Metal Vocalist First Time Reaction - BABYMETAL - MAYA - LIVE - BLACK NIGHT 

Great reaction. The middle stage went up and down, they could walk/duck under the rail surrounding the middle stage to get to the two outer stages ... when you watch the concerts you will see that. This was Black Night (1st April), so Momoko was still performing as an Avenger (ie dancing, not singing) and she was revealed as the new third member at the end of the show. Clear Night (2nd April) they had their new shiny costumes and Momoko was all mic'd up and finally performing as Momometal. Because of that and the lore etc it will only make sense if you watch Black Night first, Clear Night second.

The nasty riffs reminds to "Ice Nine Kills - Rainy Day". Maya in Hindu myth is the representation of illusion (which is the theme in this song), so that's the reference. It may be magic, or it may be an illusion._ The Western Kami Band playing this live at PIA Arena MM (April 1st) certainly gives some aggressive flavor and with MomoMetal now officially as a new member, just so you know this was performed during Black Night (that's why they're wearing the old battle dress from Metal Galaxy era), at the end of this night she was announced as MomoMetal, the night after this (Clear Night) they're wearing the new costume you can see at Mirror Mirror, METALIZM official MV and more recently Divine Attack - Shingeki. Momo's final show as an Avenger. She becomes a full member in the finale. The night everything changes. Center stage goes up and down and there are paths in the back left and right. But when you watch the full shows youll see how it works. This stage is pretty dang complex. Maya is the song that made me want The Other One to come out so bad. The main riff sounds so much like Disturbed's Ten Thousand Fists, and I immediately learned it, its very very similar.

That is one of eight guitars used in this concert. This song was played 9 times during their North American tour with DETHKLOK. That is different from this video filmed on Day-1 (April 1) "Black Night" in Yokohama when the performance was done right before the dawn of newly born BABYMETAL. Momometal was not official member yet and she did not have a mic back then. (In "Clear Night" on following day, Momo did.) [FYI : I witnessed this very performed live with West (American) Kami Band at the venue. Japanese fans always appreciate the devoted support by Chris, CJ, Anthony and Clint (Ryan replaced now). I can't explain how amazing it was with my English vocabulary. 😍] Regarding "Maya", Su said in an interview "The lyrics in English 'How would you know ... is all an illusion' is not the kind of expression that BABYMETAL have not had in the past." I was a little bummed BM didn't play this one at the shows I went to on the US tour. I saw Believing and Mirror Mirror instead, which were both great too, but I like the choreo a lot for Maya. Not the most complex BM song, but it's a cool/heavy riff, and great choreo with their silhouettes.

This song blew the roof off of the place where I saw their concert. That is such a powerful riff.... This has stuck with me for over a month it was that memorable.

Saw ‘em twice this week. While I love the whole catalog I was most looking forward to BxMxC live. It was great but Maya live is something special. That riff hits so fu**ing and then Su’s angelic voice comes in. People can say what they want about them, I’m an old man and old school metal guy and these ladies Kick Ass and doubly so live.

So this song has been living rent free in my head for weeks, and I went to see if it was Drop C or Cb to try to come up with a piano version of it, and found out it's in Drop E. I just laughed and smirked, and wondered how you even arrive at Drop E. Probably need an extra string I'd think, but like - yup, of course it's Drop E, this song just fucking slaps.

The center platform that they are on raises and lowers so when it's completely raised it's almost even with the back portion of the outer part of the structure

Su Metal might be one of the best vocalists in a long time. That's not meant to take away from Mo or Momo, but like...Su Metal is on her own planet, she's a goddess. Whoever spotted her a decade ago really had it figured out, she's so good. Seeing a happy Su-Metal belting out bangers just brings warmth to my soul.
