I believe this is the only mashup where it wasn't listed in the title. They do have a decent amount of covers as they started out busking for fun before they officially became a band, but they also have some awesome original music, too. This metal head thoroughly enjoys The Big Push and the whole vibe they have. I love their energy. 🤘
The Big Push broke up when Ren had to go to Canada for more treatment. If they got together for a show I would fly across the pond to see them 😅. I enjoyed your reaction
I think part of the reason they did a lot of covers is that they're all buskers. People generally want to hear familiar songs on the street like that, so they used to mix their own stuff into sets once they'd drawn a crowd. By the time of this set they were popular enough that the crowd knew them and had favourite covers they wanted to hear, as well as being able to sing along with their original music. 😊
Ren was originally in a band called “Trick the Fox” before he joined “The Big Push”. They are playing on the corner of Ship Street in the city of Brighton, which is on the south-east coast of England. Ren lived there for a number of years before he had to move to Canada for his medical treatment.
Kasey Chambers is Australian musical royalty... you took a big chance on that one....lol. What I find amazing about this is it's middle of the day, on a random street, and they still bring a degree of intensity to the song. The Big Push has a ton of their own music... but Ren is a very, very talented busker because he understand crowd dynamics... How to get people to stop, how to hold them once they do. It's so good.
Thank you 🙏❤ RockdaRiff ❤ for your 🎸🎸🎸🥁 The Big Push - War Pigs/Killing In The Name Of/Paranoid/Crazy Train reaction! #thebigpush #warpigs #killinginthenameof #paranoid #crazytrain #ren #rengill #gorrankendall #romainaxisa #glennchambers #brighton #shipstreet #busking
Yeah, Crazy Train was the guitar solo. I hear ya on the cover thing, but many of the biggest bands in the world do covers. It shouldn't be something any band would shy away from, to me anyway, unless of course, that's all you do. What The Big Push do expertly, IMHO with covers, is keeping the integrity of the original whilst still giving it their own flair. A difficult task. In this one in particular, they seamlessly melded 4 separate songs, and interestingly enough to me, they also created a commentary with the songs they selected and they way they are placed. But that's just my .02
Ren has said, the band is just all in different places working on different things, but they're all still close. There's no plans to perform together again soon, but they would all like to do it if things ever lined up right. The other members have decent careers also. Romain Axisa just dropped a new song a few days ago, it's on RU-vid.
A good majority of the covers are mashups. The genius is in the arrangement of them so transitions are seamless . Delivery is top notch by every member.
Nice reaction! I like your laugh and smile! Looking good :) There are quite a few videos from the same location, so you might be able to see the wall better in another song.
Most Towns & City's across Britain has Buskers especially Tourist destinations. I Remember 1st in my Local Town after Lockdown their was Buskers on Every Corner. The Crowds were Mad
4 Friends with minimal gear playing in the streets for fun and tips. Sadly, We don't do that here. Ren, everything Romain, 2nd lead, vocals. Gorran, bass, vocals. Glen, Drums, vocal.
When Ren was in college, his band was Trick the Fox. Fans often refer to that era of Ren as "baby Ren." He was signed to Sony near the end if that period but it was just as he was getting seriously ill as the undiagnosed Lyme was tearing him apart. He moved back home with his mom for years and for a while couldn't spend much time out of bed. A number of years of extreme suffering later, he was properly diagnosed and eventually got treatment that returned some quality of life to him (2016), but not enough to ve able to return to "normal" living. 2017-ish (?) he & Romain (guitar) and Gorran (bass) formed The Big Push (Glenn, the drimmer, came later. Ren played drums until then when needed). They played together for 5 years but Ren's health still didn't allow for predictable energy/predictable release from pain. That likely hampered their ability to commit to booking shows. Ren finally found this clinic in Calgary Alberta that had had success in improving some people's symptoms (but no guarantee, and it even sometimes makes other people's symptoms worsen). When he'd raised enough money to go for the first 4 months to see if it could help him is when TBP went on hiatus, in 2022. Hi Ren broke Ren's career wide open just as he was leaving for Canada/settling in in Calgary. He's planning to move to LA later this year, when he's done in Calgary (the success since Hi Ren enabled him to continue treatment past the first 4 months). I mean, it's not impossible for "Ren moving to LA" to include "TBP reforms and is based in LA" but I'd be surprised if that's what's in the works. I think we know they're wanting to do a reunion show? But that's a far cry from "the band's getting back together to write new material " There's an odd little music festival in England in July called The Secret Garden Party. It's the property where the warehouse is, where Money Game 3 was filmed. Romain (Big Push's lead guitarist) and another "Renisphere" artist, Ruby J (not affiliated with TBP) are confirmed to be on the schedule. And the festival poster is leaving hints that Ren will be a headliner (the slot is currently TBA). Gorran (TBP's bassist) said in a livestream earlier this week that he won't be in England for that festival so that dashes people's hopes that the Secret Garden Party was gonna be the reunion show. Well, at least, Gorran says "I won't be in England for the Secret Garden Party, that I know of." lol
Glad you're reacting to The Big Push. They do have quite a few original songs, but I think covers work well when you're busking because people are more familiar with the songs, so more likely to leave a tip. I'd suggest some of the following Big Push originals: Sweet Little Lady (there's a studio version and a live acoustic version) Icarus X-Box Marijuana Watch Out
Right fuckin' on! I must admit, hearing my name made me squeal like a stuck war pig! It was a first. I love that you like Rage more than War Pigs...Nice surprise! Had to sub. You're checkin' out some more Ren🤘
One for you that isn't reacted to very often or by many. "XBox Marijuana" the guys are together playing video game in a room painted dark blue. I hope you find that one. Sorry I don't have the url link for you for that one.
Consider this request as me begging you to react to Faith No More’s cover of ‘War Pigs’ from Brixton 1990. Begging, my brother. It’s fucking fantastic. Cheers!
