Thank you very much for this video. Question If the coil is going to create a vacuum when put into cold water, could you not just run a vinyl tube from the coil to the top of the handle? That way it's only sucking in air and not water.
Ive been 3d printing alot of parts using ABS plastic. What about using ABS filament and melting it to weld the coil in place? Or using and ABS/acetone mix and letting it set in place as long as the acetone doesnt ruin the wire coating I guess. I was going to use resin but I glad I watched this vid. Thanks mate.
Thank you very much Woody for this wonderful piece of information and benefits. Please: 1- With regard to shielding the pull coils, is it possible to use paint on a strip of paper and wrap the entire coil with it? What do you think about the shielding tape made of nickel, copper, polyester and acrylic materials?
Hallo sir, thanks for sharing. I would like to ask if the thin wiring which connects the two carbon sides is also connected to the negative of the battery (ground). Thanks in advance.
@@DetectorModsThank you sir, what is your opinion on polyester resin? Can we use it as a glue or for other purposes taking in account its low dielectric constant?
@@DetectorMods What about cases in which the Tx coil is in the same housing with the Rx coil? A small expansion of the foam will move them from the balance point! Is there any appropriate glue like a resin which i can pour it over the coils and securely stabilise them in the preselected position?
Hallo sir. I have purchased both paints. 54 alone is giving somehing between 150 - 170 ohms. 34 is giving something between 5-10 ohms. The company told me that 54 is for shielding up to GHz range while 34 is for 50-60Hz. The analogy for making a 80 ohm liquid is about 8 parts of 34 and one part of 54. But again it depends on the absorption level of the surface we paint, and the thickness of the layers we paint. I tested on paper and wood.
❤❤❤ thnks woody I make one 42 inch it’s You need good graphite, because graphite is made by myself and its connection is weak, but it works well for me. Thank you for all your videos, experiences and the amount of information. If you were close to me, I would give you a gift of very beautiful old coins. Unfortunately, I cannot deliver them to you due to state restrictions, so I can only thank you very much.
@@DanielSchweinert My advice to you is to buy the ready-made file from Woody's website detectormods Measurements are 30 mmHenry Resistance does not exceed 0.8 If you want to make wire, you will need a wire with a diameter of 0.15, 0.20, or 0.1. All of them work. The number of strings does not matter much. From 41 to 71, the number of turns. I do not know how to calculate it. I am a thousand and I measure the Henry and the resistance. You will also need an LCR meter You will need graphite paint You will face the problem of controlling the resistance in large coils, as well as the problem of the weight of the winding when finished with the ends of the wires together. The resistance and henry must be the required. And good luck
I would like to get enough litz wire for a couple 8-10" coils , i was just going to use multiple strands of 40-44 gauge wire, and try my luck with that. i was thinking (you know how that can get you in trouble) about possibly braiding the tiny wires maybe braid it over a length of pla plastic filament and possibly wrap some between windings. With a .3 to ,5 mm thick . And about 12mm wide nylon or something between layers. Basic treating it as a high voltage transformer winding.. not sure if it would help that was part if the whole point, i know basically nothing about detectors, you thought me everything i know.. im the type of person who wants to build everything their self.. i recently learned bedrock at the coast of NC usa, is over 10 thousand feet. And it is the remains of. The roughly 30k feet tall mountains that was the piedmont region, nothing but rolling hills well under 700 feet now, over a slate belt with quartz vanes and gold no one is mining any more,,, I'm in the foothills in the north west of North Carolina,. And heard about a gold mine in my area. It closed because it didn't produce enough for a professional mine. Maybe th good part of the vein is over 1k feet down, or maybe it's just not there! The slate belt has produced nuggets over 20 pounds 55-60 miles from here!
Excellent video thank you I'm working on an emi shielding top cover Don't know if there is much point or weather it will even work. Tesla has a plastic that they made to shield the emi from there motors just can't get a hold of any
Very helpful - im getting more interested in designing a coil but dont need 100 mt of connecting cable lol id liketo know how to connect to the internal Litz Tx & Rx how many windings? What abou shellac or that old fashioned caisien horse hoof glue? What about balsa as a main frame? Yeah i built r/c planes once lol
Great video! Though I can't find the green PP tin coated wire anywhere All i can find is PVC insulated ones Could you give us some pointers? Thank you!!!
Hi, and thanks for all your videos, i have a couple of questions, what is exactly the name of this cardboard used as shield and where to sourve it? Can i use other kind of cardboard respecting size and thickness? I have a noisy commander 11 i would like to repair myself following your tips. Thanks in advance
Hallo again sir, i would like to ask your opinion on using as a shield for ground capacity, a simple aluminum foil wraped around (not closed loop) seperately on a Tx and an Rx coil in a DD araingement. Will it work without diminishing the quality of the input signal?
Eddy currents will form on any material, if you can wave the material near a coil on a PI you straight away know that the material is generating eddy currents as you can hear it, this why carbon based paint does not make a noise.@@johng.-jeg7809
great info mate like if you wanted to make a nugget finder coil say 15 inch , how many windings would you do on that , 19 windings, ??? and are the windings the same in every coil, is the coil more better with more windings or less , sorry about a lot of questions not tec savy but you make it so interesting the way you explain stuff as i not good at reading and writing but good with my hands making stuff can normally nut things out, a bit of trial and error and testing
I have a mine detector. I wonder if i could and how to transform it into a gold detector? Another question is "How to connect this mine detector (with no screen) to a mobile phone with certain application from google play?
@samiware1704 you can add bluetooth module to the circuit if you want it to work on phone, or add a USB port. As for how to do that is beyond my expertise but I'm sure it can be done.
