I went metal detecting in my old school yard and found a mystery! I'm hoping for some help to figure out what it is. Maybe an old watch piece? It was a great day to be out. One of my favorite retirement activities!
Hi Julie! 😃👋 What a fun and interesting hunt. All of your finds looked well aged, so cool! First piece I agree with you, it was the decorative outer ring of a a pocketwatch, probably gold plated in its day? The second and third piece looked like a screw top to a pharmaceutical bottle? The last items I don't know but have only one idea. Maybe they were dowels, a pin and a bracket for a steel or metal desk or piece of furniture just as it would have been made back in the day if the desk or furniture were wood, with dowels and pins never having used nails for their pieces. Really cool area you were detecting in, Im sure it has a neat backstory lost in time💯 Cheers ☕
