But, to me bass feels low end -less when processed. I would leave DI track, boost some 40 Hz and 100, cut some 200-ish and boost some 1 to 2k. I would rather hi pass kick around 40 Hz.

To my knowledge thats how isolated unprocessed bass tracks sound like. You can go to Iron Maiden isolated bass track videos find these same comments. Its just how its naturally supposed to sound in a live performance without a click track

Interesting approach to the sub range. Alot of people teach that only one can exist, either the kick or the bass. I'm wondering if you side chain the bass to the kick for ducking

Hi David, Great Video! i have a question, on your bass sum, you can see -90 db of noise floor from the chain. on the mixdown you will reduce that noise? or you don't mind about that? (i have the same issue on my mixes)

Can you do a video on when to use compression I know how to use it (sort of) it's just when to use it, people seem to use it on every track... Is it really that necessary? Or if you have already made a video on it can you give me a link? Much appreciated!

I did not had a clue that we can use so much eq`s in signal chain one after another and not to cause phase issues.

***** Thanks a lot for an answer. Oh,I am aware that phase shift and having phase problems between tracks are different things. I always used maximum 2 eq`s per track.One digital,more surgical and one analog emulation style. I just did not know we can use multiple eq`s on one track. This can make life much easier. ;)
