I love how people used to say "It's not so hard". Oh yes it is. Even "average" C ranks began with the meat grinder, until the systems clicked. But this here, this is something else. That damned elevator alone could drive you mad trying a no-hit bonus.
Elevator I don't have so many problems I have white wig and Fix blade but that damm holl where you have to go 2 stages up I'm trayng for 3 months now I always do S S S S that part B,A it killed me and it's almost impossible to not take damage idk how he/She didn't I have S rank in all mods all misions ex this one
The hall part, and the actual boss of R-04 was pain to get S-Rank. For Sundowner, I figured out finally, that in order to S-Rank, I believe you need to Zandatsu at least 6 soldiers, which may take some time or even a restart. But if you don't get those Zandatsu (same with MG EXCELSIUS), even if you No-Hit you won't get that S-Rank.
one thing and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's OCD drives them nuts over this is: HOW IN THE HELL DOES THE MURASAMA FIT IN HIS SHEATH AND WHERE THE HELL DID THE HAND-GUARD GO?
For the Monsoon fight, I can't lock on to his head when I shatter his body, plus during his smoke screen sneak attack, he's much quicker when appearing from the front, but in your video, slowed down. Konami... Breaking their own game and calling it hard.
Yea I think some of these guys are using mods or altered footage. My bosses act differently and take damage differently too. My Monsoon just stops letting you block after I get him to about 50% health. I made it through Mistral, got him to 50% with full health and consumables, then it stops letting me block and I die in a few hits.
@@Damitsall Wdym you can't block? All of Monsoon's attacks are blockable except for the helicopters, but even then, those are hella easy to dogde or blade mode.
We're talking about an S rank, its supposed to be hard. I'm very happy with the difficulty. Its not a cakewalk like most other modern games and it feels rewarding to get the rank.
To add to my other comment, don't worry, you WILL be able to get the S ranks. Just don't get hit, land some combos and make some Zan datsu. just quickly restart from last checkpoint if you didn't get the rank, and keep a backup save for the boss fights.
I know, right!? I tried for a hour and a half the other day to just S-Rank the GRAD fight, and I still couldn't do it. I can go without damage until the GRAD, but then it comes out and launches like 16 little missiles and the big red ones, and I can't really dodge them or cut them. I even tried to use a jamming grenade hoping to de-aggro it, but it made no difference at all. When I step up to the turret to go for a quick kill, it blows up the turrets way too fast. I just can't win, I guess.
I agree dude and it makes me mad because that battle with Mistral and Monsoon AI pisses me off since you really need to make a no damage battle only for that goddamn S rank and also dealing with that god-awful camera. Did those developers even tried to do that OA rank battle themselves? Or are they just love to humiliate us gamers to make themselves look cool and show off how awesome they are?
Actually for that specific battle, you don't need the no-damage bonus, since the Mistral AI just spams dwarf geckos at you, you can easily achieve all point thresholds.
9 years man how old is this game but still a nice one and an unic one you sad wig I use wig and Fox blade and I still can't make this damm mision S rank the holl fuck me up
Taken from Urban Dictionary: "casual gamers make up the silent majority of computer and console game players that: 1, use pc and console games as a means of socializing or to connect with friends rather than as an achievement or to further their reputation as a skillful game player. 2, are by definition inferior in skill to any hardcore gamer."
I did almost everythink in this game, trophy and titles. and I agree with you except of some vr mission, like 17 and some fights with sam dlc, (Armstrong no damage was somethink foolish). In thats case I really thought that the producers was cheating the gamers.
Its different, its a videogame. Getting the highest rank possible is supposed to be hard. Had it been getting through the game on any difficuly, I would have agreed.
Well, hardcore gamers do tend to look down on casual gamers, but its often because of their taste in games. Casual gamers are the ones who really decide wich turn the videogame industry is taking (releasing Call of Duty clones every year), so its more or less understandable. Hmm, not sure if I understood your last statement. Anyway, we're jumping way off subject. It was nice debating how difficult a game should be regarding highest possible score.
"Hard?" That's a small word for a tall order they put on a player's plate don't you think? For a game that utterly Enforces a sense of Perfectionism...? I mean you must've played the VR and Revengeance modes right? You don't think some of the standards and challenges they drop on your lap aren't just a tad much at times, FOR you or others maybe? Especially those who aren't border-line perfectionists at games?
If I remember correctly, you don't need to obtain an S-rank on revengeance with Sam to get the trophies for that DLC, I think you only need to defeat him without taking dmg on Hard or above. But I'm not sure.
Sounds like whoever wrote that up thinks rather highly of themselves if ya ask me, especially if using terms like "skillful" or "hardcore." As if looking down on the casual gamer body. But whatever. If the world is full of casual gamers, that simply means they wanna play a game and have fun, without the tedious demand of it's standards and expectations. And in that respect if that makes me a casual then I guess I am, but then that would also say why PG's sales are a "C or D" too... funny thing
man, I did everything right, but at the Sundowner, I completed WITHOUT DAMAGE, and even won rank B, thanks for the help, but it is the third time I complete the entire chapter because the final rank, I give up, if you can help me , already lost 12 hours, with these attempts do not know what to do.
I'm on a no damage run currently and I dropped Sundowner in a matter of minutes, but got A-Rank. Granted, I missed the lobby battle - thanks to this video, I know now - but I never got hit! This game broken, or something?
@@CLOWNBOT00 man, I'm happy there's still people playing this game, certain bosses have extra conditions to get a S rank, if I remember correctly, you need a 50 hit combo, and/or kill the choppers and the 2 soldiers that he call
@@koringavp3669 But as you saw, that wasn't done in the video with the guard being taken out, and I took out his explosive armor and (I think) two copters, 0 damage, kept slicing - because you can perfect parry him. Something's up!
I was just doing this boss fight a few days ago, I did the No Damage Bonus and I got an A rank as well, I thought I'd just restart at the last checkpoint only to find out that it was the checkpoint at the Slider ride, and that I hadn't made an additional save before the boss fight, which lead me to loading a save that is right before the elevator before the Mistral and Monsoon fight, which I had S ranked before fighting Sundowner... I have not words on how enraging it's been trying to get that fucking fight done with an S Rank again... I am in so much pain right now... >:(
@@progennagd1675 After I made that comment I realized my current problem; I died several times while doing the Monsoon and Mistral fight, which deducts my overall score if I continue, thus the reason I was receiving a low score despite not taking any damage. I've got a backup save file before that fight so I just need to do the 5 stage elevator for a 3rd time and then get through the rest with all S ranks. I'm almost done with the base trophies, Stormbringer is the one I'm getting out of the way so that the last few are smooth sailing from there on.
February it came out, it's now mid August and I still am struggling. I doubt "practice" is gonna do much for me at this point... And casual gamers?? What are those exactly?
Ho do you get that no kill bonus you have to not die or do you have to not kill anyone I never get it and that holl that damm holl I start having nightmares with it so many weeks I acived S rank in all misions ex this one
@@SABSCORPION you have to chop off the legs without killing them and they'll despawn. some enemies also despawn when you cut off their arms like the heavily armed cyborgs. if you do that to every enemy then you'll get a no kill bonus. on the part where you have to run right before the japanese garden, you can just chop one of the enemies' legs off and dont hit anyone else and you'll get a no kill bonus. also, if they're not despawning then try walk away and face your camera away from them.
On revegeance difficulty, the perfect parry counter damage is boosted, you can go even further if you do the counter while on ripper mode and equipped with a upgraded murasama.
I get the idea they aimed for: to make it hard and challenging for western game players, which challenging is one thing. But when you got maybe half a million threads plastered on game sites with complainst and cries for advice or help, lol it should raise a flag or two saying, "Maybe we could take it down a couple notches." XD As for the AI fights, those aren't really terribly hard.. just beat them as FAST as possible, and get a high combo on mistral's gekko's. The two fights counted together.
Fucking Amazing gameplay! Your playthrough is AWESOME! No! Fucking AWESOME! What's the difficulty settings? Normal or Hard? Because if you're playing on hard then you absolutely rock!
Besides, No Damage, what are the other criteria for S ranks? Is time an issue as well? The reason I ask is because I keep getting an A rank on the Sundownder battle even when sustaining no damage. Is there something I'm overlooking?
At the end of the battle, the game gives a summary of your feats, those being time, BP (battle points), zandatsu, combo and kills, depending of how well you go on those parameters, you will get points, so the better you perform, the more points you will get, there are also bonuses, like no-damage, no-detection and no-kills. For Sundowner, you need 10.000 points to achieve a S rank, so, even if you manage to do a no-damage fight, if you are lacking on the other departments, you will not get enough points.
This is not to brag at all, but I got S rank on revengeance withing 2 weeks when I started with the difficulty. If you aren't up to the challange, simply don't try to get the highest score possible yet, practice some more first. Getting the highest score is not intended for casual gamers. By your name (11986) I sort of assumed you were born in 1986, so I thought you of all would understand a challange in games, compared to modern cakewalks. But it might just have been a random number.
That rank 4 battle was such a fucking oversight.. do the developers ever think on the standard gamer level? Cus I don't think they do when they set these hurdles as high as they do... lol Sliders can fuck you up... but you can't fuck the sliders up.. Sounds like a cheap trick to further complicate getting the S rank for such a lucrative rank battle...
