Welcome to Nuclear Reactions! Genuine reactions from an open-minded metalhead to various genres of metal, rock, and beyond! The reaction is often followed by an analysis of the music or lyrics, some of my opinions, and even some personal stories. Let's take this journey together.
Note: When it comes to the philosophical, religious, or political views of bands I review, reacting ≠ endorsement.
I can definitely see where you get that this is about haters, but unless I’m mistaken, it’s actually a commentary on the music industry forcing these women to act and be a certain thing/way for the image and then turning on them and stabbing them in the second they change or speak up or say no to something-calling them crazy, hard to work with, b*tches, divas, etc. Or the second it seems profitable (*cough cough* Scooter & Scott *cough*)
“Can you imagine how much the people had to pay to be right up there in the front?” Ohhhhh buddy… there’s a global ARMY of Swifties whose PTSD from the Great Ticketmaster War and Resale Black Market was just triggered!
Metalheads - since you’ve given TS a chance, give me some suggestions to return the favor. I’m not a content creator or anything, just not a metal fan but willing to give it a shot. :)
Ronnie comes from a biker household and community. He was raised by his biker dad, Russell Radke. So it is no surprise that Ronnie's personality is "don't back down" and "don't take any crap." That probably came in handy while he was incarcerated, plus he's 6'1 and knows how to fight. Saraya said a stalker came to their house saying "symbols" led him there. 🤪 Luckily, Ronnie was home and took the guy down and held him until the police came. Saraya said that she was terrified.
Anything from her reputation tour is absolutely amazing, fan favorites are don't blame me, getaway car, and I did something bad (I vote for you to react to this one). I think as a metalhead, you probably appreciate complex music in terms of rhythms, time signatures, etc, so I'd recommend Haunted from her album Speak Now, or evermore, tolerate it, or cowboy like me from her album evermore.
I'd just like to add, what you were referring to as the studio version was infact not the studio version. As i type this, i realise that you may have chosen a different video to avoid copyright issues. But that said- the actual song on the album (or albums) sound extremely different.
As a metalhead and swiftie, I know many metal musicians are classically trained, so taylor's more musically complex songs may appeal to you more. I'd recommend Haunted, evermore (the song, this is also an album title), cowboy like me, and tolerate it (very sad).
It’s great that you appreciate the dancers because I do think they’re awesome too! And the somewhat Star Wars/hunger games/dystopian costumes are also amazing. and of course Taylor Swift is a goddess❤
You should really check out the live version at the Empire State Bldg.. this video reminds me of one of my favorite movies FALLEN with Denzel Washington
The voice that narrates at the beginning is the singer of "Teatro degli orrori" (Theater of horrors), Pierpaolo Capovilla, group that I highly recommend! 🇮🇹
People struggle with separating “I don’t like this” with “this is bad”. We do that with people we aren’t attracted to (calling them ugly when we simply don’t find them attractive), with art, with food, with actors, and with musicians. It’s a sad comment on a severe immaturity of our species. We are so diverse and it’s past time we grow up and learn that just because you or I don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s bad. I don’t like Elvis, but he was still a legendary artist. I don’t like tomatoes, still a good fruit. And so on.
I love that you called her a genre, she is!!! And in Australia to be near her like that was $1000 USD, that was the most expensive ticket, and is ilegal to resell for more here unlike in the USA and other countries. It was an amazing show and the best $1000 I ever spent ;)
I'm very sorry for your friend. I can understand the emotional context. I love Radiohead, but pretty much dismissed this song as well. You seem like a good guy. All the best.
