Incredible haul Simon, you're really getting into the good stuff! I never thought to hear someone in the VC use the term "basic bitch" to describe something, but if I had to guess it would be you... and myself, haha. Master Control the best Liege Lord album? Is that a weird Australian way to pronounce Freedom's Rise? Because that is clearly their best. That Sadus is definitely the winner of this video.
@ExplosiveAction
@ExplosiveAction 7 месяцев назад
Haha! Well it's the best Liege Lord for me but to be fair I don't own the others yet! And I'm thrilled with the Sadus

Kublai Khan had the ex-guitarist of Megadeth (Greg Handavit) who was with them from mid-1983 to early 1984. He moved back to where he and David Ellefson from when he got booted from Megadeth and formed Kublai Khan.

@@ExplosiveAction Ya, it is one of the few bands that were created by ex-Megadeth or Metallica members. Ron McGovney from Metallica also had a band after he got booted, they were called Defcon. That Kublai Khan is much better than the modern band under that name 🤣

I´d love to have an OG of that Sadus but it´s simply not available here in Germany 😞 Speaking of Germany, the story for the Accept intro goes like this: It´s written specifically for the album, not an old German folklore and it´s sung by the producer´s kids. Udo tells the story like this and the producer as well. I like "Breaker" a bit better, that´s when they started to become a METAL band. Keep your hands off the first two, you would hate them, hahaha... The Kublai Khan album is pretty cool, the Metallica / Megadeth leanings are obvious. Might have something to do with the fact that Greg Handevidt was in Megadeth for five minutes in the beginning.
@ExplosiveAction
@ExplosiveAction 7 месяцев назад
Ahhh, sung by the producers kids! That got tangled into urban legend then, with some stories saying it's an old recording of Udo himself. I'll check out Breaker at some point, thanks for the recommendation!

I do remember Anthrax breaking their song structures down in the lyric sheet for Among the Living. They labeled the choruses, bridges, solos and mosh parts. Lol.

Sweet haul of OGs man 🤘Kublai Khan is a great album, I would give it more of an 8/10 imo. Does your copy look like it had a hype sticker for a free poster on the front, mine has the sticker but missing the poster. Cross Fire I have on my wantlist but not in a hurry to hunt it down. Didn’t know that about Cities, cool find. Great Destruction album 🤘killer find on Leige Lord, funny you mention Sanctuary as I just finally found an OG copy and it’s on the way. Sadus rules excellent pick up man, hard one to come by in any condition. Have an awesome weekend mate
@ExplosiveAction
@ExplosiveAction 7 месяцев назад
Cheers mate! Kublai Khan is perfectly fine, and it might grow on me over time! No evidence of hype sticker, nor a poster inside. Interesting! Super stoked on the Liege Lord but over the moon with Sadus. That first Sanctuary is a ripper, glad you got it!

Interesting as usual, Simon. For me Liege Lord, I would happily hug such an original copy. The same with Cities, years ago I saw this album and EP, now it has not appeared in my sight for many years... It's a pity, it has been on my wish list for so long. Cheers, man\,,/

Oh shit man, thanks for the shout! I never bit on that Kublai Khan record, back when I used to see it around all the time.... it was one of those I never really heard anything good about. Of course, I never heard anything good about Seventh Son of a Seventh Son till more than a decade either, so..... I've never had a problem with a little boogie, but I used to really hate blues rock: i didn't come around on it till I was in my early 40s. So you might come around on the boogie thing someday too, you're not too old! hahaha

Killer haul Simon. Love Chastain's first 5 albums. Drums are by Ken Mary ( Fifth Angel, Chastain, Alice Cooper, House of Lords, Flotsam & Jetsam) He's a killer drummer. I've been searching for that Cross Fire album. Love the cheesiness of Mausoleum Records. I wouldn't mind that Banshee ep as well.

Nice haul Simon! There are some good stuff in there, some i have not heard in many decades and even some timeless classics and favorites. Accept Restless And Wild, masterpiece! Fast as the Shark changed my life forever, one of those songs that fortified my journey as a headbanger back in the day. Accept with the old lineup brought some of the best live shows i ever seen, infact two of the top shows i ever saw was Accept. I personally love Metal Heart, it is a great album, but i like most of the old stuff and days with Udo and Accept. I find the whole Cities thing very interesting. I like that Destruction album a lot Release from Agony has a lot of brilliant stuff in it, i still have my Vinyl that i got so many years back in my collection, and i got it for a good deal because of the very reason that they did not like it, i myself prefer the more technical and varied direction that they offered on that album. Sadus had some good stuff, just regret i let my albums and old shirts go, sucks but sometimes you have no choice and that is how life goes. Horns up!
@ExplosiveAction
@ExplosiveAction 7 месяцев назад
Yeah sometimes you have to do what you gotta do, but the musc is always out there to listen to! Yeah the Cities story here is interesting, and confusing lol. As for Destruction, I like that there are different ranges for the teutonic bands. You can go as far back to primitive first-wave black metal sounding, or all the way to progressive and technical (and some horrible choices in-between!)

Hey man, just subbed to your channel! Love your content and the content you are uploading for us! I was wondering if you could help me find or know the name of this film. I and about 15 plus other people from around the world are in the hunt for it. We have loads of details of the film as we all remember seeing it on late night TV or rented it on VHS back in the 1990s so I can email you more details if needed. I saw it on late night TV in Australia during the early 2000s or late 90s when I was around 10 to 13. The sheer martial arts action and brutal fighting is what stuck with me. We think it was made anywhere between 1980s to 1990s. It basically is about a hero we believe from memory that is a westerner agent or special force guy. His brother enters a fight tournament in Asia somewhere and gets killed by this guy with multiple blades in his hair that uses a capoeira type of fighting style. We think hes either Asian or black. His blades usually catch fighters in the neck and he kills them. The brother then enters the tournament and goes to avenge his brother's death and seek revenge. He eventually does, but he basically has to fight his way through other fighters in the tournament, and once he kills the bladed hair guy, he's still forced to fight in the tournament to escape. The arena setting is like sandpit with torch lights almost and the fighters are locked in almost like a black cage with steel bars almost like a cell block. The fights are all to the death and extremely violent and brutal. Fighters that die are taken to this hole near the pit and then thrown down disposed of by some henchmen we think. It's a lot like American Samurai and Gladitor Cop almost, but from memory, the fighting was a lot more brutal and dark. Another scene i remember, is that this asian fighter very well built enters the arena through a cell door. He then goes to sitdown and watch a deathmatch between fighters. Hopefully you recognise this film. I and my other friends have been searching for this gem for nearly 20 years. We have looked at so many different movie sites, reddit movie communities and forums and watched 100s of these types of movies. It seems to be ultra rare and ultra obscure! Fingers crossed you know. Thank you friend. Kindest Regards Eythyn
@ExplosiveAction

Oh man. That could be 500 "forced to fight" films. I threw this past another fan and he said the same. Could it be Balance of Power/Hidden Tiger with Billy Blanks and Mako (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BHptwEikvYg.html)? The pit part sounds like it could be Rings of Steel (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-td_f_bkFUHo.html)

Another good candidate would be Shootfighter: Fight to the Death (1993) with Bolo. Definitely in a cage with an array of wild fighters (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZNssxv8T2ls.html)

@ExplosiveAction Unfortunately it's none of these movies friend, I've seen so many different lists and searched 1000s of movies and I am yet to find it. I feel it may be an action as the films plot and story is based on the hero trying to find the leader or crime boss and then he gets caught up in all these deathmatches.
