45:22 20 soldiers repeatedly came out of the cave and got killed in an exact same manner (and exact same death cry). This is hilarious... but yes I counted. I am as patient as the mummy waiting on the left.
At a local arcade, I spent 3.75$ trying to beat this game nearly 12 years ago. I died at mission 4 on my last try before heading home in dissatisfaction of my failure on the last of my quarters. Still one of my favorites in the franchise though.
Of all secrets bad ending is missing. The one when you let yourself get caught in explosion on final run. But still glad to see, that there is alternative path underneath the bridge in level 1.
The worst thing I hate in Metal Slug 4 is the rebels disguised in those green purple suits in the mummy route of mission 4 and they are truly the worst monsters ever that they are endlessly dropping rolling balls to the hero to form massive amount of mummies for them to kill just for creating maximum extended distraction to the player in the game and time.
The complete/original image, I couldn't say. But if it helps, it's based on the cover of "Lo Voglio Morto" (I Want Him Dead) (1968) You can find the stage sprites at "The Spriters Resource" (Neo Geo > M > Metal Slug 4 > Mission 1-2) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TT88hKLebv0.html
@xxgoku77 When a player collects a Blue or White Emblem, a depleting blue gauge appears under their score counter. The player can earn medals in this short time limit by racking up points in any way possible. White Emblems have a timer of fifteen seconds while Blue Emblems have ten seconds. The color medals represent the total amount of points collected during the combo time. The player can increase the number of medals by performing better on the next Emblem. Note that the number of medals awarded in conjunction with points collected is inconsistent. This time limit can end prematurely anytime the player boards a Slug as the Slug Gauge overrides the Metallish Gauge. Likewise, collecting an Emblem while riding a Slug negates its effects. The medals change color for every four collected. Four gray medals (also known as Metalish in game) is the maximum amount. The Recaptured Prisoners screen gives out bonus points depending on the number of color medals a player has collected. Like Prisoners of War, medals are lost upon death.
But at least it gives its own charm by being a level that takes good parts we all remember from the other metal slug games from start to finish until you get to the boss
My only problem with it is the same I have with Metal Slug 3: they're pornographically difficult, it's absurd, even on level 2-3 of difficulty. Trying to dodge feels like a waste of effort
@JDF Yes, the "Anti-Contra Battleship Dodriguez", the fourth boss in Contra III: The Alien Wars is somewhat similiar to "The Brave Guerrier", the first boss in Metal Slug 4. They are both gigantic flying battleships capable of unleashing mass amounts of destruction.
@@TurkishBullet19 Lot of similarities to Contra III through out the game, I think it's awesome. You're killing it at these Longplay by the way! enjoyed your RE2 RE3 and RE Code Veronica runs as well.
@JDF Yes, I like both Contra and Metal Slug series as well. 👍🏻 And thank you so much, JDF. 🙏🙏 I'm very glad to hear that you like my Metal Slug and Resident Evil Longplays / Walkthroughs. Thank you very much for that and for taking your time to watch my Metal Slug and Resident Evil Longplays / Walkthroughs. I really appreciate it! 😊🙏
You missed the part where the scientist shoots you and you turn into a monkey... That's why I came here but you missed it. You have to let him shoot you.

@Ramírez García Delia Fabiola As of Metal Slug 3 and onwards, you have a choice of hidden routes in almost every mission. Great gameplay but you triggered me so hard in stage 3 when you swap flameshot to iron missile the boss wont last long if you have flameshot i use to spam it together with fire bomb
@Raul Hood Thank you, Raul! It sure took a lot of time to practice and study the whole game before making this Walkthrough / Longplay video. I also had to be very patient. Countless runs were ruined while making a No Slug Damage / No Death run Longplay / Walkthrough.
Holy hell, i thought that people exaggerated when they said MS4 was a ROmHack, i don't think there's a single background in this game that isn't ripped out of MS1/2/3.. Still, a good romhack but a horrible for an official title. it should've been called "Metal Slug Remixed" or something. Not Metal Slug 4.
