I come here for one reason and one reason only. To wish Metal Gear Rising it's 10 Year Anniversary. I really do love this game a lot, and I'm surprised that it's already been 10 years. Jetstream Sam is probably hands down my favourite character in MGR and all the memes that were made of him were truly beautiful. Cheers you incredible people for bringing the game back to life in 2022.

This is more then just an amazing song. It serves as crucial characterisation of Sam's character. Throughout the game Sam presents himself as a cheeky and laid-back antagonist. Lyrics of this song conveys what actually is happening in his head. That he is on verge of losing sanity and already lost his sense of self by being basically forced to commit villainy. His cheeky persona is just a coping mechanisms. Obviously, he cannot afford to convey this directly with words, that deep inside he is battling even greater demons most of us cannot even imagine, because that would be out of character for him honestly, nobody would teke him seriously. That's where lyrics come in. During first encounter this song is purely instrumental, during final encounter we get the full scope. This is the reason why he was willing to relinquish his sword to Raiden should he defeat him. A final attempt at redemption. Truly a masterpiece.

I love this track but the thing that elevates this for me is that it’s a metal song mixed with traditional Japanese sounding whistles being used as the theme for a Brazilian

The fact that he was on par with augmented Raiden, despite having less Cybernetics than Gray Fox, speaks volumes to just how incredibly skilled Sam really was.

This song is so powerful that if you go to buy milk while listening to it, you WILL return.

The only boss battle you can instantly play without having to replay the entire chapter mainly because this battle is a chapter on it's own.

Still one of the funniest/fun games of all time. I remember playing this when it came out and I was young asf vibing to this theme while fighting Sam and I didn’t even want to beat him cause of how hard this theme goes.

How it feels to 1v1 the freind who taught you everything in a game:

One of the reasons i love this fight is because Sam is the only boss that plays fair, no minions, no shields, no giant robots, he just fights you with a sword and his pure skill, that is why when i fought him i removed the secondary weapons so it could be a fair 1v1

I remember listening to this back in April 2013 in class when I should’ve been working.I never knew it would become a meme 9 years later.

So let me get this straight: We started in 1964 during the Cold War playing as an eye patch man, and now it's 2018 and we're playing as a high-heel wearing blond robot man that uses his sword to harvest the Gatorade from other robot people.

Notice that once you disarm Sam, the music loses it's vocals and becomes instrumental. Without his Father's sword he isn't Jetstream Sam or Minuano anymore, he's just Samuel Rodrigues relying on his arts and cyborg arm. A human without a cause, without a goal but when Sam reclaims his Katana as the vocals kick back in, he gives in to the hopelessness and embraces what he's become now. Legendary game and we don't make em like we used to.

Bosses in other games: Oomps, you seem to hamve disamrmed me, I neemd to quimckly pick up my weampon so as not to die Bosses in the MGR (not jetstream): Wow, you disarmed, it's time to go to the second phase/new combat style (well, like Mistral, Sandowner or Monsoon lol) Jetstream Sam: You disarmed me, prepare your ass for a new parry lesson.

Something weird happened to me, for whatever reason on Sams fight I couldn't beat him, but once i turned off the music i won first try, weird....

this makes eating ice cream more challenging then it actually is

Jetstream Sam was the only Winds of Destruction member I really didn't want to kill, on the bright side, he lives on as Raiden's sword now. We still out here waiting for a sequel

I just noticed that the lyrics of the boss themes of armstrong (in his metal gear), mistral, monsoon, blade wolf and samuel are representing their thoughts and background stories, and in the very last boss battle it's raiden's own thoughts. mind fucking blown

I like how this one feels less techno and more traditional than the other Boss themes with lyrics, since sam had less technological upgrades than the rest
