I like how half way through this normal remix, it just gets hijacked by Spamton and starts to play a small part of "BIG SHOT"

I played this at an X-wing Epic scale game today on loop with my Trident class assault ship, Grievous, and a literal ocean of vultures and tore apart a Rebel fleet. This made it feel like an ascension moment.

My man, this is wild! It's heartwarming to see you take such pride in your music and artwork, and who _wouldn't_ be proud of these masterpieces? The journey's been a long one, but the payoff here is immense, and reading your description just got me so hyped up for the video. 😁 Although I've never played any Sonic game besides Adventure: Battle for GameCube, I am familiar with the style of Sonic CD music, and man, does it sound good! There's something about the instrumentation, the early 90's dance vibes, and the infectious energy that just makes it so nice to listen to. And I feel like you've captured that essence perfectly in your remix here, with your choice of instruments, the more classic-sounding percussive elements, and the unrelenting groove. The frequent use of orchestral hits - even as a melody instrument - is so reminiscent of that era of music, and they're really well-executed. I feel like orchestral hits (and just group instrument attacks in general) are unwieldy and difficult to use well, but they blend in seamlessly here. Because those hits have so much power on their own, they really require an equal or greater level of intensity in the other aspects to not feel out-of-place, but this song has intensity in spades! From techno, arp-like rhythms in the back, to wild and vibrant synth leads... and those monster drums!... the remix hits like a Final Smash! On the topic of instrumentation, I absolutely love how the lead synths just glide between notes, with grace notes, accents, and selectively used vibrato to bring out the color in each and every note. And the variety in synths is insane, as well! They all feel like they fit perfectly in the musical palette, yet each synth offers a different hue or value (sorry for the bad mediocre art analogy 😅). And my man, speaking or art, we gotta talk about those visuals! You really have such a distinct art style, and looking at any one of your thumbnails or backgrounds from the past couple of years, it'd be easy to say, "yup, this is definitely Typho's work!" The shading technique, the use of smooth color gradients, the pronounced sense of perspective and depth, and the integration of glow and lighting effects... these are examples of just some of the features that I associate with your artwork, and it always just looks so. dang. nice! I can absolutely believe that more than an entire day's worth of time was spent on this image alone, as it just oozes polish and style. And the chrome-styled colorization came out amazingly well! Your studies and practice really paid off, and hey, now you've got another arrow in your quiver for future projects (and a high-usage one at that!) The precise details in both Sonic and his Metal rival are just superb, down to the tiny machine joints and ligaments (do machines even have those?...) For real though, I'm just crazy impressed by the art here, and how well it fits the music to enhance the overall experience. If I were a madder man, I'd have lots more to say, but I gotta be up for work in 5 hours. You can be sure that I'll be listening to this lots more, though. I see that this video has already gotten a great response, and I hope that continues! And hey, it's awesome to see such steady growth of your channel, too - I know you'll continue to grow in width, but also _depth_ of community with each passing month. I'm a lot of things, but forgetful isn't one! Well, it is... But that's beyond the point. I'm here now! Spamton! You really threw me off when you posted that screenshot. It seems you keep managing to fool me when it comes to Deltarune.... I love the music in that game, yes, more than Undertale. Though I haven't played either game yet, I have a huge soft spot for Noelle's theme and Attack of the Killer Queen... It often skews my ears.... That's a side tangent! Art first! Beautiful work, as is your signature! I love how the light on Sonic is more Matte because he's made of fur while Metal Sonic's reflections are obviously metallic! Sonic looks slick, and I love the expression! He's seemingly impressed and happy and cocky? I can almost hear him saying "Ha! Finally some *real* competition!" I must admit that I'm a little afraid of Metal Sonic, I mean I love robots but if more robots looked like metal sonic I would 100% have second thoughts. The contrast between the pure amount of expression Sonic has and Metal Sonic's expressionless face and body movement (he doesn't have a mouth.... eek!) is beautifully scary. I love how the detail you put into Metal Sonic, though I must admit I'm a bit more creeped out by him now that he's less cartoony. The eyes looking like they're from a CRT is cool, but you know the thing that gets me are the hands. Like, you didn't need to make every single finger look shiny and like individual knives... but you did. I love how much attention you paid to the light and aura of everything. Whether it's the area around Metal Sonic's Jet Booster or the little reflections onto Spamton and the buildings or the shadow from the "Sonic is Mine" and "Big Shot" sign. You're the master of lighting! Onto the Music. I must admit I never listened to the original (until now, so that I can comment), but one interesting difference I noticed was that there appears to be different versions of the OST? It seems you've remixed the Japan/PAL version of Metallic Madness Bad Future, which is by far one of the scariest tracks I've ever heard (without relying on screaming violins seen in horror songs). That metallic voice in the original isn't speaking to Sonic. It's talking *you.* It's telling you not to even try, it's laughing at you, it's saying to go get help. It's talking about how Sonic is his, dead or alive. If I had grown up with this, I would have been scarred. I guess this really is the game telling you that you've failed and to give up.... Scary. Anyways, let's start with the obvious: Big Shot. I'm surprised by how similar the original's bass line is to Big Shot, and including Big Shot fits so well, I love it. My favorite thing ever is mixing and matching pieces of songs which shouldn't work together and though I'm still learning how to do it well, it's so fun and amazing to hear. The way you incorporated it feels so natural and honestly I'm loving it so much. This is the best thing ever. I also love how you kept some of the original voice lines, but toned them down and included Spamton's Lines. They fit so well that honestly I had no idea they were even there as different voice lines to Spamton's until I took a close listen. I just thought they were a really scratchy saw wave with some effects at first! I can't even describe how amazing this all is. I love that percussion, that driving beat just has so much energy! The orchestra hits with Big Shot are super awesome and fit super well. Honestly, everything here is top notch. I love how you handled everything, though I would be lying to myself if I didn't expect for the song to break out into the melody from "Sandstorm" at points. My ears also were completely fooled into thinking you would go into that little rift from "Oblivion" at 1:39 / 1:40. Going into Big Shot there is super awesome and both unexpected and completely fitting? It wouldn't be a Typho remix if I wasn't constantly about 2 seconds from just standing up and dancing (I mean, it can be, but it's not uncommon for you to completely nail a dancy vibe is what I'm saying... I love your King and the Sun Remix!) and this one is no exception. I have no idea how you always manage to make everything so dancy and atmospheric, but I absolutely love it. There are just so many layers I haven't even commented on, like that synth that just kinda feels like it does its own thing? I don't even know how to describe it's melodic structure other than "it goes between a bunch of notes at at breakneck pace" and it sounds amazing. It's not a time heist plot in the future without that weird upbeat and alien melody and you've completely nailed it. Though it's a bit cliche, I like the "Time Heist" storytelling trope, especially because of all the amazing musical interpretations. Also, as per usual with your songs, the looping is great. Your intros and conclusions are amazing and I'm super envious. I'm running out of time here, but I love the atmospheric synth usage. It really feels like we're in this deserted future city where sound just echoes all around. Beautiful. While this remix deserves all the attention it's garnered so far, it deserves far more. You absolutely hit this one out of the park, it's absolutely beautiful. Have a good one Typho, and I'm hyped for whatever else you've got in the works!
