Please recognize the fact that for The Warning’s first 2 albums and an e/p, the majority of the band were still in their teens! And fiercely independent. No “Hollywood” on their backs.
And their third album was completed and ready for a tour when the pandemic hit. That’s when they signed so they could record it with David Bendeth since all touring was cancelled.
As someone said, not a battle, as the two bands are fans and friends. As an intro to The Warning, they went viral in 2014 with a cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman when they were 9, 12 and 14 years of age. They honed their skills as kids doing covers of Muse, Foo Fighters and Guns and Roses. When they got older they opened for Muse, Foo Fighters and Guns and Roses. Metallica invited them to rework Enter Sandman for the Blacklist album. The Warning’s bassist Ale is considered family by Spector Bass guitars, known as the ‘Thunder Goddess’. Band-Maid’s bassist Misa did the outro in Show Them as a tribute to Ale’s outro in The Warning’s song Survive. The Warning’s drummer Pau was recognized as DRUMEO’s Best Rock Drummer of 2023. She takes turn singing lead WHILE drumming like a beast! TW’s lead guitar and singer Dany recognized by her peers. Matt Bellamy of Muse and Lzzy Hale of Halestorm both had specially made guitars gifted to her. When The Warning opened and toured with Three Days Grace, Dany was invited to be their frontwoman for TDG song Painkiller. If you like, check out any The Warning song live at the Pepsi Center. You want a battle? I love The Warning, but I would not want to go up against Akane. I would not want to compete against Kanami. And I sure as hell would not want to do battle against a barefoot assassin. But Band Maid don't do battles, Kanami and Misa have "conversations".

as a fan of both bands, i think this is much less a battle between them and much more an epic jam session between eight friends who all happen to be world-class musicians, all saying "hey, check this out!" :) they did perform it together live *once*, when they debuted it at a joint concert in Japan earlier this year. you should definitely do yourself the favor of checking out some of the warning. may i suggest their recently-released live performance of "disciple" from pepsi center, cdmx, on their youtube channel?

You definitely should check out some of The Warning's original music. There's literally no wrong song to listen to first because they don't have a bad song, but I would recommend checking out the videos from their 2023 10th anniversary concert at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City (CDMX) Just start at the beginning with"Disciple"
Actually there is a song to NOT start with, Breathe from the Pepsi center. As evidenced by a confused reactor (forgot their name) who randomly picked Breathe as his first song checking them out. Fortunately he tried some other songs and seems hooked now. Would probably include Black Holes from that concert as well.

@@thontor We are, he's the only one new to The Warning who picked Breathe as his first song, randomly he said, it wasn't a request if I recall. All's well as they say. Even without the back story, you can tell this was a special song by the performance and crowd reaction.

Band-Maid keeps solos, generally, to a minimum. “Keep them coming back for more” plus when they write a song they try to develop the song. Both these bands have become friends and The Warning, being the guest in this instance, did not want to outshine their host. However, Dany suggested that Band-Maid go to Mexico to continue this ‘Inter-Continental Friendship’ and that Band-Maid perform a song in Spanish. Sounds good to me! Maybe SAIKI could go back to her Contessa Outfit. Been awhile but glad to hear another reaction and comments. Keep rocking!
The way Kanami wrote the vocals when she started the song she had both singers sing in a slightly higher register than they normally sing in. She wanted to push both singers.
The Warning are the Villarreal Velez sisters, a rock band from Monterrey Mexico. Daniela (Dany) on guitar and most lead vocals, Paulina (Pau ,pronounced Pow) on drums and some lead vocals, and Alejandra(Ale) on bass and backing vocals. Their straight cover of Enter Sandman, from 10 years ago at ages 14 12 and 9, went viral. They have opened for Foo Fighters, Def Leppard, Muse, Halestorm, G'N'R', 3 Days Grace, and are now headlining some shows. 4 albums and a couple EP's to date. The last album, Keep Me Fed, just came out in June. Most of their songs are in English, with 3 songs in Spanish to date. The Warning went to Japan in June to play 3 shows, 1 with Band Maid. They went over a couple weeks early, met up with Band Maid, finished the song, and shot the music video. They did play it live at that joint show, with all 8 ladies on stage, but only a teaser clip has been officially released to date. Song is on the new Band Maid album. There is fan cam footage of the entire live performance, but DO NOT react to that, many that did got copyright strikes. Kanami composed the song, challenging everyone. She wrote it in a higher key than Saiki and Dany usually sing in. In an interview on PRS Guitars Japan with Kanami and Dany, they said the 2 bands should get together again in Mexico. In another interview mentioning a possible future collab, Dany joked that it would be in a lower key. LOL Highly recommend checking out The Warning. Like Band Maid , they are great live. Suggest "Evolve" live at the 2023 mtv video music awards, and "Hell You Call A Dream" live at the Pepsi Center CDMX.
There was no battling in this performance. It was a very friendly collaboration. I was at the show with both bands in Tokyo June 12. When they closed the show with thus song, it was obvious how much they love and respect each other. Both bands have skills far beyond this one song. But they had about a week to put this together. I'm hoping they release the live performance soon.
More The Warning please. Preferably the live performances from the 2023 Pepsi Center show. They're more straight forward rock and not metal, but you'll enjoy them, especially live.
You know Band-Maid and their music. The Warning are a generally a classic/hard rock trio from Mexico. So their music is not quite the same hence the song is a bit of a mix, but written by Kanami.
They are showing what can be done if you open the possibilities. this is what mutual respect sounds like. not much of a maidiac, yet, but have been following The Warning for some years now and they are more than a great band, they inspired lots of people. Quinn 17yo guitar/vocals for Freeze The Fall taught herself guitar to The Warning's Queen Of The Murder Scene album when she was 11yo. her band mates are Aria 15yo bass/vocals and Jonah 16yo on drums.
