The ending of mgs5 is one of the saddest in the franchise, those who played or know the lore understand that it ends right before the final boss fight of MG1, and then venom gets killed by solid, that's just sad
I never got why Kojima did that honestly. Personally, Venom is my favorite character in the franchise, and on top of that he is supposed to represent YOU, the player. You customize his look and give him a name. This is your character, your entry into the series, and you get killed off later on. That just seems like a dick move (I love kojima and the metal gear series is my favorite game franchise but what the heck). Such a waste of a great character I personally would like to think either venom survived the events of N313 or it was actually naked snake facing Solid twice and venom never encounters solid, instead he retires or continues his own mercanry group or something off screen, that seems like a better send off to YOUR character instead of being killed. Thats just my opinion tho
@@aRennix while i do understand where you're coming from, you have to remember that venom surviving n1313 directly conflicts with the lore. how would people not know about venom's new mercenary group?. plus it would also conflict with the game's message: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hV4wY2rjAWY.html
I consider this Venom snakes theme. This song plays at the most crucial moments. For example, when Venom is talking to Kaz about having to one day kill quiet and how he will be the one to pull the trigger; or during the "true ending" scene-I hate how people downplay Venom snake's influence. First, we heard in the truth tapes Big Boss illustrating how Venom was always the best soldier they had, so he isn't some "shitty random medic." Furthermore, he is more than just a medic. For crying out loud, the guy is an M.D. The difference between an M.D. and a medic is HUGE. To be a full-fledged medical doctor, you have to go through much more education than a medic would. On top of that, he was also the best soldier they had in their unit. "I'm assuming not counting Big Boss..." (Better say that now to prevent the fanboys from going nuts about how great BB is). Ultimately, the story is very well written; it displays Big Boss becoming a villain. I find it stupid when people shit-talk Venom Snake when he is supposed to represent *_"YOU,"_* the player. This is *_"YOUR"_* created character that you customize and name. In my opinion, when you trash Venom, you are trashing yourself. The irony of this is the fanboys don't even get it. Big Boss Betrays *_YOU!_* He takes away *_your_* identity, *_your_* face, even your name. Then Forces you to become the focus of *_his_* enemies and to fight *_HIS_* battles, only to make a name for *_him_* and leave his mark on the world. The final ending shows that Big Boss, unlike Venom, has no loyalty to his most _loyal_ men. People also seem to have a problem with Venom because he doesn't talk nearly as much as Big Boss. Though, I'd argue that is a good thing because if you ever notice, the only times Venom *_DOES_* speak is when he has something meaningful to say. As my father once taught me, "Sometimes the most intelligent thing you can say is nothing at all."
Very well analyzed and I agree on everything but the talking part. The fact is Venom does talk a fair bit, it is just all in the tapes. What could have been cutscenes at mother base or over the walkie are relegated to tapes, that FYI play louder than any other audio in the game when you turn them on. OTherwise I loved your explanation
For real , actually Big Boss and venom relation was like The boss and big boss when you think about it.big boss takes the boss legacy, thrn leave it to venom but in another way. Venom didn't fight back against big boss. He actually choose to fight for him.
Kagano “This legacy, we share together. I am you, and you are me. I cheated death thanks to you. Kept you waiting huh? You’re pretty good. Recoiiiiillll...Is there a way to take off my pants?”
1:41 For all the game's problems, the actual ending is one of the greatest/most tragic moments in the whole series, and the music is a really big part of it.
Both tragic and cathartic. It makes you feel the same way as when Darth Vader becomes a cyborg. Everything come full circle and yet something feels broken, snapped, lost to the past. Venom Snake finally became the monster he was meant to be. It's bone chilling.
Truly a grim feeling. The circle is complete. You can't change the future or even hold out hope for a good ending cause it's already set/you know what happens. It's tragic
It's sad but it was necessary to keep big boss alive long enough to end the nightmare . And let's not forget the work of Eva , Ocelot , solid snake and Raiden and many other who contribute.
There is no confirmation that Venom was meant to die fighting Snake. Considering that Solid Snake was the newest and greenest member of Foxhound and how as Snake gets deeper into Outer Heaven, Big Boss starts giving Snake faulty and malicious info and tries to cancel the mission right before he reaches Metal Gear, it seems more likely that Venom and Big Boss were definitely trying to defeat Solid Snake, but he surprised everyone with his success.
@@Zanoladab I doubt Konami would sell them, even if they're focusing less on video games these games owning the IP is a huge asset for them. Virtuos just hinted they could be making a remake of MGS3 after Komani gave them the license and even if it's a half baked trash fire it'll make Konami tens or hundreds of millions. Sadly I dont think that we'll ever see the a complete MGSV as Kojima envisioned it.
Hearing the guns in the background right at the end gives me a bit of sadness, as we know from the lore that is the moment Venom basically goes to confront Solid Snake in Metal Gear and dies from the encounter. I know the whole ordeal with Venom Snake was polarized at best, I liked him and it made me sad to see him go out like that, but I actually kinda liked the twist and that ending (though it could've been executed better).
nevarrite Wait, really? So, before he fought Snake, he reflected on his life and went to kill Snake? What, was the tape he put in the recorder that said “Operation” something is the name of the operation in Metal Gear 1? I’m so confused...
I have a theory that there was gonna be an un win able boss fight with solid snake. my evidence to support this is a cut line of dialogue where venom says "NOT YET, IT'S NOT OVER YET!" this is a line said by almost every metal gear final boss (big boss in mg2/liquid in mgs1/paz in mgs peace walker. just to name a few) which is why i think that venom would say that line during or near the end of that fight.
I don't care what anyone says, MGSV's story is just as good as MGS1,2, and 3. The game is finished, yet people strive for more, expecting to have a peaceful ending even though Paz literally tells you "Peace day never came.".
@@LiterallyRyan_Gosling "you'd still want more " doesn't apply to me because i don't play this game . Believe whatever you want but it's objectively unfinished because Eli stealing the Sahelanthropus was kept in base game and it never led to anywhere when kingdom of the flies was supposed to be the conclusion of that plot point. It's even mentioned as the "incomplete phantom episode" in the collector's edition of the game
Great news, everyone! The clean and remastered version has surfaced on the Extended Soundtrack for MGS V on iTunes. It is called "Behind the Mirror", it's track number 7.
"You hope hatred will someday replace the pain, but it never goes away... It makes a man hideous, inside and out!" "You've made your own history. I'm Big Boss and you are too, take it wherever you go." Whenever I remember this game I get emotional. Mgs is gone, but the sensation lingers..
Holy crapcakes, this is the cleanest version of the song I've heard. I've been looking for a clean version of this forever! This is literally the best we're gonna get until the soundtrack gets extracted or released on another OST. It was literally perfect until the mirror smashing sequence... The sound kinda muffles around there, but it sounds so good to hear the whole soundtrack. Thanks a ton!! Now we just need that Mission 51 OST, and the old Mother Base arrival one from the gamescom trailer and I'll be good.
+spideyfan300 If that's the case - check out the newly released Extended OST. It has everything you mentioned - the mirror scene clean music, Kingdom of the Flies tracks, arriving with Quiet and much more
I found this scene incredibly badass. Maybe because I had the ending spoiled for me, but I never really thought it felt sad at all. Even Venom looks pleased with the situation, as he smiles in the mirror.
The shocking finale moment of Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain when you have realized that this whole time in the game you never were playing the real big boss. You were playing as that medic from ground Zero after the cliffhanger and that Metal Gear Solid 5 leads us to the very first 1987 game called Metal Gear game. I was mind blown away. Though I need to play the game. I had to spoiler myself for I wanted to see what the huge hate was for this final Hideo Kojima project made just before he left Konami.
Awesome stuff. Can you post the track that plays when you recruit Quiet and bring her to motherbase for the first time? It's the gentle guitar that plays when after Snake says "put her in a cell" and before Snake says "I'll pull the trigger". It plays as she walks away with soldiers folliwing her and it is basically a calm acoustic guitar version of this
+ShyanTheLegend on the new Extended OST it's called "Venom", on RU-vid you can find a rip called - you guessed it - "I'll pull the trigger". They differ - the OST version is clear, remastered and so on, but lacks the guitar-only character of the rip, the ending sounds similar to "Return". If you want exactly what you've heard in the game or trailer, go look for the rip on YT.
That's solid snake infiltrating outer heaven....right after this ending solid snake fights venom snake and kills him and destroys the entire base. To be precise, that's the boss fight moment from the very first metal gear game.
Imagine. Legit think about it. You think your whole life your someone else. To find out your not. But, its someone with reputation. First your adrenaline is pumping. You're angry, furious. Punch a mirror, realise you are someone with potential to take over the world the whole time. All those emotions running through your head.
+cheez124 I managed to rip it, but unfortunately it cannot be cleaned of background sounds and horse neighing - the ripped .ogg from the cutscene contains several (8, if I remember correctly) channels for dividing speech, background effects and music itself, but some silly dingus decided to "contaminate" the two channels supposing to contain only the music with some background shit. BUT! You can find the super-clean track on the Extended OST now, since it's been released. It's called "The Other Shadow", track number 6. PS. Even in my rip here you can here some muffled voice of Big Boss in the first minute.
+spiderboymatt Either look for the track "Venom" from the new Extended OST on iTunes (not on YT yet, no one seems to have uploaded it yet), or you can look for "I'll pull the trigger" on YT. They are different - the OST version is cleaned and remastered, but the last part is shaped to sound more like "Return", while the ripped version on RU-vid has the subtle-but-awesome guitar riff only ending to the track.
the amount of emotions this ending makes you feel is insane, you genuinely just dont know how to feel about this should you be angry that big boss used you? should you feel like a badass because youre big boss?????? so many questions
Exactly. Same thing happens when we see Big Boss on his bike smoking his cigar and then staring directly at us: one one hand we should love him because we finally get to see the real deal and he’s never looked more badass (or more like Kurt Russel), on the other hand he has used us and become everything he hated.
Naked Snake a.k.a. Big Boss: Now do you remember? Who you are? What you were meant to do? I've cheated death, thanks to you. And thanks to you, I left my mark. You have to. You written your own history. You're your own man. I'm Big Boss. And you are too. Now, he's the two of us together. Where we are today, we built it. This story, this legend, it's ours. We can change the world, and with it, the future. I'm you, and you are me. Carry that with you, wherever you go. Thank you, my friend. From here and on out... you're Big Boss.
V is sweet! Could’ve been handled better with the ending being a playable credit scene on mother base, fighting against solid snake and either losing and ending the game, or having some secret Kojima ocelot ending about how they recovered the body to use in another clone program. Could’ve tied off the original story and still left it open for another continuation sometime before mgs4 or and it really wouldn’t matter with this one but make a prequel for mgs3 and have that lead up to zero and Skullface meeting
(Punches through mirror) “AHHHHHH, FUCK, MY HAND! AH, JESUS CHRIST, THERE’S GLASS LODGED IN MY FINGERS!!!!” (Slips) “AHH FU-“ (Wakes up) “We also found remains of glass and shards of linoleum flooring. The most dangerous of these pieces are located near your spine, in your fingers, and in the back of your skull. We can’t remove the front or back skull shrapnel as this would cause a brain hemorrhage.” Also, does anyone notice that the first missile sound around here (2:37) sounds like the Game Over sound from the games?
I like that you can still hear Big Boss' voice. With headphones it sounds like he's whispering to you, which is fitting since in that scene he is speaking to Venom.
Maybe it’s just me but Venom snake’s story might Actually be similar to the boss’ story in snake eater. Both of them are loyal soldiers to great leaders, they’re both supporting Big Boss in a way on What are supposed to be simple rescue missions, rescue missions go wrong because their leaders where dumb enough to give powerful weapons to two of the biggest A-holes in the franchise, leader decides to use loyal Soldier as a scapegoat to further their own plans, Soldier goes along with it, Soldier gets killed by a Young Soldier in the Big boss family codenamed Snake, both of them have close ties to the real Big boss, After being killed by snakes The truth behind their deaths go on to be forgotten by history (the boss being seen as a traitor and Venom being mistaken for the real Big boss).
+AlexDeGhost Try and look on the Extended OST, available since yesterday on iTunes (have no idea if it will be anywhere else, but since it's 114 tracks it's going to be digital only for sure). I have ripped tons of music from MGS V, but to be perfectly honest... I cannot distinguish a lot of the tracks which are not cutscene-related. After digging through hundreds of music files (a whole lot of duplicates) the mission/exploration/whatever music sounded so samey, that I could not tell where it is from. But since there is an official release, it should be somewhat well organized on the OST - and it most certainly is there, as it contains everything not included on the first OST and much more (unused songs, or a short mission complete jingle that turns out to be a full 4-minute track). You'll have to dig a bit for it though, at first glance there is no track having that mission name in the title, might be named otherwise. Good luck!
+gurt1337 Hmm..well can you upload the version of 'V has come to" that plays when Ocelot and Venom Snake ride off to the ship n the horse. It also plays in the episode 2 trailer
A what-if RWBY scenario. Yang, now completely well rested and rehabilitated, makes one last mental preparation before she seeks out her scattered team. She gets her her scroll and pulls up a most familiar picture: the very reason of her lifelong passion for combat, now a cause that wound up with a greater net loss than whatever gains the future could ever give in return. She stares at the picture of one who once gave her life and purpose.......now among her top three most resented. Before taking off to get Weiss and find Blake, she takes herself off the radar by smashing her own scroll in the palm of her left hand with the picture of Raven Branwen still on display, strongly hinting at her new found intentions for her mother.
