Looks good. My favorite series. But seems just like a graphical redo of the same game. Which I’m fine with but I thought it was getting more of a remake treatment

Thank God it’s not that Kiefer Sutherland bullshit. Konami did David dirty with MGSV, which was the worst game in the series. This shot for shot game is what a remake should be, but with improvements.

this whole playtest Era we are living in is actually killing my drive to ever play these games. streamers get that early access playtest energy and then boast and gloat about playing before anyone else most of the time while simultaneously ruining and spoiling all the content before its even launched and about 2 weeks later they all move on to a new playtest game that no one except for streamers get to play. been going outside to practice my jump shot more than I even video game anymore..

Of course. You can even see it in the trailer. Snake is fighting Ocelot Units with the Mosin Nagant sniper in the Jungle area instead of The End.

They'll probably do what Capcom is doing and remake the series from scratch essentially. MGS3 is the game that takes place at the beginning of the timeline, if this does well, expect Peace Walker

I've tried playing MGS3 multiple times and not a single time did I manage to get past a few hours. I love MGS1 and MGS2, but the 3rd game just doesn't do anything for me. Though honestly, the I think the only good MGS games are 1 and 2. The 4th one is great... for 2 acts and after that is just meh in terms of gameplay. I love the speed of MGS1 & 2 but that's just not possible in MGS3 where they tried to go for a more realistic angle (and not just in regards to sneaking, also in terms of subsystems like having to take care of certain body parts, survival mechanics, etc... I prefer the simplicity of the first 2 games).

@@jdi4003 I'm not too fond of it actually. The gameplay itself is good, but there's too much crap around it. The base management, long helicopter rides and many other small things just kinda sucked the fun for me out of it. I dropped the game after I spent 1 hour killing everyone in a base and died during my victory looting lap because the platforming in the game is atrocious and Snake fell to his doom from a height that wouldn't kill anyone... then I was set back to the start of the base with all enemies alive again. I also don't like how it seems to mess with the lore tech-wise. They're using tech that's way more advanced than what they had in MGS4 despite taking place way before even MGS1... or heck even before MG1.

@@thenonexistinghero all very good points, I'll add that Big Boss barely spoke in the game, almost felt like a silent protagonist. I think the game is ok but all you said is why I don't think it's all that great.

@@jdi4003 I don't mind silent protagonists actually. Although honestly I do just prefer Solid Snake. I don't care for all of these other Snakes. Yes in MGS2 you mostly played with Raiden, but you also played a bit with Solid Snake and he was still very essential to the game. I think Snake's tanker part in MGS2 is pretty much MGS at its very best, short as it may be.
