With it playing like MGSV, the essence of SnakeEater’s original gameplay philosophy will be completely gone. It’ll look like MGS3, but it def won’t play or feel like it. You’ll see once it’s in hand. As much as I want this to work, it really is just another Konami cash grab that they simply try the least not to screw up

@@miki49 except it's not playing exactly like MGSV, they've already said there will be an option to play with the OG control scheme. The original philosophy won't be gone anymore than it was when they introduced First person shooting and hanging in Twin Snakes

@@KahosSaint Original control scheme doesn’t mean anything really, not what I was referring to at all. This game will still have things unseen in the original regardless of control scheme. To name a couple examples, you will still be able to move while shooting and crouch-walk, two abilities never exhibited in the original that will, whether you like it or not, inherently change the gameplay philosophy of the original. Secondly, Twin Snakes is most definitely the worst example you could have brought here. There’s a reason it’s widely hated, and I’m not even referring to the terrible cutscenes. Many of the abilities, including the ledge hanging you just mentioned, completely trivialized how you interacted with the world of shadow moses. It objectively changed it, and not for the better. Look. I want this remake to work out. But if you one of those who are blinded by nostalgia and can’t open your mind to meaningful discussion, I simply can’t engage further.

I have dreamed of this since the release of MGS V. Crazy to see it becoming true.

That might be enough for some people, but that logic inherently removes much (if not all) of the essence of the original’s gameplay philosophy

@@chasegordineer8860 The original played more like a puzzle game. Execution was important, but it was more about figuring out the best or quickest way of efficiently getting through an area. MGSV was more about doing anything however and from wherever. It was more about doing things your own creative way where subsistence was more about doing as much as you could with as little as you had. If given too much accessibility, I’m afraid it turns into more of a stealth playground than a stealth puzzle, if that makes sense

@miki49 well just like 5. You'll be able to turn it off, I get where you're coming from, but for some people this will be thier first experience with a MGS title. People that have been playing for like a long time will more than likely ave the option to play it more like the original

I personally hated the re4 remake re2 was great tho

RE4 remake is definitely my favorite remake. So many improvements from the smarter AI, parrying, more fleshed out characters, more serious tone to the story, weapon balancing, better boss fights, amazing backtracking, upgraded treasure system, mini boss fights, quest, better mercenaries and of course the Ada DLC that is basically its own game and now a must play to complete the story. They knocked that game out the park !

Re2 sucked as a remake. Shit was bare bones and got rid of the zapping system, playing scenario b don't even make sense. The GameCube remake of the original resi is the real goat

RE4 remake is my favorite remake but it's not 1:1. They changed a lotta things, some for the better and some for the worse. But i think MGS Delta will easily top RE4 remake since it's the exact same game with no cuts or changes but with better gameplay & graphics!

@@fire-typhoon123 better gameplay ? Hell no ! It didn’t have better gameplay when they originally came out. It definitely won’t now with how they improved the movement, boss fights, added the parrying and all the fun gunplay you could have.

I just beat MGSV 3 days ago. It took 3 hours for the realization that it was over to sink in.

re3 was trash re 2 was not a remake at all re4 was very good but still did not feel like ps2 but i must say treu see more 1st

The expectations for remakes have changed, especially for games being remade after a span of 20 years. What made the OG Snakeeater great, gameplay-wise, will be completely absent here. It’ll play like MGSV with the MGS3 skin and story. That might be enough for some people, but old fans will feel something’s missing while newcomers will think they figured out what the original was all about. Sure newcomers will get to experience the story, but the OG’s presentation is still excellent, and making this remake play like MGSV will make it wayyy too easy. I just don’t know who the main target audience is, I don’t think they even thought about it. Konami just knew the original was beloved and are trying to make something they think will bring in the money without much overhead
