The reason Dimash is not known in the West falls on Dimash's own shoulders. He has made an honorable decision to be an independent producer of his own music thereby avoiding the record industry tendency to limit creativity and complex music. I think he knows that major record labels would try to turn him into the next Michael Jackson but that's not what Dimash or his fans want. Dimash is so much more than that, and we hope that he always will be.

Dimash's generation is the first generation to live in a free and independent Kazakhstan. His country's independence means an awful lot to him.

After watching it three times I understood it. Dimash and the woman are husband and wife, their daughter dies while her little brother is born, who then grows up and is identical to his father (Dimash's soldier character) and he leads all the different religions in a utopian but beautiful dream of wishes. of peace in this crazy world.

Dimash wants to remain independent and decide for himself what he sings and says and also what clothes he wears. That's why he doesn't want to commit to a label and that's why he doesn't get a platform on radio and TV. Greetings from the Netherlands

Great reaction!! You are one of the few reactors who actually got the video. The girl who gave birth was Dimash's wife and the child who died was their daughter. You were right about the characters and who they grew up to be. Dimash came home from war and saw his whole family was wiped out. He didn't realize they were able to hide his wife so she could give birth to their son. She by the way died giving birth. Dimash was the boy that almost died. The other boy grew up to be the dictator who was responsible for the war that killed his family. In the end all three of them ended up dying. The message was very, very powerful about the awful things war does. We need to choose life and save the earth. Watch the live version at his Almaty concert. I am not alone, the world is watching because whatever happens in your country will have deep and wide reverberations no matter where we live. But the U.S. is not the only nation going through turmoil, the world is changing very fast and no one should be surprised if anyone knows any history. Nothing ever stays the same and change is inevitable. The message is to try to make these changes the right way and not by the use of war. The U.S. may not know about this MV just because Dimash is not under contract with any labels. But FYI, back in 2022, during the Pope's visit in Kazakhstan for the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, Dimash performed this song for him and he received a commemorative medal from the Pope for his humanitarian efforts.

He has spoken about this at Peace conferences. The people of all cultures are all places where war and suffering have occurred. When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least! 😥 Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony and through his many charities. He is a Legend in the making and will go down in History. This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it: This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform. 1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end. 2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war. “People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love, and harmony. In composing, in singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it. He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay. The premiere was on September 24, 2022. As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. During his concerts he always tells the audience he loves all people in every country. He visited so many different counties with his concerts and he realized that there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And OMG he is such a phenomenal actor. Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife and unborn child were also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace. In this video you can see how the main religions are represented mostly with his voice. Islam with the type of Arabic melisma (unfortunately I don't know the correct explanation for this type of singing), Buddhism with the monks and the enchanting "Om", Judaism with the shofar and the Christian church with the soprano singing, which often can be heard in churches. To me, he's such an honorable artist, coz he could easily sign a contract with big record labels in US and get even more famous overnight with the whole marketing, but he doesn't want to be a puppet in the market, he wants to be creative and make his own style of music and leave a legacy he can be proud of, even if it takes longer for him to be heard, a true independent and sophisticated artist, that's why I admire him and his works. He has all the tools he needs, vocal ability, an ear for music, skills in song-writing, story-telling, playing different instruments, even the good looks, he needs no one but himself ❤

This song is very beautiful and haunting. It shows how three kids go from best friends to the older boy’s jealousy & rage turning him into a dictator, because the girl chooses Dimash’s character. Harboring hatred can and does change the trajectory of all of their lives. The man at the end who’s walking in the desert is the son that was born to Dimash & his wife. The moment Dimash dies, their son is born. 💔😭💔 Dimash is a stunning storyteller.

War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. Story: The clip is divided into several parts. One day the friend saves the protagonist when he almost drowns. The three children are friends and their common external symbol is the necklace (gnomon). Both boys are in love with the girl. But she chooses “Dimash”. The other boy feels hurt. The pendant is a gnomon, the shadow hand of a sundial, which served as a nautical compass in ancient times. This symbol is upside down on the uniforms. (That's not how it works.) It's war. Grabbing the right shoulder. You see at the beginning, Dimash's character taps the right shoulder of the bigger boy who saved him. I agree with you. Peacemaking begins between individuals treating each other kindly. I think the representatives of the different religions walking together is reminding religious leaders to work toward understanding each other rather than using religion as an excuse to kill or belittle each other. We don't have to agree with each other to be able to treat each other with dignity and respect. 🇨🇦

I guess you also read your comments so I will take this time to give you my own take on this MV, something I rarely do because it differs from most interpretations I've read. In this MV, Dimash is showing us two worlds living under one sky, an earthly realm and a spiritual one. The spiritual realm is where past earthly messengers and prophets from different religions are trekking towards the point of an upcoming new arrival...In essence, we live and travel between both worlds as we die and are born again and we all live under one sky. On earth as it is in heaven. I believe this is very well pictured on how earthly events impact the spiritual one. The Piper mentioned in the song first appears in the scene where trekkers are facing the storm and then following the newest arrival at the end. He can be recognized by his hat pointing forward and a flute in his hand. Also important is the Christ-like figure appearing numerous times and I don't believe this is by happenstance. He is an important player in this movie. He does wear a cross around his neck and as he falls, no one stops because he is transitioning. As you may already know, Dimash is a muslim and in Islamic teachings, Jesus Christ is recognized as one of God's prophet, the Virgin Mary is also revered in the Islamic tradition. This is important because I believe it has bearing at the end of the movie. When Dimash dies at the end, he transitions to the other side where the trekkers have arrived to greet him. All the while, his child is born into the earthly realm as the Christ like figure "dies" on the spiritual one. Is this a message of a second coming ? Dimash is playing the role of a messenger in this MV. Anyway...that is my take on it.

An artistic masterpiece like this will pull emotions out of you.

Three, he is beyond talented. There is no one out there putting out the caliber of music that he is. I think this is the greatest music video I have ever seen. Practically a full blown film in its own right. Dimash is said to have put three years and millions of dollars into this masterpiece. And I for one believe that it definitely shows. The incredibly low vocal part was indeed him, down in the first octave. He had used that kind of voice at least once before, in an older live performance. But the distorted screams at the very end were a new vocal technique he learned to complete this song. And for me that is the moment that the whole grand drama of it all reaches its undeniable apex.

The 3 children on the beach grow up to be: 1) drowning boy = soldier 2) girl = soldier's wife and pregnant mother of little girl 3) taller boy = became the commander. The pendant symbol is from the sundial. The commandant's pendant became the symbol of his military group, notice that as a boy, when he gets the symbol, he bends it. His perspective becomes corrupt. The soldier decides to leave the war and go home only to find his daughter dead and he doesn't know where his pregnant wife is. He kills his old friend because of this and then he is killed in return. The little girl on the beach rejected the taller boy's advances and he became bitter. She grows to marry the soldier and is the mother of the little girl and the baby boy. She dies in childbirth at the moment of her husband's death. The symbol is placed on the baby boy and he grows to lead the pilgrims who are going away from war towards peace, towards the light. Dimash's vocals are beyond stunning.
