Corey and other members have said, that if they ever lost the passion to do Slipknot, they would stop doing it altogether. They've evolved with every album and I love this track, Corey's voice sounds the best since Iowa, I'm really looking forward to WANYK.

Personally I really like it and I love that they keep on going! I mean, yeah, I do I like there first album more than the rest? Yes, but that's just becuase its heavy and intense and they were insane back in the day, there getting older now and dont think of themselves as kids anymore, they still want to keep doing this becuase this Is what they've done for the past 24 years, and there not 23-31 anymore, clown is 51 now(oldest member) so I'm just glad that they keep doing this and love there fans more than anything! Also they all said back in the day, that if it got to a point to where there playing, JUST to play, they would stop, they havnt stopped. So there just going along in life, which I fully support.

Love it. And btw they do a new mask every album, and if their hardcore aggression is turned down from their first few albums they outside of Mick were heavily into to drugs and drink. It’s called maturing. Slipknot is magic in a bottle that will never be recreated.

Maybe they are not angry anymore. Artist evolve with there music. If they stayed the same as there first album then people would complain that they are making the same music. Either way people are gonna be unhappy. Honestly I love the passion Corey has when he talks about the album during interviews it’s awesome. Happy for them as a group to be enjoying the music again

Still fire to me ! I think it also has to do with them being smarter and sobering up. Especially Corey. It always seems like some bands like best and hard albums there’s always some group members that are under some influence. So sometimes the anger fades out but the pain and lyrics are there. But as I saw in another comment, someone said this is a softer song. So I’m ducking stoked.

Unsainted is one of the best songs of Slipknot. I think it's at the same awesomeness level of their old songs. Usually we get attached to the old ones so we always feel that the old songs were better somehow. My point of view.

I'm a old fan and listening to this is clear to me that they keep getting better and better. Money ain't got to do with anything. If you follow them, you will see that most of them have been through shit and now they are back and rocking, showing why they are still the best heavy metal band.

I think the reason their older stuff was better is because of how complicated their older stuff was. The drums in their older songs were so insane and had allot of weird technical grooves. The new drummer is good but Joey just had such a creative mind

One thing i have realised is that Jay uses more his crash cymbal than Joey. I believe Joey prefers hi-hats. And also i realised that Jay likes to add so many unecessary fills. Every live show he plays different fills and he changes his snare sound so many times. Joey most of the times plays the same. I love Jays china tho... Would love to have it.

Also sobriety tends to mellow people out as well. Another good analogy between Slipknot and Metallica. On Slipknot and Iowa they all pretty fucked up on drugs and alcohol and then most got clean before Vol 3 (except Paul unfortunately). Metallica was known as Alcoholica back in the 80's and 90's but got clean after St Anger (the ultimate example of how drugs and alcohol dont always make shit better).

Their new stuff doesnt have the same rough sound. The sharp drums, the grungy more nu sound to it. It's good on its own but not anywhere near slipknots best work.

I agree with you Slipknot has changed for sure, compared to their older albums. I don't feel the same emotions that made Slipknot them. Tho reaching 10 million views in a day is good tho I've seen bigger numbers faster. Like I know this might piss off rock people, but the group BTS they had 100 million in 2 days and 50 mill in 1 day. So the numbers could be bigger. Also RIP to the daughter of Clown, may she rest in peace 22 is too young to die. 💜

Iowa is the best album, period, bottom line. I've been a Slipknot fan since the beginning and they just haven't been able to recreate the magic of the first 2 albums IMHO. Corey has way too much influence with the music. They need to change the name to Slipsour. And Clown is a wanna be Rob Zombie. The Heretic Anthem is one of the greatest metal songs ever, they haven't come close to anything like that since. I went to a concert just before Iowa dropped. They played The Heretic Anthem and nobody had ever heard it before. The fucking roof came off the building that night. It was THE most insane shit I've ever been apart of at a concert. I've seen them 4 more times since then and the newer shows are no where close to the early ones. It hasn't helped that they lost Paul, Joey and now Chirs. It really pissed me off what they done to Chris. They said he was just an employee, not a member, SMMFH, He gave them 20 years of his life. I think the $$$ got the better of them to tell the truth. That's why I loved Slipknot, no conformity..... so much for that..... So much for the "brotherhood"......

I've been playing drums since I was 11 years old. (1995) and I used to hate on slipknot because their rhythm section is deep. Like "yeah bro, 4 drummers, ever listened to mudvayne? " type attitude. When Iowa came out, my friend blasted it out of his truck with bad speakers. I got a ride home one day and heard... "if you're 555 im 666" I was kinda astoundedlike "who would say this?" "Bro it's slipknot. they have a sick DJ". favorite song is a toss up between vermilion 1 and "spit" Amazing musicians!

Corey isn't an angry young adult anymore. That's why ... it has nothing much to do with them being super famous . He's older now and along with the rest of the band, that's why he's not "super angsty" anymore. Their still being real as always . I rather them do what there doing then possibly be super fake to please some fans.

It's fucking slipknot. The 2 new song's are fire. Can't compare the old and new. They went commercial. That's how they won their 1st grammy ......... I've been listening to them since 1990. And their still out killing it

I agree with you, i was a bit underwhelmed with this song specifically. I enjoyed All Out Life but this song just missed the mark for me. The chorus is meh to me and it just kind of sounds generic.

Every new album they have new masks. Jim, Mick and Craigs masks are similar to previous ones but with either a few changes or subtle ones. Can you react to - Disasterpiece live in London 2002, or Spit it Out Live at Download 2009 please 🤘🤘🤘

If you are a metal drummer you should check out Son of Aurelius, Spencer Edwards is an insane drummer. Anything off The Farthest Reaches is top notch, but Facing the Gorgon is legit as all hell. Maybe A Champion Reborn, A Good Death, or Mercy for Today. Underappreciated band as all hell but Tech Death all the way.

I think the new singles are the deception of the year. (In my very very humble opinion) this one sound like a really bad demo version of Duality and the sound is like a bad versión of slpiknot music (ironic!).They are using same “formulas”, same riffs, a predictible melody... Nothing new. It Was #1 trending on RU-vid beacause it was realesed by SLIPKNOT, not because of the Quality of the song, what a shame. Since slipknot came out Corey has been talking shit about pop music...and they are doing right now the same thing just to keep selling the same product, just like the “shity pop music industry” is doing right now. Nu metal gold era has gonne, heavy metal gold era has gone ,it’s time to do somehing relevant or new. Rammstein is the best example , at least they are trying to make their music more interesting without losing their caracteristic sound. But whatever, it’s just my opinion.

I agree with you guys. The two songs Slipknot has recently put out, this and All Out Life just doesn't really compare to their older stuff. Now for me, The Gray Album did. It had more of an Iowa vibe going for it in my opinion. I did enjoy the video though and I do believe all their masks are different. I absolutely love Corey's when he has his mouth covered, though. It reminds me of Raziel from Legacy of Kain!

Only a few bands I personally still listen to that got better with time: Ion Dissonance, War From a Harlot's Mouth, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Remembering Never, Mastodon and Tool if the new album is good (lol, of course it's going to be good).

@wyatt stav Good reaction, but honestly your reacting to Slipknot and mentioning bullet Valentine, and green day?? And least name bands in there class... korn, lamb of god, mushroom head. And I honestly think jay Weinberg might be a better technical drummer but Joey is Slipknot. The band Won’t ever sound the same until Joey comes back..

So, I only started listening to Slipknot shortly before The Negative One music video came out and then worked my way backwards, so I don’t have the nostalgia factor or bias some older fans might have. That being said, this song isn’t all that special. This song is equivalent to the last album’s Devil in I, and the one before’s Psychosocial. It’s almost exclusively to get radio-play. They were at Jimmy Kimmel recently so I think that kind of thing is exactly what this song is meant for. All Out Life isn’t anything crazy innovative, but it is Slipknot. You can hear them in it. And I think that makes it a stronger track. Hopefully the only way is up after getting this single out of the way.
