METAL SINGER SINGS AMAZING GRACE! (Dan Vasc Reaction) 

I am almost75 and have been a Dan Vasc fan for only 3 months. I always "hated" metal music because in my limited exposure I thought all metal was the same - screaming unintelligible words, loud and weird, but Dan changed all of that for me. I now know that some metal singers can truly sing and they sing with power. Dan is a Christian and he feels the words that he sings. He sings everything from Opera to Disney songs. He is a You Tube singer by choice - he did not want to sell out to the music establishment.

The harmonica is a childhood gift from his deceased father; apparently this song was one of his Dad's favorites as well. Dan Vasc is a Brazilian who has worked for over 10 years to be able to put this strength into his voice. He has stated he is a Christian; specifically a Methodist. He put this out on Good Friday. I'm sure that was no coincidence. He has over 200 videos out there spanning the years he worked on his art; most of his stuff is secular. Some of Christian stuff is "Adeste Fideles", "Angels We Have Heard on High", Handel's "Hallelujah" (he sings all parts) and Roy Khan's "For All." But all his stuff is fire. I never liked metal before I discovered Dan Vasc. Metal to me was a wall of sound without access to melody or vocals. Dan has changed that for me. So much of his covers are songs he gilds in metal to raise the bar. He does have a band "Fearless" and they put out an album with songs several years ago based on biblical and mythical themes. I have sung "Amazing Grace" in church as a Methodist growing up and as now a Catholic and I could always feel it wanted this kind of power to emphasize its message but my simple voice did not have what it took. This song waited 250 years for Dan Vasc to develop his voice to give it the strength it needs; a journey from humble acceptance of the Lord's gift to the triumph of Heaven before the Throne. Although Dan put all his strength into this song, I truly feel the Holy Spirit has added to it. The way it touches people is stellar. Thank you for reviewing this. I don't think no one on God's green earth can sing Amazing Grace the way Dan Vasc does . I'm 65 and have heard this song a million times . This is by far the best ever .

Dan is a practicing Christian and it truly shows. He has a few Christian songs on his Channel--One awesome one in particular is the song "Beyond Belief" with Born Again Christian John Schlitt who lived a decadent life for decades before coming to Christ. Dan personifies the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover".

He doesn't do anything halfway, he's emotionally invested in his performances. Even non-believers are just never the same after hearing Dan Vasc’s masterfully crafted and powerfully delivered rendition of this beloved hymn. His ability to turn a harmonica into bagpipes is truly magical! 😃. The electric scalp to toe shock at “When we’ve been here 10,000 years..” hitting my ears has not waned at all. 😱 Expect it never will as I’ve yet to reach a saturation threshold with regards to listening. There are lots of different types of metal and metal singers come with different types of capabilities. Dan is a Power Metal singer and his vocal range is impressive. He's also had classical training.

A whole new dynamic to a very traditional hymn. This was not just a song, to Dan, this becomes the true journey from a humbled new believer's gratitude to a victory anthem at the transformation of the tentative Believer into a Knower of God's infinite love for us and his faithfulness to keep his promises of everlasting life is clear. The stages of growth are perfectly defined in the incremental infusion of power and conviction for each verse. The beauty of the repetition of the first verse at the end compared to the beginning is nothing less than the battle cry of a triumphant spiritual warrior who now resides with the Father in glory just as was promised through the sacrifice of the Son. Amen and amen! WOW, what a ride!!!

Was an amazing reaction. Laughed as your face changed.🤣🤣🤣 I was also prejudiced against metal singers until I met my husband 25 years ago. I was into Abba and he listened to Ozzy Ozbourne. I sneered my nose down on his music until he gradually enhanced my education. Many metal singers are classically trained and therefore fully capable to sing opera. Also many of the lyrics of the classic metal bands/vocalists are very deep and poetic. Yes, I still do not enjoy some types of metal but I especially love symphonic metal like Dio and Nightwish. Dan vasc is opening doors for many. Being open to listening and understanding others is a good first step on any path to love. 🎶💐💜💐🎶 I was introduced to Dan Vasc's music by a fellow Dimash Dear from Brazil in 2021. You’ve never heard of Dan Vasc? Did you have any idea of how deprived you were?😂 Your reaction was awesome! He is a Brazilian Christian who sings all genres including opera, rock, folk and metal, pop etc. I haven’t heard him do any rap though, so not all genres. In fact I don’t think he’s done any country either come to think of it. His Christian songs include Adeste Fideles (Oh come all ye faithful), Joy (Newsboys cover), Angels we have heard on high in four languages, You are loved-Don’t give Up (Josh Groban cover) and one or two others if I remember right. His opera covers include Nessun Dorma, Phantom of the Opera and Music of the Night. He also did a cover of Disturbed’s cover of Sound of Silence.

First time hearing a blue's harp solo in this song but it did remind me of a bagpipe which is all too familiar with this song.. His range and vocal control is akin to Disturb's Sound of Silence, taking the angst and passion high notes back down to the low with perfection.

Oh wow! Your reactions to this and emotional is making me tear up(which I do EVERY TIME despite hearingit hundreds of times since Easter! ). My Granny had a harmonica, I play piano and come from a VERY musical (and God-fearing) background...in BOTH sides of my family. And at many different family gatherings/reunions we'd gather around the pliano and sing as she played harmonica. And Im a PK (Preacher's Kid) so I've heard and sung it thousands of times throughout my 55 years! This was ABSOLUTELY 💯 💯 💯 THE BEST version EVER! And I feel like all of Heaven stopped to listen!! I grew up as a pastors kid, my mom and dad were ministers in the Salvation Army, so right off the bat, marching music/full band music was a go to. Then they have their choirs and whatnot, so the hymns to somewhat broadway style songs even... after that, my parents were a little tighter reigned with me, but my brother and sister had all sorts of music (hence why they were tighter reigned with me) everything from A/C D/C to Michael Jackson, Van Halen, Motely Crue, Def Leopard and so on... I also listened to just the radio and was exposed to so much more, along with the Sandi Patti, Psalty the Singing Song book, Charity Church Mouse, Amy Grant, Rebecca St. James, David Meece, Michael W. Smith, Rhythm & News, P.O.D. ... I absolutely love all types of music! We have to appreciate it, and even if it's a low growl gravel sound it can be used to glorify God, I mean, we are told that if we don't proclaim Him as Lord the rocks will cry out... I wonder what their sound would be like? This rendition of Amazing Grace is absolutely beautiful! I loved your reaction and facial expressions when his voice finally went to the gravel/growl sounds. ❤❤

when I watch reaction videos I have to admit that I look out for stuff that I've always liked and just see if others like what I like .My curiosity made me watch this one because of the piece of music. The band that was the inspiration for Dan to become a professional singer was the Christian band Petra. And years later he was blessed with the opportunity to collaborate with Petra on their song "Beyond Belief". He has stated that it was the highlight of his career. That cover is on his channel. The metal Dan brought into this hymn is beautiful and makes the story that he created, with words that so many of us have known for a very long time, absolutely beautiful. What we think we know about metal (screaming, relentless guitars, satanic worship, animal sacrifices, etc.) is prejudice. Vasc performs power metal, which is likely accessible to anyone who likes hard rock. He has trained, worked hard and is talented, but many don't realize that this is required for the expert level of musicianship and vocal skill to perform metal well. I'm as much a fan of Jesus as the next Christian, and I'm as much in awe of Vasc's metal performances as this song. I don't know Vasc, but I can speak to conversing with the vocalist of a death metal band about merch last week, and he was approachable, competent (I changed my order twice!), efficient, and so very appreciative of my support. He didn't mention the devil once. 🤘

Loved your reaction. I was ‘t sure what you were going to think of this. I would never have consider listening to metal before this son and many other felt the same way. I listen to and enjoy Dan’s style of metal. I heard he released this one at Easter, because he felt the meaning of Easter was being lost in present culture.
