If someone calls themselves a metal fan, but can't appreciate the true artistry and beauty in Sleep Token's songs, then they are lost in a shallow pool of close mindedness.
I also feel sort of similar. It didn't seem like he was really allowing himself to feel the song because he was trying to do a "good reaction". Which I get, but also didnt sit right with me
Yess absolutely, this song, Blood Sport and Are You Really Okay... I love their groovy, heavy stuff, but these songs are just so nice to really sink into 🥹
@@Omertahun not cool, dude, not cool at all... he wears a mask for a reason, respect his wish and protect his identity. He gives us amazing music, the least we can do is shut the fuck up.
@Omertahun i kindly ask you to delete your comment. Some people are actively trying to avoid knowing who they because they are obviously trying to hide their identities. Don't kill the magic for other people bro
I really liked this tune, the highlight being the moment that the drums comes in, it sounds jazzy idk. Alkaline is still my favorite so far, but i cant wait to hear the album
I love how his reaction is basically everyone's reaction of Sleep Token, just not a clue where it's going, thinking you know where it's going and it's not going there. This is probably one of my favorite songs by them so far. First time on Nik's Channel though so I think I'll stay awhile haha.
Is Alkaline the only other Sleep Token song he’s heard? I think it’s weird to compare this song to Alkaline rather than comparing it to songs like Give, Levitate, and Blood Sport.
This band is out of this world. Sometimes I don't know what's going on but I'm loving every second of it lmao. The song is dope, vocals are amazing as always
This is still my favorite song of theirs, the amount of times i listen to it a day is embarrassing. Im genuinely mad that i slept on this band for so long (pun intended?) They have quickly become an obsession. I usually cant get into gimmicks but theirs is cool and mysterious and makes it all about the music and story they tell. So in love with their visuals and sound. Theres no one like them.
This might be my favorite Sleep Token song next to The Night Does Not Belong to God. Or really anything off the newest record. I could listen to it everyday and never get sick of it.
After listening to II's drumeo interview and how he's been inspired by gospel drummers as opposed to speedplayers, I can really feel the uplifting bit after the break when everyone comes in for the last chorus and closing verse.
The immediate "Don't" after he noticed they were time frozen like a fucking video game. Such a cute reaction while listening and being respectful. Subbed. ♥
Love this one!! Alot more than alkaline. It took a couple listens but then I realized how hard it hits in a different kinda way. Definitely give it more listens nik
@@harveydjent_ I don't suppose you know which one? I'm combing through each video to try to find it. Found it, it's in the 500 heaviest breakdowns video. This video was absolutely one of the most beautiful pieces of art I have ever seen… especially since everyone can take a different view of art this does connect with what I’ve been through in the past few months… Worship!!
Proove, that metal bands make way better Pop/pop-rock songs than the artists that are known for this genre. Crazy good band. Really excited for the whole album. Gonna be fantastic I guess.
I love this track so much (like every other sleep token song) and it has everything that old prog music was known for, that infectious pop tone, the jazziness, the almost gospal styled drumming, the badass rock/metal guitars and it actually progresses and builds up through out the tune instead of blowing its load 20 seconds in like most prog/metal acts these days. a true 10/10 from me
The best part of 2022 was me finding Sleep Token from this video of yours. To be honest I was starting to find a lot of music stale and then this walked into my life and revitalized everything. Thanks :D
This song focused more on ambiance and general sonic composition. The production is so spacey for it to be a metal track and yet there’s djenty guitars that come in later in the track. I loved that. I wish more metal bands could focus more on creating atmosphere and a feeling rather than just heaviness. Idk how they aren’t as big as BMTH when literally everyone I’ve mentioned them to has loved them.
I really dig this tho tbh. There's a slightly bouncy effect to it that just really fits with the melody. First Sleep Token song I've ever listened to tbh
Yeah nik this song really does have a chill side to it and the guitar riffs were so epic cool heavy vibe which is awesome I love the fact that the drums have the groove smooth vibe on the vocals very awesome I love that energetic string performance I enjoyed it it’s a 4 niks too on this one great track solid track I agree man love u 😘
I think Vessel is reliving a moment outside of time and space and after each death ties a new ribbon up to mark the number of attempts. Kinda reminds me of the gameplay concept for Dead Cells.
I love that you can't really put Sleep Token into one category. They have a really nice variety and I've loved everything by them so far. They always keep you guessing what they're going to do next.
Tuning? Probably somewhere between F# and Drop D# (Below Drop E 8 string). I have two custom Rocksmith files of their songs and those are the two tunings used.
I love your thoughts on songs so much but this song made me wonder if certain songs/bands who are doing something a little unorthodox might warrant a second reaction/analysis a few weeks/months later after you’ve heard it more. I am curious if you’d be more down with the pacing of given a few more plays. I think it would make a great segment to hear your thoughts after you’ve heard a song several times.
I absolutely fucking adore this song in how it flirts so blatantly with all the things i like in "contemporary worship music" like Hillside United, but without all the... You know. Stuff I don't vibe with in that genre/cult/style. And that fucking build to the somehow chill but heavy last chorus... Sleep Token really knows how to compose music y'all, no matter the flavour.
ok so i just discovered this band. Alkaline, Hypnosis... those are insane and they really got me hooked hard but... this song straight up knocked me senseless.
I don't know if you have already listen to their album sundowing but that's the kind of song that Sleep token does and make them unique even tho they have softer songs and really heavier ones. So for me the 2 new songs are like great in their own way
I know this video is old but I think the argument that this is a radio friendly song is kinda null and void because like, ya, the band needs to make money. It is keeping true to their sound but also approachable for new fans
