Thanks for making this video, it was great! Because of the low cost of custom made metal signs using DTF, I could see people offering metal signs with photos of family, pets and special events. Thanks again!
Wasn't necessarily planning to but maybe...if I can think of a good test. Any suggestions? My biggest piece of advise when DTFing a hard surfaces is to use a spray clear coat to help it be more durable.
Place wood sign face down in cold heat press and shut lid. Leave it for about a half hour. The pressure from the press will flatten the bow caused by the heat. Works on canvas boards and any other porous hard surfaces that tend to bow under the heat (it's the moisture). Works like a charm every time.
no sublimation will be more durable, it's the better option for metal signs. This was mostly an experiment to see if it would work for folks that just have a DTF printer and no sublimation.
Yes, a JiuJitsu gi top. There are several low cost brands available on Amazon. I'm just wondering how well the dtf would adhere to the heavy weave of the fabric.
no but there may be some oil or coating on it to keep it from weathering. try scuffing it with some sand paper and wiping it down with some isopropyl alcohol to remove and coating or oil.
