i have a 6 in Drop C and a 7 in Drop A you bet I use the 7 for Drop D on the top 6 strings lol

Why not? You still have first six strings at a seven-string and you still can drop the 6th string to D

I have my first 7 string guitar arriving in a couple days. Wondering what it would be like if I tuned every string except the low B up a whole step for drop B but with my highest string being an F#, so I'd actually be getting a more range on both ends of the scale. That string tension may feel weird though??

That Boneyards riff is definitely the best one on this list. The whole Horizons album by Parkway Drive is a metal core staple for anyone's collection.

Some of my favourite metalcore riffs are just mainly Converge riffs. Heaven In Her Arms, Heartless, To The Lions, Reap What You Sow, Cutter, Trespasses, Arkhipov Calm, hell even some of their older stuff like Year Of The Swine, The Saddest Day, Albatros, Conduit, The High Cost Of Playing God, Locust Reign. Some other bands i’d mention are The Elephant Man In The Room, Star Baby and Beautiful Dude Missile by The Callous Daoboys’s recent LP. Idiot, Leatherneck, Guitarred And Feathered, A Gentlemen’s Sport, Map Change, their discography also have some great riffs.

Its crazy how I can consider myself an ex-corekid and I do not recognise a single band you listed.... I guess you can say the genre ended up very saturated. I think most metalcore is absolute trash now all the same. Some of it is still sick though in a guilty pleasure kinda way Like AA or Attack Attack ahaha BMTH etc

Would be pretty sick to see you cover some Before I Turn. Songs like Bereave, Gallows, Only to Fall are played on an 8 string tuned to Drop E. I'm pretty sure you're gonna like it, they're my favorite band, and they're beasts.

Killswitch engage does not deserve a spot on the top 10 medical riffs, and you played yours don't fall wrong. Supposed to use an open high D, not your base string
