they are master of transition each song has different taste than as a fan can enjoy .....they got lots of energy....transition and riff plus solo are their signature...they give each member to shine , its very rare to see the members to shine in a band....

They work together continually to perfect their music and presence on stage and off. You really need to see some of their new stuff. Warning, Manners and they have a new live from their internet concert of Warning. No matter what you will not be disappointed.

I have difficulty finding the right words to express how much I enjoy this band. They all look so fun, smart, funny, and just so talented as well. They "get" entertainment. They are not just bringing joy, they are sharing joy. Just can't stop watching and listening! LOVE THEM!

Akane is one of the most insanely talented drummers to play in a band. She is the absolute bomb!

One reason that the vocals may sound different from "typical" Japanese singers is that reportedly, Miku is one of a relative few Japanese lyricists who has the knack of tweaking the syllabic and phonetic structure to allow for more variation. They've said in interviews that she often has to explain to Saiki how to sing lines so they'll sync up with the music.

Not only are they incredibly talented. They have such an amazing stage presence, its astounding!

BandMaid is the epitome of the Japanese lifestyle. There are no stand out egos. The reason there wasn't more "guitars" in this musical piece is because it was Akane's turn to shine. Which she pulled off brilliantly, i might add. If Kanami had lengthened her short guitar solo, it would have taken away from Akane's drum solo, and Kanami knew that. All egos were kept in check, and Kanami knew her chance to show off her skills would be coming in an another music piece.

I was looking forward to your reaction. I think BAND-MAID is the best hard rock band in the world at the moment. There are many other great bands in Japan. However, as you can understand, BAND-MAID is not addicted to types and genres. How difficult is it to be addicted to 💔 after listening to music for over 50 years? The other bands are still in the mold. Lol If you are two people, the difference is clear and true. Also, I'm waiting for the reaction of BAND-MAID.

Violent reaction! There are still many songs that react, but do you have the physical strength? LOL. They please the crowd and at the same time enjoy it. As proof of that, they gather in front of the drummer "Akane" and make a "funny face" that interferes with Akane's play. Akane manages to counter it and can play as accurately and powerfully as usual. They always smile because they enjoy playing with themselves first.

The most amazing and humble band you will ever see. Everything they do, is for the fans. Not only can they rock hard, but their ballads are tear jerkers. You should really check out Daydreaming and About Us. About Us is newer and is a love letter to the fans. But those 2 songs really show off Saiki's vocals. Their live performances are just as good, if not better than studio tracks. Infectious energy from start to finish. I have been following them for years now, and they just keep growing and getting better.

Akane reminds me of a happy version of Animal from the Muppets when she does those solos.

So happy I got tickets for their show later this year!

Harry, if you really want to check out the PRS..go to their video Onset. It is an instrumental, and Kanami does tapping and hammerons, and Misa kills it on her Black Cloud bass. Also Miku does a great job on her Zemaitis guitar.

Thanks for the great reaction to one of my current fave bands. Misa is an absolute monster on the bass. I can only compare her to the late legendary John Entwhistle from The Who.

Two of their songs that are more toward the Metal end of the spectrum are Rinne (Reincarnation), and Moratorium. If you enjoy bass I would go with Moratorium first. It has some incredible bass work from Misa.

Really appreciate your appreciation of this great band. They are one of the bands that virtually everyone who sees their live clips wants to see live and state they'll travel to see them,as you say to their homeland too. Japan has an incredible musical arts education system. Students are encouraged to learn many instruments from a young age. Akane,Misa and Kanami are all multi instrumentalists. Piano,brass and more. Kanami starts many of her compositions on piano. See Yolo for example. She is a supreme songwriter. Probably the least appreciated? But the most valuable. Her solos are not lengthy but compact for a reason. To produce the ideal 4 minute song. Thrill is a prime example. I understand from a guitarist's point of view you would like to hear more (Real Existence) but it's her style. The band's style. The Maids really are the quintessential mix of east meets west. Each member has their role and their differences just make it work it so well. There are so many great MV's to watch to make you realise how great this group of talented professionals are. The diversity from pop to metal. Ballads to hard core rock. They have it all. I kid you not. There is not another band like them. For diversity check out these clips. There's a squillion maidiacs in at least 66 countries so that shows you the widespread love for these ladies. There are also instrumentals on the last DVD released that really show the chops that each one has on their own, it's amazing that these 5 women could find each other and come up with some of the best rock, hard rock, metal, etc. out there today.

Yes, Band Maid and Lovebites are most known female bands from Japan, but there are more of them, and you could (and should) check them! My recommendations are Nemophila - songs "Dissention" and "Ratei" for example, but you couldn't find anything wrong! Bridear - older songs like "Light in the Dark" and "Ignition", and newer one ...let's say "Bloody Bride". They changed a ot in the line-up, but they are good band. Doll$Boxx - side project of Fuki from "Unlucky Morpheus" and musicians from 'Gacharic Spin". Let's say "Shout Down" song, or live versions of "Loud Twin Stars" and "Take my Chance" Trident - let's say songs "Continue" or "Ambivalent"... There are a lot of others, also, and I'm sorry that I miss some of them, but what I learned in a last year (since I started to listen Japanese bands) that nobody of them would dissapoint you, for sure, like it's sure that sun gonna rise in the morning! :-) Especially their female rock scene!
