Really sad when ya think about it. All the BS Huey, Skull Face, and others caused really changed them and others for the worse. Certainly with Big Boss. Him using Venom Snake like that (and what he'd go on to do in the MSX games) made him no better than how the U.S. government used The Boss back in MGS3. 😥
Hearing this really made MSF sound like a heaven for soldiers... they played, they celebrated, had a great leader to follow, a sauna...happy silly Miller....good times. I played Peacewalker when it first came out... build MSF ...I cried when it was destroyed...

Two conflicting personalities, he's Big Boss and has his memories without the trauma of being Big Boss, and the medic personality is still left over a little, so it's a weird blend, as Ocelot said in Venom's self diagnosis of himself when he thought he saw paz
*(Info dump incoming)* Even this is not true, Venom in MGSV is as chatty as BB in the cassettes. The whole Venom is the Medic/body double/the player twist is a truth BB interpreted by fully embracing his Venom persona. I mean even the "Truth" ending has a time paradox embedded into it, and that's the result of BB's inability to interpret what really happened at the hospital correctly. Wrong interpretation of events is a direct symptom of Disassociative Identity Disorder, and funnily enough, what is the very first song you hear in the game? From The Man Who Sold The World. A song about David Bowie's split personality acting as a doppelganger within his own head. "There are no facts, only interpretations." This is one of the first quotes you see in the game. Venom created a whole scenario within his mind involving Paz, Kaz, Ocelot and a room that doesn't even exist on the medical platform. After Venom comes to terms with the "Truth" he further hallucinates the "Truth" Paz tape. Let me leave you with a few questions. Keeping in mind that Venom has been shown to hallucinate entire seperate realities and cassette tapes that supposedly reveal the truth about the events venom interpreted wrongly, would you trust the "Truth Tapes" given to us at the end of the game? Why would you trust Ocelot? The biggest double, triple, quadruple crosser of all time? Just because he's 'on our side'? Why would you trust Kaz? A man who was in cahoots with Cipher behind BB's back during PW and arguably even still in TPP? "All eyes on Kazuhira." Why would you trust Quiet? The woman who was sent to kill Venom in the hospital, who afterwards still works with Cipher in order to hold the English strain as a weapon against Venom? Why would you trust Code Talker? He engineered the vocal chord parasite strains! What's funny is the only person who shows genuine loyalty to Snake is Huey. What does he get for voicing his disgust in mission 43, or organizing the nuclear inspection on MSF, or choosing to defect from Skullface as soon as he learns about Snakes return? He is silenced, framed and exiled from Diamond Dogs. Even what he supposedly did to Strangelove isn't necessarily confirmed by Huey, he just seems super guilty by his awkward mannerisms.
Paz is the best example of living a lie so deeply that it becomes the subjective truth, and on both sides of the coin; she was conditioned by Cipher to live the lie of being allied to Snake and MSF, entering with belief that the world is cruel and painful, and that her ruse was for her survival's sake as victim of Cipher's abusive training. But MSF showed her that even (if not, especially) battle-hardened career soldiers are capable of compassion, joy, understanding, forgiveness, and innocent fun. Her greatest lie was to herself; that her emotions were only a weakness, other people are just means to an end, and peace is a pipedream. She only realized the truth once Skullface showed her the evils of war and human cruelty that she once submitted to before. Cipher put her through Hell, MSF showed her a form of heaven, and Skullface showed her that Hell has no upper limit to the heat of it's crucible. Also, STRANGELOVE, WTF, DID YOU FEEL UP WHAT YOU WERE LED TO BELIEVE WAS A TEENAGER?! Girl, that's gross.
She is generally quite desperate. A big motive for her participating in the Peacewalker project was a chance to re-create the OG Boss, who she had a huge crush on. The whole ordeal probably twisted her psyche.
Makes me cry knowing that Paz started out as a spy who hated all the people in MSF but over time she feels more comfortable, until she meets a horrible fate.
Ground Zeroes may be just under an hour and a half as far as the main game goes but hell does the story, lore and atmosphere of it go deep as fuck. Its a 360° turn from Peace Walker and is bounds deeper than what TPP brings to the table. This is a short, focused and brilliant masterpiece.
I never really liked Chico. I cared more about Paz than Chico when both died at the end of GZ and he pretty much caused all this. Like did he honestly think he would do anything to help her? He should have told Snake.
The tape in which Huey changed msf’s decision to the inspection is a good reason to believe he was a traitor When Huey changed snake’s decision,he as a subordinate had no right to do so.because in a military command when the chain of command decides on something and gives out an order (in this case msf command snake and Kaz)its to be obeyed and not questioned.what Huey did is called insubordination which is an offense that can lead to disciplinary punishment. because he did not obey the command’s order and changed it when he had no permission to do this makes him now viable for punishment.now this insubordination resulted in msf’s destruction and in phantom pain we knew that Huey had a hand in it(we came to the realization that skull face always plays with people in order to achieve his ambition ,so he fooled Huey ) and was the only one who survived except for snake and the medic and kaz and their helicopter pilot. Now this Is treason and of the highest magnitude which is a court martial Offense that leads to execution. this is not considering what he did with Diamond dog’s soldiers and his experimentation on them with a throat virus(I forgot what it was called😅) Now we can believe and rightfully so that Huey was a traitor
And then afterwards what he was going to do to his son and what he did to his stepdaughter. not to mention strangelove. sorry i know my reply had nothing to do with his betrayal but that man was a complete bastard and a coward on top of that. Fuck Huey.
The ONLY reason Huey was not executed on the spot was so it wouldn't contradict with his backstory Hal discussed in MGS2 (and MGS4 later elaborated upon). The traitor dying a pathetic death/suicide in the family swimming pool in which he tried to take Emma with with when he found out his (new) wife was cheating on him with his own son....
I never really liked Huey. Even after the shit he pulled making me kill my own men, I still wanted to just off him. Hal- I never knew why he would fall for some sort of incest seduction by his step mom. But I’m sure Huey is trying to get Hal to kill Snake while Venom is just waiting to off Huey again…

Clothed Snake yeah, seems like that was an excuse for hideo to hear some hot woman on woman action to fap to like quiet's inconsistent outfit, brilliant mind, but a very dirty one at that.
Okay, so I came to the Metal Gear series because of Rising: Revengance. I thought, “Haha, funny Terminator with a sword, and Amoogus meme man, Brazilians, and uh, Nanomachines son!” And then I thought, “Wouldn’t it be funny if I played these games backwards? R:R takes place, like, at the end of the timeline, so I can’t get spoiled on anything now! Wouldn’t that be funny! If I did that?” So I got Ground Zero and Phantom Pain, since they came on the same disc. So I went straight from “The DNA of the soul” to this. So I cannot stress enough, and pardon my Français, *Jesus Fucking Christ.*
Yeah Revengance is the absolute outlier of Metal Gear. The others are crazy in a more “subtle” way for lack of a better word. MGSV is arguably one of the more tame entries when it comes to madness. MGS2 is probably the king of mindfucking.
Makes me wonder.....if miller had a connection to skullface, would be interesting to see if any of the cut content of TPP would have revealed a connection or not. Like how he revealed in peace walker that he was well aware of Paz's true nature, zadornov, and Cipher
@@natedog101591 he worked as a spy on Peace Walker. Giving information about Big Boss movements, etc. But he didn't suspect or know about the attack on Mother Base (the attack on Ground Zeroes) . The idea was to stop big Boss and take Metal Gear Zeke. Even he in the final tapes, talks with Cipher and basically hates him. All the destruction and the events on TPP was made by Skullface, not necessarily cipher neither CIA. I don't remember the exact same words, but during the interrogation to Huey, Ocelot talks abouts spy and how even someone in some moment worked for the enemy (with a glance to Kaz and Big Boss) . Now they are comrades and dealing each other. Looking and judging who is the spy it's pointless. Skullface was a Phantom, nobody cared heard or knew about him, he just do the dirty work. So it's very unlikely that Kaz, Ocelot in a some way worked with Skullface
I think huey was the spy ever since peace walker. Kaz did make contact with cipher, Kaz did give them info. But he would never betray the boss like that. like he said "he was using them" Huey on the other hand. Was never really set alliances. Sure he build weapons only for the reason "the boss was truthful" but that's it. His real motives were never clear.
lol, this for me might be my all time favorite part of the days worth of tapes/codec. I'm surprised this isn't more of a meme. Miller was going to shove stuff in his butt right in front of Paz. This is one of the few times a, "Why isn't anybody talking about..." comment is justified.
Metal Gear solid V is awesome when Kiefer Sutherland is Big Boss and Phantom Boss. Amazing Story sadly, people didn’t like it for whatever their excuse about what is real and not! 🥴
Judging by the tapes at both GZ and TPP, surely he delivered as Big Boss/Venom. On the personal side, sure it was strange at first about Hayter not being BB in this game. But for character development, like a grizzled, mature, almost 50 years old Big Boss, Kiefer put out some excellent work and dialog lines. This was needed for some character development progression.
Personally I would have preferred more cutscenes and the codec conversations instead of all of these audio tapes. These are well acted and decently written but it also feels like work to listen to them all
Good thing GZ is a prequel to TPP, it complements it instead of competing. Although separate merchandise, they are essentially two parts of the same game.
I still cant believe huey would turn like the way he did. It almost feels as if kojima did it on purpose,i felt like huey would be in tuned and connected in msf anough to where he wouldnt turn on his own like the way he did.
huh....thinking about it, its....kinda thanks to huey being a the massive twat he was that big boss actually survived no huey, no motherbase going down acting as a smoke screen for big boss no MGSV which means eventually the real big boss would die, by snakes hand or when skull face came for him another way or when he was at base
