I already hit that button as soon as you started doing ptx you should start reacting to home free and voiceplay. They both have incredible basses (home free is a country accapela but they bring country to a new level
Have you done a reaction to Homefree? May I also suggest taking a listen to Dimash Kudaibergenov. He is currently considered the best singer in the world. Also if you have any doubts about PTX, here's the live no mic version ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tw4YCsHXKgI.html
Yeah im one of the 5%!! Love all youre reactions btw! But just so you know, if you loved this song, then you have to listen to "Love again" by ptx! I promise you, you wont regret it! Rock on dude and sorry if i spell something wrong, im swedish, so im not used to write in english xD
Couple interesting facts about this song It was entirely recorded in a closet The video was filmed in an apartment kitchen and was about 400 dollars in total to make. It won them their first Grammy!
But did it work without a sixth audio line? Because I don't know how avi and kevin can do the slow and fast 'woosh'-sound while still keeping the bass line up at 2:11 and 5:23.
commentor93 Avi can do this thing called overtone where he sings one really low note with multiple higher notes above it. I’m guessing that is him using overtone but I’m not sure.
I actually love you watching ptx because it makes me feel like I’m experiencing it for the first time again and it makes me so happy to see your reaction
Watching someone's first experience of Pentatonix (no matter the song) is like watching a four-year-old experiencing ice cream for the very first time! That's why we Pentaholics LOVE LOVE new reactions!
That is Mitch in his citizen disguise. Avi has corn rows and he is not wearing a shirt, just letting his hairy chest hang out. Yes Avi does a lot of the sound effects. Any time you hear deep drums or a bass guitar it's Avi. This video was recorded in Avi's closet and edited in the kitchen. It cost them $400 to produce and brought them a Grammy Award. So much for the intelligence of the record company that dropped them, huh? You REALLY need to hear God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Avi drops some good bass bombs in that one too.
@@nikelodeon6852 no, no they're not hun you need to pay more attention as its a joint effort between the two of them. most are from kevin and now even matt does some of them , if you want a good example of this you can watch their video for Havana while kevin is doing the horn , matt is making the drum sounds. heck during the sing off a few times it was mitch doing the drum sounds with avi lol even kirstie has done some beat boxing on at least one song.
I see you have achieved the "Is that Mitch?" Trophy. You are one step closer to Aha! Singapore. You have already achieved the levels required for Avi, so please continue to rock on your way.
@@toledojm06 In all fairness, Matt brings his silky-smooth incredible voice to the group. If HE had been the first, we'd be sad if HE left. Matt has done all these songs live and sounds incredible.
Yeah, I have the constant feeling in their songs with Avi they didn't give him parts that showed his full potential. Pentatonix always looks to me like it revolves about three members, while Avi and Kevin don't get space in the light. ^^'
One more comment... Avi can do this thing called overtone singing where he can hold one note steady while singing a second note which is moving at the same time! He has a separate video of an interview where he demonstrates it. So sometimes I'm sure he's adding a 6th dimension. Check it out-overtone singing. Avi is a beast.
This is what they won their first Grammy for, and they filmed it in a closet in their house because that was all they could do on their budget. If you hear them do this live, it sounds exactly the same. Crazy good.
It does sound the same as long as they start on the right key 😂 they opened their last concert with it and unfortunately they were not in tune with each other and I was so sad. But that happens in live performances and this song is hard.
Pentatonix makes a point of never recording anything that they can't reproduce live. It's one of the reasons they're so good. They demand perfection from themselves.
Listen to them live in a hotel room, singing for Make A Wish foundation. It will remove ALL DOUBT as to their expertise. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tw4YCsHXKgI.htmlsi=pCG_qfl1UMEQtMST
The problem around Avi is he has been called possibly the best bass of this generation and that is in Europe not just here. When such unique talent is noticed others may end up further in the background.
They do a cover of Imagine Dragon’s Radioactive with Lindsay Sterling. She plays the violin and Kevin beatboxes and plus the cello. It’s also one of their first videos. It’s pretty cool too.
Karina Sanchez Yes, he needs to review this one for sure. FYI, the Radioactive performance also won Lindsey (and PTX) a RU-vid award the year it was released. I think ole Jase will love it.
First, it is ALWAYS Mitch. He and Kirsten change looks constantly. I knew this would blow your mind. Next recommendation for me would be their cover of John Lennon's 'Imagine'. If you are a crier you had better have a box of tissues handy, might even need them if you normally aren't. As a song it, to me, embodies PTX and their entire mantra. 'Daft Punk' has also given you a glimpse of their ability to mash-up songs with impeccable transitions. To see more of that, check out 'La La Latch' and 'New Rules X Are You That Somebody' (First chance to see Avi's replacement, Matt)
So I FINALLY FINALLY found someone who reacted the same way I did to Avi at 7:16 and then at 7:25!!! That was absolutely me and I felt so connected to your reactions as soon as I saw them LMAO!!!
"There's an ambiance going on," I've said this. Lots of acapella groups suffer from sounding thin, having tremendous exposure in the mid and upper ranges but having little to ground the sound. Pentatonix gets around that: Avi, and to a lesser but still significant extent Kevin, provide a tremendous deep, warm presence that gives PTX a much fuller sound than other acapella acts. And yes, Mitch is a shapeshifter. He missed his ride back to Arcturus, just be glad he did.
Avi is not wearing a shirt, he does have cornrows, and Mitch is Definitely singing the "one more time" lyric😂😂 new to the channel. Liked and subscribed
@@dehyassimp7450 Don't know what others would even call it... In my experience, 1-2 large braids that incorporate the majority of the hair into the braid are referred to as french braids. 3 braids in this style and up tend to look like rows of cornfields from above, and are thus referred to as "cornrows" by all the black people I ever met. I don't remember ever hearing any other terminology for it outside of "plaited," but that term sounds either old, or foreign to American english. Might be both. That I definitely don't know.
St4rPT wow it's so funny how even fans of the same group hear the music so differently. Cracked is without a doubt my favorite original, but Rose Gold is by far my least favorite.
@@markbell4017 I honestly dont even have a less favorite amongst those I've heard, but yhe..about Rose Gold maybe it's because I like how Scott sounds on that one
If you watch them on Sing Off, Sean named Kevin and Avi “Meat and Potatoes” because of how flawlessly they provided the rhythm of the group. Avi is always my super star
I love how Jase knows more and more about PTX with every song he reacts to by them! Literally any song from them is amazing and ROCKS! And that is why they broke The Sing-Off! 😂❤️
The RU-vid algorithm suggested you to me recently. But this reaction of yours got you a subscriber. I was introduced to PTX by a previous boyfriend, and I introduced them to my husband 10 years ago. And we still feel the same about them as you've just discovered you feel.
My favorite videos with Avi (in no particular order): -Can't Hold Us -Problem -Say Something -Hallelujah -Bohemian Rhapsody -Aha at the Star Vista -The Sing Off episodes (a few are duds, a few are mind-blowing, the whole series takes you along on their evolution) With Matt: -Sound of Silence -New Rules -Come Along There are so many other good ones, these are just my faves.
Avi steals the show for me as well cause i’m a high soprano and am fascinated with true basses. It’s mind boggling to me. It doesn’t hurt that he is the epitome of a handsome brooding man (at least in my opinion). Haha
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease react to “Pentatonix Daft Punk Off Mic Private Performance”! Yes, I know you just did daft punk BUT, hear me out... I think it’s easy for our brains to not register that humans are making these sounds. Logically we know that they are but there’s still a disconnect bc it sounds like the editing or something. The Private performance is what sealed the deal for me that they are unbelievable and can do this stuff live. It’s as raw as you can get- no mics, recorded on a phone, in a green room next to a bathroom.
I've never seen the live private performance of this! So insane!!!! I've always loved Pentatonix but have never heard them sing this live. The fact that they still get a balance out of a song like this is ridiculous. I can't imagine how Kevin stayed conscious trying to beatbox loud enough to be heard the entire time. So awesome :)
It’s so fun to watch you getting excited about Pentatonix! I don’t know if you’ve looked up any stuff from when they were on The Sing Off, the acapella competition they won, but I love their live performance of Dog Days Are Over. It was hands down my favorite performance of theirs while on the show. So much raw performance power and phenomenal composition of the musical arrangement while under pressure every week. Still one of my favorite performances of theirs. Even if you don’t review, just go watch it. It’s great to watch all the Sing Off performances just to appreciate how far they’ve come! 😊
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE react to their performance of Aha! in Singapore ! If you love Avi and Mitch you will go insane over this performance! and it’s live !!
To be quite frank, you can't go wrong with any Pentatonix song. I love watching your reactions, they feel very genuine and they are also quite amusing lol. Their Evolution of Music is a very cool one and while it may not be their most popular it is very unique and very fun. I also recommend the song Love Again, it is one of their originals and is really good.
I really like PTX, have known them for a few years now. As for Avi, he is amazing and I feel the same as you when listening to him sing. Mind-blowing. Bravo.
I don’t remember if you did it already, but you should definitely check out Mary did you know or Little Drummer Boy by Pentatonix. It’s early PTX bu it’s great stuff
Love you reactions to them! Avi is the perfect bass as well He's always been one of my favorites in pentatonix but he left and now they have a new bass but Matt is actually a pretty good bass!
I agree he's not bad, and fits with the group. STILL NOT THE SAME! Lmao no-one can replace Avi! Btw have you listened to The Oogie Boogie Song by Voiceplay? If you haven't, you NEED to!
The secret of Pentatonix: They are all perfect and together they reach a new level of perfectionism! Please react to "Imagine" and "Can't Hold Us" next! I really like your reactions and I am one of the 5%!
This won them the Grammy. Todrick Hall tried to do a cover and had to enlist their help in redoing it becuase their harmonies are SO freakin TIGHT! Love PTX!!!
My acapella group sang this arrangement a couple of years ago - massively difficult to learn (and we worked on it at half-speed often, lol) but brought down the house every time. Brilliant.
Yes! Another Pentatonix reaction! Since you haven't done a live video yet, check out their Christmas performance of Hallelujah. If you really want to know if they sound just as good live as they do in the studio, this video will put those doubts to rest! Or check out the private live performance they did of Daft Punk. It looks like they were in some type of small conference room with a bathroom next to them. Weird, I know. But the acoustics must have been great! I know you're loving Avi's bass so maybe check out Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. They won another Grammy for that song as well. Aha! Singapore is a given but I'll let you get there when you get there. 😁
Their friend Todrick Hall did a parody of this, and SuperFruit reacted to Todrick's parody. Todrick's version is called Pentatodrix. They've done a few projects together. Todrick's The Wizard of Ahhhhs stars Pentatonix.
I'm pretty sure your first Pentatonix reaction was Hallejulah where you first heard Avi sing in his upper register and you commented about his voice. The whole Pentatonix universe cracked up. We weren't laughing at you we just couldn't wait for you to hear his lower stuff.
At the risk of sending you down yet another musical rabbit hole on RU-vid, I'd highly recommend their cover of Imagine Dragons's Radioactive with Lindsey Stirling. She is another amazing talent, though it's usually instrumental only. Also: Pentatonix's cover of Imagine. If you liked Sounds of Silence, this will get you for sure.
I feel like I've never met someone that feels the way about Avi that I do. I just found your channel and I can't wait to watch rest, especially Avi! Subscribing!
Long time PTX fan...I just watched your reaction to them (several videos) and was slapping my leg laughing out loud at your expressions! My first experience was similar, but I truly enjoyed watching you! Welcome to the PTX Club!
I'm subscribed! Have been since your first PTX reaction. You DEFINITELY NEED to react to PTX "Aha" live at Star Vista in Singapore. You love Mitch and Avi, and I promise they won't let you down in that video. You'll become a mega fan of both of them after it. It's flawless.
Another one that’s similar to this that’s an original of theirs is love again. They pull off an electronic sounding dance song being a Capella. You should check it out. And yes that’s Mitch. The online lineup change has been Avi to Matt.
Pentatonix is one of my favorite groups of all time, maybe because i sang in school and i know what it takes to to have a great harmony, or maybe just because they’re amazing. I love picking out their individual voices. They blow me away every time i listen to them, too! “Winter White Hymnal” is a staple - i can listen to that Fleet Foxes cover 20 times in a row, easily. Avi does (did) a lot of beat boxing when he was with the group and Kevin doesn’t sing much, but has an awesome bass/baritone - he sings on one of the Christmas songs they released in the last couple of years and his voice is beautiful, too.
You would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE “dance of the sugarplum fairy” it is AMAZING and it has so many epic moments in it and also super low notes by Avi :)))) ♥️♥️♥️♥️
What blows me away about them is they do this LIVE. No joke. There was a private performance of this song poster here to RU-vid. Don't have the link on hand but if you search this song live, it'll come right up.
You should listen to dance of the sugarplum fairy or “You’re a mean on Mr. Grinch”. Both AMAZING songs, and feature the new bass. I know it’s not Christmas but you gotta lol
in the words of the famous acapella movie pitch perfect (the second one also had pentatonix as a cameo) "you've got a musical toner for Avi. it's distracting" lol
This is what I feel like when I hear things that blow my mind. Exactly like this. Shit. If we collabed, it would be.. A man and a woman sitting there doing the same thing as each other for the whole damn video. I don't feel as crazy now, thank you. Music fucking rips me apart and puts me back together again.
I'm laughing hysterically, with pure joy, watching your reactions to all of these PTX videos. This is the same way I react every time they put out something new. The Dynamics of their arrangements, and the sheer talent, and beautiful tone of EVERY ONE OF THEM (old members, and new)leaves me energized and rekindles my love of music in general. Keep watching. They have a base library of Congress, and originals alike and they are a force of nature. I'm glad you were introduced to their music and even more ecstatic that you get it, and it hits you like it did me. It doesn't have to be Rock to"ROCK", and all of this certainly does. Love yur posts Jase. Keep it up.
