I'm 71 and Dan just knocked my socks off with this rendition! He has a beautiful voice and he even sings opera! I don't like metal, but I follow him because of his voice. Dan has done a few other Christian hymns..

Dan is from Brazil. He is also half Italian. The harmonica he played was given to him by his father and the first instrument he played. This young man can sing anything. Listen to his Elvis trilogy dedicated this dad. The tears in his eyes at the end will grab your heart. His opera floors me. Go down his rabbit hole..you will be glad you did.

That's the way it should be sung. At the start a new believer unsure of things. Then growing in the lord and more confidence with the octave change. Then the power of a warrior for God at the end shouting praise to God. Dan captures the meaning of the song as it ramps up each verse. This is what I imagine it's like in heaven shouting praise to God in song. He is one of the best singers in the world today. He hasn't made a bad video. Also check out Haley Rhinehart. Welcome to a one-in-a-million talent festival! Dan can sing ANY genre of song with ease. He is in a band called Fearles and they live in Brazil. I am a new fan and there is a treasure trove of videos to watch. Yea, I listen to this every day, it's my favorite version of this song and I saw that you had never done a reaction video on it. You can not go thru another week without having heard this. I'm such a sucker for monster ballads and metal with full on symphonic winds and strings and when he pulls out the harmonica, it reminds me of bagpipe versions. It's everything from Gramma sitting in church singing it to a bagpipe band playing it to full on Metallica on stage with the symphony orchestra. I'm so glad you've now listened to it. He is an amazing singer. He hasnt updated his channel but he has alot of content on it so you should bless yourself and go down this wonderful rabbit hole and 🎉listen to some of his other music while you work or drive or mow. I am not a religious person. Dan had me in tears . HF How Great Thou Art gives me chills and makes my heart swell. This does that and more! It isn’t sad. It’s a spiritual journey.

My father was Welsh and a singer. We always knew he wanted this song at his funeral. So when he died last year I was surprised to see in his will it was this version he wanted. Everyone loved loved it.....

Dan Vasc's version of Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar is one of the best I have ever heard. Technically excellent, but his passion makes you feel the blood mixing with the sweat as he pleads with God. And that is what the Passion is all about.

Did you notice the subtle lyric change that made the build more powerful??? The arrangement of this is genius and what makes it so moving! It is the progression through a man's life, from spiritual rebirth to death and then heaven. The first 3 verses are in past or present tense, the 3rd verse ending "and grace will lead me home". The harmonica piece (sounding eerily like bagpipes) signifies the death (funeral), or "going home". then the 4th verse begins (very powerfully and passionately) with "When we've been HERE 10,000 years". John Newton's original lyrics go, "When we've been THERE 10,000 years", as if he is looking forward to being there. However in this rendition he sings as if he has just arrived there. Newton wrote it in future tense but Dan changed that verse to be in present tense as well. If John Newton could hear this, I believe he'd say, "Now THAT is how I meant it!!!" Brother, THAT is how we're all going to sing and worship the Lamb one day!

Comes from a spot in the soul not many ever find. Any singer can say the words, but don't have the conviction of the original. I've watched a few other songs Dan's done, and every one comes from not just his words, they come from within his soul. He put all he's got into each one, and that IMHO is what makes them so incredible. Rock ballads, especially, require feeling, and conviction. You can't just sing the words. They gotta come from a place deep within. You've gotta FEEL them in your bones!!! He brings that to every song. It's what truly separates him from virtually all others. U can see it in his body language. He is in 110%! It's what makes you and I feel those words thru our bones. That all in, from deep in his soul conviction. Beyond incredible. And his voice? Holy cow. He even pulled off Freddie Mercury!
June 19, 2023. Found Dan Vasc less than a week ago. I have been "Vasc"inated! God blesses me through this rendition every time I play it, which is often. I hope you will continue to share Dan with your family and friends. I just can't get enough.
