # in private message

Loved the video and content. Absolute gorgeous place to dive at. One suggestion would potentially be getting a new Gopro and just using one of the bicycle handlebar mounts on the metal detector. Record in 1080p and your videos will be that much better. But still loving the content!

Hi Ed,What metal detector do you use when you are diving freshwater lake? Been looking at tiger shark and sand shark but was told that freshwater I should not go with pulse induction. I plan on doing some beach diving so would it be best to have both types? Never used underwater detector so wanting to gather info before I make the plunge. Thanks,Mike

Thanks for sharing your underwater adventure. I always wanted to try diving like this. This made me wonder: if something went wrong would you be able to get to the surface to breath? Is it difficult to swim back to shore with all that gear if you needed to breath the old fashioned way?
Lol ! Thunder ! The number #1 rule is don't ever Scuba Dive alone ! I broke that rule but didn't have a choice because my dive partner flaked on me. I have about 200 Dives under my belt so I feel I can, but I advice against it ! I have a quick release to my Integrated Weight System in my BCD so I can dropped the weights quickly and go to the surface if in trouble ! Do it ! More likely white saphire. Used as a poor imitation of diamond and the size of the ring leads me to believe they are white saphire. Also I’ve never heard of a white topaz, they come in yellows and blues

I live by Lake Tahoe and it's so weird to think that no one goes back in to get things they lost since the water's so clear, I spend most of my time there throwing things and diving to get it back cuz it's fun lol
