pretty cool that you are returning the valuable items. These little flies we call them 'no-see'em' as in they are so small you cannot see them but yeah they literally bite a chunk out of you, nasty.
Nora, the lion head jewelry is likely stainless steel. The various acids you have are used to determine the karat of what you already know is gold. It does not screen for gold/no gold. Stainless steel will pass the acid test like 22K gold. You need either an XRF device or measure the density of the piece to determine whether it is gold or not. I learned this the hard way when I had a beautiful "white gold" ring that tested 22K but was far to light to be gold....broke my heart. You can measure density using a jewelers scale and a small container of water. There is an episode on Bottle Cap Poppie RU-vid channel and also on Fun with Jim RU-vid. Good luck, I hope it really proves to be gold.
Nice that you returned the phone; I always try to do that, too. P.S. Love how you "label" each find in the lower left-hand corner, and how you add the little "clinking coins" or "cash jingle" sound whenever you find a coin. :D
Shows what an amazing person you are, going out of your way to find the person that owns that phone. It's so enlightening that there are still good people in this world.
Those Garmans sure were great before I had a phone that could do the navigation. It sure beat using a paper map and watching for road signs. I believe we still have ours and it still mostly works. I remember when we last used it, it was getting to where it was freezing on us. The touch screen required pushing with your fingernail or it wouldn't detect you touching it. It was like that from day one. As far as I could tell, it looked just like the one she found.
Hi Nora. Just wanted to say what a wonderful person you are. To return the lost property to the ones who lost it shows a degree of selflessness that's a very good person. YOU ROCK!!! Woohooo!! We need more people like you. You're also an attractive young lady. Bless you, and thanks.
Yeah, I agree with you... I'd like to be able to metal detecting her bikini. Who knows, I might find some piercings? OK... I have to admit it, sometimes I even disgust myself... :P
The way the leaves were moving in the water when you found the phone was really cool. Pulling all the trash out of the water you're doing us all a huge favor. Thanks
My entire family are treasure hunters.. My grandfather started the regional treasure hunters club not too too far from you. We do dredge and regular detecting. fun stuff...the best part is returning things to people that have been lost for years!!...and finding gold and silver, of course :D
Jokingly referred to as the “Maine State Bird,” black flies are one aspect of the Maine outdoors that most people would prefer didn’t exist. Dotting the air in early spring, these tiny bugs have an annoying habit of flying into people’s eyes and ears. And their bites can be especially itchy.
Thank you for your public service ! I was able to return 4 high dollar phones last year . I think I kept up with you . I love seeing the excitement when I return a lost treasure .
Hi Nora awsome video ! The narration on your power station is right on ! Being portable is pretty cool ! Anybody looking into solar it would be a good way to go to immediately experience the advantages ! and scale up if they needed more ! I have solar and been off the grid for years ! Zero energy bill ! I am not hooked to the grid any body with a larger system could have the utility send them a cheque each month ! I continuously have people that have switched over come up to solar and wish they had done it sooner ! Last weeks video on the long beach on France to cover it properly with the depth change With the tide would take over 20 dives ! Getting bit in the bush is one of life's little joys ! Number one rule in the Bush ! Bring toilet paper ! Number two rule in the Bush Bring toilet paper ! After that compass bug spray phone etc. World is facing a medical emergency ? Buy toilet paper! Was kind of scary at the start of the video with the camera arm pointed forward out the window ! I had a quick flash of it whipping back or hooking something. Thanks for explaining how they grade gold with chemicals And HAVE A GREAT DAY !
Great video! I was on vacation in Germany years ago and we were eaten alive like you were by what looked like big mosquitos! I had bite scars for months afterward.
Great episode, loved that phone return part. Sometimes it feels that the greatest feeling is when you can find the owner and return their belongings, not the value of the item. Last year I found a phone at the beach searching with metal detector, I was happy to find it. Then, searching for the owner, finding him and shipping it made me feel so good 🙂
The lion’s head pendant looks uncannily like the one you found on your ‘I found gold in the Santa Fe river’ video from a year ago, can’t imagine why people would keep losing these things all over the US.
I love this one! You always have the best finds. I like it when you get excited, the sound you make are so hilarious! Thank you for taking us on fabulous trips around the world.
Hi Nora i love how honest you are not a lot of people would go that far to return some ones phone well done take care and let me wish yo a happy new year💖
In the Summer of 1970, a buddy and I went to a favorite lake in Ann Arbor, near the University of Michigan. The semi-humongous lake had been drained, months before we arrived. The lake bed was mostly dried,....but still gave way beneath our feet,.....(we thought the lake bed looked like semi-dried cake). There were tons of treasures around all the docks. Easy pickings! We found many coins, jewelry and sun glasses from every era. Keys by the 100s. And fairly well preserved "collectibles". Steel milk cans like would be used at a diary farm, a mostly intact wicker baby carriage,....something from the early 1900s. My best find that I still have,....a Disney cartoon character,.....sitting in a 1930s era toy car, the wooden wheels were still intact.
Nice video, looks like that is a fun thing to do. FYI, putting anything other than mail in a USPS mailbox is illegal. The mail carrier can confiscate it and it will get destroyed.
Black flies are just outright vicious in the early summer that area. I use a LOT of OFF when I'm out there with my camera. In the last couple of years, Peekamoose has seen an explosion in popularity (since COVID)... you used to be able to go there any weekday without a permit, or weekends with an easy to get permit, but now it's jam packed 7 days a week during the summer and they've had to station rangers there to check permits.
She's back in the USA! I do remember the clouds parting suddenly and the warm sunshine replacing the gloom, that must have been right when your plane touched ground. :D Look at the bright side,Black Fly bites are infinetly better than Black Bear bites. I don't actually know if you are back here or if it's old footage but this post was fun to write anyhow.
Definitely old footage! It’s been near zero Fahrenheit weather here for about a week. Before that it was in the teens and 20s. This is definitely from last summer.
Great video and finds. Good you retuned the phone. Looks like the same black flies we have here in Maine found you. Some people swell up with allergic reaction as well. They really suck.
There are still good people in the world and you're one of them 😇. One of the reasons I like watching your videos. That and they are really put together well. Your intros are always great 👍
First of all, the move you made with the mobile phone is very nice, I wish you were ok and did not suffer an infection!! Another amazing video and thank you for sharing it with us!! I wish my best!!
Great video!!! Costa's or pretty expensive sunglasses, but I never saw a pair that wasn't tinted. You are a CHAMP for diving the blue hole. That water is COLD!!!!
Another brilliant video Nora, aren’t you just the best. Massive treasure is waiting for you somewhere just a case of finding it. Take care when you’re making these videos please
Nice. without this video I never would have suspected such a nice swimming hole in NYS, let alone such clear water. Nice finds - anyone ever claim them?
Hi Nora! Great vid😇 It's nice to see longer video with preparation, gearing and coming underwater. I think will be good to see your underwater reaction when you find something nice. This stick is also perfekt. Greetings❤
Right On!!! U really inspired me... I've been wanting to do this for years now... exactly what you are doing! Now I am splurging on equipment for this summer & finally doing this.. And I thank you very much!👍😉🇨🇦
Awesome job and I enjoy your venturous journeys!!! Continue paying it forward when you find others property and giving it back to them . Blessings to you always!! 🥰🌻🌻🌻💛💛😊🌱🤗👍
Love the editing tricks. I'm betting you enjoy returning stuff to the owners, when you can find them, just as much, or maybe even more, as when you find them underwater. That iPhone looked like a 13, which I believe is the newest one available. Thanks for sharing this adventure.
Really nice video! As always, it's just enjoyable to see your diving/detecting videos. I agree with Maddy! It's nice to know that there are still good people out there that do the right thing! Kudos to you!! One quick question! Is that low tire pressure warning light still lit on your dash?! I'm sure it's been taken care of already!😉😉

I’m in southern Vermont, have you ever hit any spots over here? Also wondering if you could tell me what kind of metal detector you use!! Any other equipment that is a must have for you? Do a video on your setup, willling to bet it would be really popular
Nice video, Nora, and some good finds. I wasn't anticipating any big gold finds as they're usually at beaches. Well done for being able to return the iPhone and happy to see that Maddy msged her thanks. And what is wrong with those flies? Don't they know about all the good stuff you do? 😅 As always, stay safe 👍🏽 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
NORA!! I loved the teleportation scene, lol. You're so much fun. What up with those vampire bugs!?! OMG that was crazy. Great filming and editing. When you are scubaing do you have somebody watch your belongings on shore or just trust people not to mess with them?
Great video Nora! I love the way you get so excited when you find really cool stuff! So cool to watch your videos. Thank you for sharing! Awesome finds too!! Take care! And what in the world were those bugs! Holy cow!! Hope you're ok!
I love your find and return videos. I have lost a few phone before and it is quite unnerving, always heartwarming to know that some people actually get them back because of kind folks like yourself.
That is crazy Nora did you figure out what bit you I was thinking black nates! I am hooked on your videos love them your a great person giving the items you find back to the owners if there was more people like you out there.
@@michaelbashaw2423 Someone mentioned she may have been bitten by leeches and the bugs were just getting a free lunch. I tend to think that may be the case.
Omg great job Nora. Awesome feeling giving someone back what they thought was lost forever. I did a hunt once and actually had gnats in both my eyes. I now wear special goggles when hunting in the woods in warmer weather. I guess bug spray might help but some bugs just don’t care. Hope you are finding awesome treasure. Cheers.
Do you think they were gnats? I’m in New York and I don’t remember getting bug bites like that from anything other than a mosquito of course. But not blood like that. May I ask what part of New York you were in, Nora? I’m in the Albany, Saratoga, Lake George region
No those were not knats that attacked her. They were some type of fly. If she replies. I’d like to know as well. But I’m sure she rather forget that trip lol.
@@jasonfaber2870 You are probably right! Another person commented they may have been leeches that bit her and the flies were just there for a free lunch. That sounds plausible to me
It's so good to see you back out with your scuba kit!! Great location to dive, despite the bugs 😄 I'm still hoping Jackery will consider an Australian unit 😉
Great video! Finding the Iphone 13 and that 18K pendant was sweet. Question though, did you find out how long the phone was in the water and did it still work? I have a 13 and I heard they were water resistant. Keep beeping! Oh one more question, have you ever found any natural gold nuggets while scuba diving/metal detecting? If so and you got it on video can you post a link or something? I'd love to see that.
Ms Nora, great scuba diving for treasure! Thank you for sharing your finds! I think the Lion pendant was a neater find than the phone! Even if the pendant was just silver, it's quite impressive! Hugs and stay warm! 🤓😉
Great video, the lion pendant is more likely stainless. It passes the acid test. Or it could be gold plated so make sure you scratch a second time on the same area of pendant to get to the metal underneath and test again. No stamp and very large so it is more than likely too good to be true but it's still very cool. That spawn action figure is cool too and may be worth more than the lion pendant shockingly. Your very sweet for returning the phone. Great job and awesome videos.
I think people used those garmin nuvi in their car for gps some years back. Good finds! Keepin our waters clean too! I live in upstate NY. We have a little snow this year not that much! Stay safe!
It's almost as if the people didn't even notice a scuba diver (Whose nice to look at by the way) in their favorite swimming hole! Some of those items would really hurt if stepped on by a swimmer, so thanks for getting them out of the water! Awesome of you to go to all that extra work to return that phone!!
