Why this infamous (and memetic) song wasn't extended to an hour's length on RU-vid before me doing so is beyond my understanding. I guess someone got hit with a copyright strike or two. Eh, not much you can do about that...or is there? (Search "Where's The Fair Use?")

I really like the dichotomy between the opening and ending boss themes. Both are about killing, but 'Rules of Nature' is about the animalist need to kill to survive and the song celebrates it. 'It Has to Be This Way' is more about killing over ideals and the song's tone is a grim acceptance of that necessity. An animal kills for what it needs in the moment, a human kills for what it wants for the future. You start the game an animal, you end it human.

Well all of them are in a way, as each one is supposed to be a metaphor for war and rationale for fighting. MGR actually has as much symbolism as the mainline MGS series, its just hidden behind a more goofy and hyperactive gameplay style (also on purpose)

It's ironic because from everyone elses perspective "Jack the Ripper" seems far more unhinged and animalistic than Raiden. However, we know that this is Raiden being true to himself and what he believes, which is much more human than simply complying with the "Natural" order of things.

This song talks about being backed into a corner after taking heavy damage and pulling off a major turnaround come from behind victory! I have seen this song used for epic badass moments such Evo Moment #34, making even playing a game of table tennis seem awesome, or at fighting game tournament where someone is able to pull a badass despite the beating they were taking! This song is hype incarnate pushing the player to go on beyond their A game and show the enemy just how much fight you still have left!

In Vanquish, another game by Platinum Games, the first boss is a giant robot about just as big as Metal Gear RAY, and you're not even allowed to directly hit him, so you have to hide put and shoot his weak spots when he's distracted, and he'll destroy the cover you're behind too. Platinum Games should make a game like Dark Souls, because that shit is hardcore.

Konami is going to be at E3 this year. There's been rumors of them outsourcing their IPs to other studios. Metal Gear Rising was already a game outsourced to Platinum. I'd say there's a solid chance of that happening soon (pun fully intended). Or I'm just getting your hopes up and I'm an asshole.

I think the trend leans more to MG's having pilots than not. Rex, Ray in 2 and 4, as well as I believe the Shagohod in 3, Excelsus in this game, and I want to say the Spin-offs tend to depict Metal Gear units as needing pilots in those as well. This Ray is unique in that regard, but it is an outlier for the series as a whole in terms of MG depiction

Agito Zero Please. I can't even play the fiddle, and my days of manipulating people are long since past me. Besides, if I keep up this show of good publicity, less sword-wielding heroes and the like will be busting down my walls. Which I wish I could say are a pain to put back up, but when you have full control over time and space like I do, it's a simple matter of selectively reversing time around the object in question to repair the damage.
