Never played Metal Slug but i absolutely love to watch it. EVERYTHING in this game is 100% eye candy - gorgeous backgrounds, units, ships, trains, attention to detail is INSANE.
Back when I was a kid, I didn't realize the first mission was located in my country! 😂 It's in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I just remembered recently about the first mission and the first Bayon statue, I had to make sure if it's true and yep, Angkor Wat was there too.
I don't care about the ultra hd graphics neither 1000000 fps, when a game is really good, there's no space for pathetic thoughts... Metal slug is a real classic.
Funny that at least at first consoles and console ports was advertised as way to SAVE money spent on arcade machines. So buying game was way to play cheap. Not today, however.

Brings back memories. Never completed the original game but i do remember finishing a version with my cousin. The zombie section was funny because we could vomit blood.
As a kid I used to play It on bars/pubs in arcade machines. Boy, those were good times, with only one coin to finish The game before some drunk Bully come in and knock me out. 😂😂😂
I was a champion of this game, I could finish the game with one coin and sometimes without dieing! I learnt a trick that work for desperate situation when you drive the tank: jumping out from it gives you few seconds of invulnerability so you go through difficult points, but when you jump inside the tank it has not invulnerability. This player commit too much errors! When you have tank and prisoner give you bombs, jump out (invulnerability) and take bombs, not missiles, than with tank you can throw tens of bombs in few seconds to destroy bosses (accumulate bombs during legels without using them). Another trick is to illude bosses going right left and waiting them shot in that direction. There are a lot of points in levels to shot that hide bonus prisoners you have to know them!

The lieutenant started the game the villain with the patch over his eye is the team leader of the metal slug squad the lieutenant didn't have a choice he was being told what to do the lieutenant was given a choice suffer the same Faith or start the game all right soldiers everyone from the metal slug group it's not optional you have to get a colon cleanse and start eating garlic I don't care what it takes to get in shape get it done everyone gets along no one dies alright soldiers go find some humans who beat old women and death is a interesting topic humbleness is awesome
Honestly, I've always felt bad for killing the soldiers, but then again they're literal Nazis with dozens of war crimes lore-wise. So yeah, Metal Slug is basically Wolfenstien in a way lol.
