the absolutely beautiful range that brittany has with her voice and the very cool rhythms here some professionally gifted musicians damn ladies & gentlemen
IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWAKENING (2017) To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die
watch "Britney does opera", also, Britney doing "Queen of the Reich" in an Edinburgh karaoke bar after a show, then she got about half in the bag (both on RU-vid)
Nice to meet the lady with the great music taste. Hi Lizzy.🤘🤘 Yep, good one to start with, most reactors start with this song. School is more important than RU-vid, we'll be here when you have time.
UTA are Canadian, from Victoria ,BC. Formed in 2007 by lead singer Brittney Slayes(Hayes) and drummer Scott Buchanan. Guitarist Grant Truesdell does the harsh vocals. Andrew Kingsley on guitar does some clean vocals. Bassist here is Nikko Whitworth, he left in 2018 and Nick Miller took over. Grant has a Twitch channel, I think Andrew does too. This song is the first song on the 4th album, Apex. The entire record tells a story that is continued on the 5th record, Abyss.
Brittney has also sung a song on the latest from Star One. Star one being another project of Dutch musician Arjen Lucassen. His main project is Ayreon(prog rock/metal opera ), which you haven't done yet. Try 'The Day That The World Breaks Down', 11 singers on that song, you may recognize some of them. Don't know if you ever heard of Ed Warby, he plays the drums in that one.
It gave me no option to allow or leave the comment, sometimes it'll allow me to let you post it but I don't have any requests so I guess RU-vid is bein stinky. 11 singers??? I gotta check it out! Thanks for the continued support Chris!
How cool is this that drummer is killing it love how they show them your in heaven watching this keep it metal I can tell your wife is a metal head very cool
All right! Brittneny Slays! Has Lizzie watched her in Star One - Fate of Man with Arjun Lucassen and Michael Romeo from Symphany X? Drummer for it is Ed Warby from Gorefest. Lyrics are a little nerdy but the music rocks and Brittney's vocals are awesome. Yet another awesome rabbit hole. Good luck with school, stay safe, keep rocking.
I almost fell out of my chair laughing at your fixation on the drumming, completely ignoring the legendary vocals from Brittney and the crazy guitar and bass virtuosity. I mean, yeah, he's an amazing drummer, but _dude_...
I'm not a drummer, but from the looks of it, Scott's heel toe technique seems more "front forward". It's more like a ball of foot/toe technique lol. I wonder if that's the reason why he wears those very thin soled drumming shoes. No thick heel to get in the way of his almost "floating" like technique. Or he has a longer beater but shorter throw(notice it strikes above centre), that gives him a high strike velocity, and with high spring tension/light feet, the first strike in a sense bounces back off his foot and it causes a rebound strike. Left/rebound left, right/rebound right. Almost like the same physics of a snare double stroke, light grip allows the end of the stick to pivot in your hand from the rebound energy of the 1st strike, bouncing back off your fingers to get the second hit. Or I'm just blowing pure smoke out of my a** lmao seeing as I'm not a drummer 🤣 Cleanse The Bloodlines Abyss Legacy Soulbound Those are my personal favourite UTA drumming tracks.. Glad you enjoyed them! Subbed from Toronto 🤘🇨🇦
Yes! Almost like middle foot- toe instead of heel toe technique :D Thats actually a very concise breakdown for a non drummer! Your speculation could be more right than you think! LOL Like a foot paradiddle. THANKS SO MUCH Z! I'll be checking more out!
Awesome Reaction !!! Yes By All MEANS !!! Get him into the UTA universe!!! This is just a mere tip of the iceberg with these incredible people... Cheers! Hope to see more UTA.... (you will not be disappointed) Apex + Abyss are THE best 2 album/ concept story albums I've ever heard.... give it a Go... hope to see more, even if it is lyric video, it is all amazing
Iron, if you want a good look at this style, there's a drumcam of Helloween's - Eagle Fly Free with their late first drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg (1989 Live in Japan). They're the original power metal band. 🤘🤘
For a great vocalist, Check out Geoff Tate from Queensryche on Take hold of a flame, live in Japan. For a great drummer, check out Vader, Silent empire.
Let your special guest be your guide. UTA is a great band. School and work and a YT hobby? Sure, no problem. (bitd, I did my engineering job while taking 8 hours of Biology and Management courses at night... and still picked up the guitar now and then.... 2 kids and a family, too... no problem!!) Don't stretch yourself too thin, just make sure you are on the path and pushing hard). Lizzy : Tonight We Ride... he wants more harsh vocals? Give him more harsh. This would be the wrong time to go Legacy on him (tho it's one of my favs).
My wife loves this comment :D I'm able to do it I just don't want quality for any one of my ventures to drop but it's all a balancing act :) Thanks Randall!
I think you might like some of their stuff from the previous album, "Time Stands Still." It's got more of the death metal vocals that you seem to like. The production quality isn't quite as good, though.
One of the things I miss from the new album is the lack of bass compared to the album this song came from, at least to my ears. It's kinda understandable since they didn't have a full time bassist at the time, but still.
Apex is my favourite UtA song, but most of that whole Album and Abyss are generally great. And holy shit you're a drummer but you don't have any Band Maid or Love Bites reactions. You need to fix that. Try: No God or Blooming by Band Maid Raise some Hell by Lovebites
